the word within the WWE locker room in Baltimore, which plays host to tonight’s WWE Extreme Rules PPV, is that Batista will be finishing up with the company this week. Batista is set to challenge John Cena tonight in a Last Man Standing match for the WWE Championship.
Batista made headlines dating back to this past January when he made it known he was ready to retire within the year, after being burnt out and his aspirations to become a movie star. A majority of the WWE crew arrived early this weekend in Baltimore for the PPV and those within the backstage area believe Batista’s career in the WWE will come to an end shortly after the show tonight.
He's also said to be furious backstage as well over Triple H 'taking' his movie role in recent weeks. He was promised the role at first and then it was changed at the last minute. He was not happy about it to say the least and voiced his opinion loudly backstage.
While this all remains speculation, there is great belief that Batista will indeed retire from a WWE ring in the very near future. As noted earlier, it is not definite that his last match for now will be at tonight's Extreme Rules pay-per-view but he is expected to leave very soon. Right now WWE has no plans for him this Summer or for the SummerSlam pay-per-view.

This article was from Sunday...refers to "Exterme Rules tonight" being his last match...but last night on RAW he won a match to once again become #1 contender...so I'd file this under "unreliable."

I'd agree as 'unreliable' but I'd note newz has been going that this is his last year anyway for awhile. He started kinda old and has been going for awhile, and clearly wants to persue other interests so it might not have been Sunday, Monday, or next Monday but could still be soon.
I hope not though. Not so much because I'm a fan of Batista, but if he's going then they passed up a hell of a chance to finally do somthing for Sheamus. He won a table match because Cena fell, he beat HHH after a prematch attack that cheapened the idea, and as a former champion hasn't had a dominating show against anyone not named Noble. It could have been huge for him if he was the one that put Batista on the shelf perminatly only 24 hours after sending HHH to the beach for the summer.
Now if Batista is going he'll be fed to Cena, lose in clean fashion finally, but Cena doesn't need it.
So by the end of that triple threat match, the night after Sheamus put out HHH, you have Cena/Batista and Edge/Orton with Sheamus drifting again. They should have drafted Sheamus to Smackdown and let Christian bump for him for awhile while they build up Kofi again while fueding with Punk, had Christian come out on top then He and Punk go at for a bit, and let Kofi/Sheamus build off of each other. Sprinkle a bit of Big Show in the mix and you could end up with 5 good opponents for Taker by SummerSlam.

Yeah, I kinda realised when I posted it , however I did post it because of this little quote

I hope to god he goes, I have not been entertained by a Tista match in a LOOOOOONG time. as for the Sheamus thing (BoolZ's post), I think the problem with him is that they kinda brought him up too quickly. I remember watching the first RAW show in a while, and he was WWE champion, I had never even seen him as a IC or US champ, and he was given a world title not even halfway through his first year.
I agree though, Christian or sheamus should've been traded to eithers brand and given a bit of a feud for possibly a mid-card title.
