Chaos Champion: Travis Pierce
Welcome to this week's Synergy recap! I'm Brutus Weathertop, all set to bring you the not-so-live-but-live-to-you coverage of Synergy.
We are just a week away from the Day of Reckoning, and tensions are running high. In a shocking turn of events, Kem Dynamo is NOT in cooperative action tonight, but lots of other people are, as we will see a lot of preview action for next week, most notably in the main event, in which the deck has been shuffled a bit, with tonight’s main event pairing Lucy Wylde with Zane Scott, as they take on Alan Wallace and Maggie Lockheart.
Your Synergy coverage begins, now…
- Vinegar, Hans, and Jay give us the usual intro that transitions into childish bickering. [/CopyPaste]
Before the bell rings, Angie and Jet talk strategy in their corner while Gabriel and Le Bord smile smugly at them. Rhombus signals the start as Jet and Le Bord kick us off. Jet flies into the attack, hands and feet flying, but Le Bord is managing to dodge most of them. She fades to one side and catches Jet’s arm beneath her own, falling to her back to drag him to the mat.
Bordy leaps back to her feet, still holding Jet’s arm, and twists it behind him. He fights to get free, but she grabs the ropes and pulls with all her might, as if to rip his arm off. Jet yells in pain, and Burke has to break up the illegal hold. Jet curls up, cradling his arm, and Le Bord unleashes hell on him. She roars as she kicks him over and over in the back, then sits on his twisted arm and begins tearing at his face.
Flying clothesline from Vaughn rescues Jet! She knocks Le Bord aside long enough for the both of them to get to their corner and for Jet to make the tag!
Angie attacks with a similar assault as her partner, but less methodical and more intense. She drives Le Bord around the ring with spinkicks and roundhouses, keeping Le Bord from being able to fight back. A thigh kick brings Le Bord to her knees, and Angie lays in with YES! Kicks. One final kick knocks Le Bord to the mat, but as Angie closes in, she catches a dropkick from Baal that sends her flying. Not bother to wait for the tag, Gabriel continues attacking, but Jet steps in to even the score and he backs down. Putting his hands up, he backs away to his corner, leaving Jet confused.
Jet checks on Angie, who nods that she’s ok, as Le Bord tags in Gabriel. He drags Vaughn into a chicken wing, turning her toward his corner and inviting Le Bord to attack. She leaps onto turnbuckle, and Baal braces himself as Angie is crushed between him and a flying crossbody from Bordy. She crumples as Baal and Le Bord begin to stomp on her. Jet rushes in again, and Baal backs off again. Even though he’s the legal man, he rolls out of the ring, leaving Jet to hit a Chok on Bordy!
He helps Angie to her feet, and is about to get her into the corner for a tag when Gabriel grabs her feet and drags her out of the ring. They tangle on the outside, until Angie is able to hit a shoulder block that knocks Baal into the steel steps. She hits a cannonball that dazes him, then yanks him up to roll him back into the ring. She goes for a pin, but Baal is able to kick out. He stumbles to his corner and tags in Le Bord, and Angie takes this time to run to her corner and tag Jet.
Bordy runs toward Jet, but he hits a Matrix as she swings wildly at him. He comes back up and spins around, hooking her leg and taking her off her feet. He runs for the ropes and hits a Blackout!
He’s about to go for the pin, but he turns and sees Angie watching him intensely. He nods to her and steps over to tag her back in. As she gets close, however, Le Bord spins around, kicking Angie’s knees from under her. She scrambles to her feet, and does her patented running in place on Angie’s back. She drags her to her feet, and now takes her turn spinning her around to invite Gabriel for an illegal attack. He steps on the turnbuckle as she did, but suddenly drops back down on the apron.
Le Bord notices he’s looking behind her, and turns around eat a forearm smash from Jet. Vaughn takes the opportunity to hit an ace crusher, then pops up to Vaughnemous! Jet hangs nearby, watching Gabriel, who refuses to engage, as Vaughn takes the pin!
Winners: Angelica Vaughn and Jet Somers
Time: 8:26
As the match come to an end, Jet advances on Gabriel, who drops down to the floor with his hands up. Angie sees what’s happening and tries to talk to Jet, trying to stop him going after Gabriel. He takes a moment to congratulate her, shaking her hand, but ultimately ignores her advice as he drops and rolls out of the ring.
Gabriel continues to back away, hands up, as Jet begins demanding to know what he’s playing at. Gabriel shakes his head, then makes a gesture pointing back and forth between himself and Jet. Shockingly, he extends his arms out to the side as if asking for a hug. Jet’s eyes narrow when Gabriel motions for him to bring it in for the hug. Jet sneers, then attacks!
He knocks Gabriel down, then goes in for the ground and pound, refusing to let up even when Angie runs up and yells at him to stop. Gabriel only covers his face, but doesn’t fight back. Eventually, the Lord Director’s music hits.
As Hastings comes out, Jet stops, getting to his feet, seething with rage. Gabriel cowers as if terrified after the attack. Hastings declares that he’s tired of the inevitable clash between the Court members being dragged out, and tells them they will competing at Day of Reckoning for the number one contendership for the Cross Hemisphere Championship.
Gabriel nods, and gulps theatrically, and Jet makes to go after him again, but Angie steps in between them, decidedly telling him to stop right now and putting a hand on his chest. Jet finally nods and backs down as we go to commercial.
Backstage, Team Kickass just got a letter, they just got a letter, they just got a letter, wonder who it’s from?
Blackwell enters first to a decent reception. There must be a few “Chill” fans in attendance. Blackwell meets it with contempt as she goes to the ring. Moore enters next and her reaction is a little stronger. She’s a veteran after all and there are probably a few fans who fancy themselves as smarks in the crowd. She gets to the ring and ends up nose to nose with Blackwell. The two exchange trash talk until they’re interrupted by the music of Kem Dynamo and the loud cheer that greets it.
Kem walks out onto the ramp and both women in the ring turn and glare at her. She plays to the crowd at the top, then walks down the ramp and plays to the crowd the entire way. She enters the ring and climbs a turnbuckle to sing with the crowd when both Blackwell and Moore attack her from behind and knock her to the mat.The two women proceed to viciously stomp her in the corner before Moore hits her with a running knee and Blackwell lands the “Red Card” superkick. The two drag the limp Kem from the corner and Moore drops onto her for the pin. Hazel East hammers only gets to “one” before Blackwell yanks her from the fallen crowd favorite.
The two women begin to shove each other back and forth. This continues until Kem begins to stir on the mat. The two women notice this and both wait for her to get to her feet. Once she does, they strike at the same time as Moore knocks her back with a dropkick that Blackwell follows up with a clothesline that sends Kem from the ring to the floor.
She doesn’t get time to celebrate or admire it as she’s immediately clubbed in the back by Moore, who spins her around and drives a knee into her stomach, then steps back and hits her in the head with a roundhouse kick that staggers Blackwell into the corner. Moore steps back and superkicks Blackwell, then grabs her head and throws her to the mat. She climbs the turnbuckle and hits a quick “Less is Moore”. She immediately leaps up onto the turnbuckle again and taunts the fans, then waits for Blackwell to stagger to her feet. Once she does, Moore leaps off for the “Moore Go Round”, which she connects with. Hazel drops to the mat and gets to two before it’s broken up.
By Kem.
With a leg drop to the back of her head.
Kem pulls Moore up, throws her into the ropes and drops her back to the mat with a rolling kick to the face, follows up with another leg drop and a basement dropkick to her head that almost knocks her from the ring. She pops up right as Blackwell grabs her and attempts a suplex. Blackwell tries to hoist her up and over, but Kem drops into a near crouch. Blackwell responds with a hammering forearm to Kem’s upper back, but Kem almost immediately responds with an elbow to the side of her head. Kem throws a second elbow, followed by a third, which staggers Blackwell. Kem turns and knocks her into the rope with a spinning heel kick, then drops her with a DDT.
She turns as Moore climbs to her feet and charges her. Kem hits her with a back elbow in the corner, then hoists her up onto it. She grabs Moore by the head, turns around and drops her with a modified cutter. She drags Moore to center ring, picks her up and drops her with a quick “Lights Out”. She drops down for the pin.
Hazel drops for the pin when Kem is suddenly yanked off of her and thrown from the ring. Blackwell drops on top of Moore and demands that the suddenly confused Hazel count the pin. Hazel drops down and counts the three and Blackwell gets what has to be considered a huge upset win.
Winner: Elizabeth Blackwell
Time: 7:46
The bell rings to signify her victory, but she ignores Hazel as she begins to put the boots to Moore. She viciously stomps away at her while Hazel calls for the bell, which of course Blackwell ignores. She pulls Moore up and throws her into the corner, then connects with the “Red Card”, which she follows up by dropping Moore face first into the turnbuckle with Snake Eyes. She steps back as Moore staggers out of the corner and rears back for a knockout punch when there’s suddenly a loud cheer. She goes to throw her punch but finds that she can’t move her arm.
She turns and looks back to find Kem holding her wrist. Blackwell scowls at her as Kem makes the “no, no, no” gesture with her free hand. Blackwell tries to yank her hand from Kem’s grasp but can’t. She pulls twice and demands that Kem let her go, but Kem refuses. Then Blackwell suddenly smiles...and Kem is knocked to the canvas from behind.
The view changes to reveal Annie Fugate and the two begin to methodically pick Kem apart. Kem puts up a brave fight and even manages to back them both off for a few seconds, but the numbers...and a well placed chair shot to the back from Blackwell, sends Kem to the mat. The two resume their assault, including using the chair. The do this for a few moments until the fans cheer loudly again. Fugate spins around and is flattened by Mizore Payne. Payne pulls her up, throws her to the ropes and then clotheslines her over the ropes to the floor. Payne spins around and ducks under a wild chair shot from Blackwell, then drops her with the “Cold Shoulder”.
Blackwell rolls from the ring and is helped from ringside by Fugate as Kem slowly gets to her feet. She glares at Blackwell and Fugate as the slowly back up the ramp and talk trash at them. Then Kem notices who helped her. Her eyes narrow, as do Mizore’s and they stand in the match staring each other down as we go to a quick commercial.
Moments before their match, Eden Morgan and Travis Pierce meet backstage.
It’s a reunion of sorts for this match, as Eden Morgan and Travis Pierce team together for the first time in ages, as they take on the tandem of Necron and Roxy Cotton. Conspicuous by her absence here tonight is Maxine… I’m guessing finding herself teamed with Nekkie, Roxy felt one monster watching her back at ringside is more than enough.
Pierce and Necron start off the action, with Travis attempting to use his quickness to keep the big behemoth mofo off balance. Pierce ducks under a couple of clothesline attempts, and then somehow avoids having his head kicked into the sixteenth row by a big boot attempt, and finally connects with a running dropkick to the knee of Necron, which almost puts the big man down to a knee.
Big, scary motherfucker, folks.
Pierce doing everything he can to avoid getting caught in Nekkie’s clutches, snapping off a few kicks to the legs of ‘The Grim Harvester’, but is ultimately pie-faced and thrown to the mat. Pierce quickly bounces back to his feet, but finds Necron’s hand wrapped around his throat. Pierce is lifted high into the air and Necron, with relative ease, throws Pierce over the top rope. Travis is able to hook the top rope with his elbow, causing the landing to be somewhat softer than it could have been, but he still lands with a thud, reaching for the small of his back after landing. Necron turning and getting the attention of Eden, as Chartreuse is hesitant to admonish the big bastard. Unseen by Brian, Roxy Cotton takes off running down the ring apron, somersaulting towards Pierce as he rises to his feet, and connects with his chest, driving him back to the floor, with Roxy ending up sitting on his chest. Travis is lucky, that costs the common man at least triple digits in some venues.
Roxy drags Travis to his feet before planting him with an unprettier, and then pulls him back to his feet and rolls him back into the ring. Necron over down, pulling the limp Pierce to his feet and sending him to the ropes. Humongous spinebuster by the pseudo-dead #CoolKid, followed by a cover. Count of two, before Eden breaks it up with a kick to the head. She scurries back out to the apron as Necron slowly rises to his feet, casting her a menacing glare, which turns into a sadistic smile. Freak. He drags Pierce back to his feet and lifts him over his head in a body press. He turns and looks at Eden, before throwing Pierce at her corner, Travis crashing hard into the turnbuckle. Eden falls to the floor, landing awkwardly, and immediately grabbing at her ankle. Nekkie looks disappointed as trainers run out to check on Morgan, and tags Roxy into the matchup.
Slingshot crossbody onto Pierce finds its mark, and Cotton rolls him back into the ring, following closely and making the cover. Pierce with a kickout at two. Cotton pulling him back to his feet and whipping him into a neutral corner. She follows close behind, connecting with a handspring elbow that rocks the head of Pierce back. Roxy takes off towards the far ropes, as Pierce stumbles out of the corner, and the buxom blonde connects with a spinning heel kick that sends Pierce back down to the mat. Another cover, and again the Chaos Champion kicks out at two, as Roxy is unable to puer her Day of Reckoning opponent away. She slaps the mat in frustration, but then immediately gets to her feet and focuses back on Travis. Pulling him to his feet, she jumps into the air for a frankensteiner attempt, but Pierce counters with a powerbomb, and both entertainment professionals find themselves on the mat.
Praise Jesus! Eden Morgan is back up on the ring apron, and is imploring Travis to get to the corner, even though she looks to still be in pain from taking that spill moments ago. True champion, folks. Role model, in fact. Pierce slowly crawling over and finally makes the tag, Morgan quickly entering the ring and connecting with an elbow to the back of Roxy’s head, cutting her off mere inches from tagging out to Nekkie.
Eden pulling Roxy to her feet, only to send her back to the mat with a perfectly executed standing dropkick. Eden drops a knee across the bridge of Roxy’s nose, and then pulls her to her feet and sends her to the corner. Multiple high knees find their mark, and then a hesitation dropkick connects, Roxy falling to the mat like a ton of bricks. Cover made by Eden, and its broken up by Necron. Necron being in the ring causes Eden to hurriedly limp back to her corner, quickly tagging in a still recovering Travis, before she hits the mat and rolls out of the ring.
Pierce looking back at Eden in surprise, as Eden slowly backs up the ramp, trying to put more distance between herself and Necron. Clubbing blow to the back of Pierce’s head, and he never saw it coming. Necron is able to grab a hold of Pierce before ‘The Icon of Entertainment’ falls off the apron, turning him back around and grabbing him in a front facelock. He lifts Pierce high into the air, backpedaling to the middle of the ring, all while keeping his eyes firmly locked on Eden Morgan. Judgement Day from Necron, who slowly rises and continues glaring out at Eden, as Roxy crawls over and gets the three-count.
Winners: Necron and Roxy Cotton
Time: 11:18
Both competitors are accompanied by their respective partners for next week’s title match at Day of Reckoning, as commentary reminds us of Deimos and Raab’s success in winning Cooperative Roulette at WrestleStock.
Armdrag takedown by Raab to start the match, he looks to lock in an armbar, but Kenzi escapes. She scoots away and takes down a charging Raab with a drop toe hold, transitioning directly into a side headlock. She tries to get leverage on the much larger Raab, but he stands easily and lifts her into a side suplex. He comes off the ropes but is tripped up by Lacklan reaching through from the outside, Raab turns and glares at her as it goes unnoticed by Sam Green.
Raab turns around into a shotgun dropkick that knocks him back into a corner. Kenzi charges in and drives him back into the turnbuckle with a running crossbody tackle, she slides directly through the ropes onto the apron and climbs the turnbuckle. Raab stumbles out of the corner, and Kenzi leaps and takes him down with a hurricarana that sends him sprawling. She scrambles into a cover, but he shoves her off at two.
Raab gets back to his feet, Kenzi comes off the ropes for a spinning heel kick, but Raab catches her in the air and transitions into the Iceinator! Raab covers, but Lacklan puts Kenzi’s foot on the bottom rope, the action again going unnoticed by Sam Green as he only sees the foot on the ropes and waves off the cover. Commentary notes that through this, Deimos is silently watching from across the ring.
Raab pulls Kenzi back up, but she catches him with a back elbow and staggers him with forearm shots. She goes to whip him across the ring, but Raab reverses it, and Kenzi comes off the ropes right into a spinebuster by Raab. He picks her up in a waistlock and executes the Frozen Pin, pinning with a bridge, but Lacklan is up on the apron and has Sam Green distracted, arguing with him. Raab sees it and releases the pin, getting to his feet, and he walks over to confront her himself, with Lacklan putting her hands up and backing off the apron. Raab tells her to stay out, as behind him Kenzi is lining up for the One Hit Wonder, only for Deimos to slide in behind her and lift her into the Numbing! Sam Green saw it, and he calls for the bell!
Winner: Kenzi Grey by Disqualification
Time: 8:57
Raab stares at his partner in disbelief, as Lacklan reaches under the ropes and pulls Kenzi out, retreating up the ramp with both halves of the Cooperative Titles. Deimos simply stares at them as his partner wants an explanation for his actions.
Backstage, Eden checks into the Head Trainer’s office.
Both teams make their entrances, none of the participants looking too thrilled to be out there. Magdalena Lockheart yells at Vain to get out of the ring, and he simply smiles at her and performs the same mocking bow that he gave her a couple of weeks ago, before sliding out of the ring and taking a seat on the ring steps. Opposing Maggie to start this match is Zane Scott, who doesn’t give Lucy a chance to say anything before he steps out to the center of the ring.
Beginning moments of the match consist of Maggie attempting to use her speed advantage, but Zane cutting her off at the pass each time. Stiff clothesline eventually sends Maggie into her own corner, where Vain smiles up at her, as he maintains his seated position on the steps. Zane appears to ask Wallace if he wants to get into the ring, to which Wallace replies ‘No habla ingles’. True testament to the wrestling industry folks, that someone like Vain can have the success he has, with English apparently being his second language. Kudos, Senor Wallace.
Maggie fighting back now, connecting with a European Uppercut, and then sending Zane to the mat with a swinging neckbreaker. Maggie out to the apron now, performs a catapult leg drop that finds its mark on the throat of Zane Scott. Maggie back to her feet, heading towards the ropes for an attack, but Vain has made his way to the ring apron, and tags himself into the match with a slap to the back of Maggie, the force of which almost knocks her down. Vain ignores her glare as he applies a reverse chinlock to Zane Scott. Peterson admonishing Lockheart to exit the ring, as Vain smiles over at Lucy. Lucy doesn’t return the favor. Some people can be so rude.
Zane working his way back to his feet, connecting with back elbows to the gut of Wallace. Hip toss sends Vain to the mat, and a big boot sends him back into his own corner. Lockheart returns the favor from moments ago, tagging herself back into the match with a slap to the back of Vain’s neck. Wallace obviously pissed, as Lockheart steps through the ropes and goes face-to-face with him. Zane watches with feigned amusement, as Lockheart and Wallace begin arguing back and forth, all while Owen Peterson attempts to get Vain to exit the ring. The argument escalates, resulting in Lockheart shoving Vain back a couple steps. Wallace smiles, stepping forward the two steps he was knocked back, and then taking one more step, bumping Lockheart back. Maggie continuing to berate ‘the Vain One’, who ultimately winds up relenting, throwing his hands into the air and shaking his head in the affirmative. Lockheart bumps his shoulder as she moves past him, causing Vain to grab her by the arm and spin her around. He connects with a vicious right cross that sends Mags immediately to the mat, and then he looks to Zane and yells ‘You’re Welcome… Again’ to him.
Zane over towards Vain, Peterson in between them, and Zane winds up being inadvertently poked in the eye again as the two men scuffle. Vain hops down to the floor and reaches under the ring, pulling out a steel chair. Hopping back onto the apron, he ignores Peterson’s calls to drop the chair, and swings as Zane turns back towards him. The chair connects with a thud, as Peterson stares at Vain in disbelief. Before Owen can call for a disqualification, Vain jabs him in the chest with the chair, and then unceremoniously pulls him through the ropes, Owen falling to the floor and not moving. Vain steps through the ropes, and begins raining down blows from the chair onto his own partner. This finally brings Lucy in, who Vain simply tosses the chair to, before superkicking it into her face. He smiles as he looks at the carnage around him, as the entire arena boos the everloving shit out of him.
Wallace sees Zane getting to his feet, and picks the chair back up. He swings as Zane looks towards him, but Zane grabs the chair, and Wallace’s eyes grow big. Zane sinisterly smiles at him, the look accentuated by the blood that runs down his face, before he jerks the chair from Wallace, and then headbutts ‘Mr. Ego’ in the face. Vain stumbles back, trying to keep his balance, as Zane winds up and smashes the chair down acrross the top of Vain’s head. Tossing the chair to the side, Zane grabs Wallace and tosses him up into the air, and pummels him with Murderous Intent. Wallace on the mat now, trying to get back to his feet. Up to ohis hands and knees, he doesn’t see the Lacrimosa coming, and he eats the mat like he’s a fat kid hitting an ‘All You Can Eat’ ice cream buffet. To his credit, he valiantly tries to instinctively get to his feet, but his instincts force Lucy to admonish him to Keep Your Chin Up, the force of which sends Wallace through the middle and bottom ropes, where he crashes to the floor.
As Lucy and Maggie begin bickering back and forth, Zane Scott slips out of the ring and goes searching under it, pulling out a ladder. As he is going to slide it into the ring, Wylde and Lockheart connect with a double baseball slide dropkick, sending the ladder back into the face and chest of Zane, and knocking him to the floor. The two then turn their attention back towards one another, and all the frustrations from recent weeks come spilling out in a scene that has all of the male demographic standing at attention.
Double entendres, RULE!
Wylde ultimately whips Lockheart to the ropes, but Maggie hooks the top rope with both arms to halt her return. Undeterred, Wylde takes off towards her, connecting with a crossbody that sends both women tumbling over the top rope. Lucy is to her feet first, and then she pulls Maggie to hers. Maggie is sent first into the guardrail, and then shoulder-first into the ring post. Lucy grabs the arm of Lockheart and quickly falls to the floor, snapping downward in a version of an arm breaker that causes Maggie to writhe in pain. Lucy back to her feet, staring down at Maggie, and her face softens a bit as she realizes the pain that Maggie is in. She doesn’t have long to think about it though, as Zane Scott comes from out of nowhere and blasts her with a running boot to the back of the head.
Zane reaches under the table and pulls out a table, setting it up at ringside. He then walks over and grabs the ladder from before, and places it on the table. Dragging Lockheart to her feet, he opens the ladder up and shoves her in between in. She attempts to fight back, but he slams it down on her multiple times until she stops fighting back. He then grabs Lucy, connecting with vicious elbows to the back of her head, before lifting her high into the air, and powerbombing her onto the ladder. The force winds up causing the table to split, with Maggie still trapped in between the ladder on top of it, and Lucy laying across the top of it.
Zane grabs another ladder and shoves it into the ring, sliding in behind it and setting it up. He yells out at Mitchell Dennis to bring him the belts, which Mitchell reluctantly does. Zane slowly climbs to the top of the ladder, sitting on the very top of it, one leg dangling over each side. He holds both titles high over head, as he stares out at Alan Wallace, who has come to and is propped up against the steel guardrail. As the crowd cheers, Wallace painfully lifts both hands up, before providing Zane Scott an extremely slow golf clap, as the show comes to an end.
End Show

Eden Morgan and Travis Pierce vs Necron and Roxy Cotton

Kenzi Grey vs Konrad Raab

Lucy Wylde and Zane Scott vs Alan Wallace and Maggie Lockheart
