Welcome to this week's Synergy recap! I'm Brutus Weathertop, all set to bring you the not-so-live-but-live-to-you coverage of Synergy.
Outlast is just a week away! The teams are drafted and the champion awaits, but we still have a full night of Synergy to go, and we will see a preview as Necron leads two of his draftees against co-captains Eden Morgan and Gabriel Baal, and the freshly returned Rogan MacLean.
Two weeks ago on the Night of Appreciation for Sarah Lacklan, a battle royal was held and co-won by Angie Vaughn and Dave Rydell. They team together tonight to challenge Team Kickass for the Cooperative Championship.
Your Synergy coverage begins, now…

Before the show gets underway, Maggie Lockheart visits the Lord-Creative Director.
Wallace comes out last (lol Outlast) with a life-sized cardboard cutout of himself, and sets it on the apron next to Blackwell. He goes to walk toward the announce table, but the Lord Director comes out shaking his head vehemently. He accuses Wallace of stealing his originality, and when Wallace seems confused, Hastings reminds him of Fauxnovan Hasteboard or whatever it’s called. Wallace rolls his eyes when Hastings demands that he take part in the match. Donovan grabs the FauxVain and marches away with it. Aggravated, Wallace takes his place on the apron.
Jet and Liz start the match hot, and it’s immediately obvious that both competitors brought the fight. They’re trading haymakers back and forth, knocking each other back a few steps each time. The blows become faster and faster, with Blackwell and Somers closing their stances up. In short order they’re trading overhand slaps, until Blackwell finally blocks Jet’s swing and drives a knee up into his bread basket. She follows up with a Russian legsweep, then goes for the cover and a two.
Jet wants to stay fresh and returns to his corner to tag in Lockheart, who rushes in to continue the brutal pace of the match set up from bell’s ring. She returns the knee delivered to her partner earlier tenfold, viciously knocking Blackwell across the ring with MMA-style knee strikes that gets Jet roaring with approval from the corner. Maggie pushes Liz into the ropes and turns to whip her, but misses Wallace slapping the blind tag.
The Nightmare hits the ropes, and on the bounce back is met by a Sector 7 Press! Maggie is about to roll Liz up, but Wallace drives a stomp into the back of her head! Vain snatches her up for snap suplex, then slides out of the ring and leans against the security barrier with a confident smirk as he waits for her to recover. As Maggie pushes herself angrily to her feet, Alan slides in again, catching her with a Fameasser and sliding back out the other side! He leans against the barrier again, watching and chuckling as Lockheart pounds the mat in frustration and goes to push herself up again. Vain picks his moment and steps quickly to the ring and…
Chok from Jet Somers off the steel steps!! Somers rolls Vain into the ring, then quickly returns to his corner. Maggie stumbles to her feet and dives for the tag, and Somers rushes in! He leaps onto the second rope to set up for a Blackout, but Vain rolls out of the ring again. He begins heading up the ramp, holding his head from the punch he took and signalling toward the curtain. Blackwell stands on the apron, yelling at him to get back to the ring as Jet and Maggie share a look.
From backstage, Glenn comes rushing out, passing Wallace, who waves him toward the ring as he makes his way to the curtain. He leaps onto the apron and slides in, but Jet has tagged Maggie in and she hits the proxy like a freight train!! A leaping forearm drives him into the corner, and Lockheart doesn’t let up there. All Glenn can do is cover his face and head as she begins laying in mounted punches, but when she goes up for a hammerdrop elbow, Glenn slips free and rushes to his corner. Blackwell reaches out for a tag, but Jet yanks her off the apron, and they’re off in a brawl at ringside!!
Having no choice but to turn and face Lockheart in berserker mode. As she rushes at him, he leaps up in desperation and hits a Curtain Call! He looks stunned that he pulled it off, and the crowd is blowing up. He turns, wide eyed, and rushes to the corner where he begins to climb. Lockheart is slowly getting to her feet as Glenn gets to his feet on the top turnbuckle. He looks around, seeing that Blackwell has just hit Opie with Seeing Red, and he has his opening.
Maggie to her feet, Glenn leaps for the Money Maker… he’s short! He lands on the mat right at Lockheart’s feet. She looks down at him, shaking her head as she smiles. Maggie drags him up by his hair, then literally slings him through the ropes. She dives through the ropes and hits him with a forearm on the floor, and then just starts stomping on him. Blackwell appears, but she seems to be taking her time approaching while Maggie lifts Glenn up and starts slamming him face-first into the apron.
The real Alan Wallace is suddenly out here again, and he shoves past Blackwell to get at Maggie and Glenn. He’s actually yelling at his proxy for botching the finisher. Lockheart begins jawing at Vain, and by this point Jet has recovered and is making his way across the inside of the ring.
Blackwell begins yelling at Vain that Glenn is the legal man, but as he turns Maggie hits him with the Lunar Eclipse! He goes to push himself back up to his knees, but Jet suddenly flies through the ropes with the Jetstreamer! As he bounces off the security barrier, Blackwell shrugs and hits Vain with the Stroke of Midnight and walks away. Jet and Maggie roll the real Vain back into the ring, and Lockheart rolls in for the cover and the three!
As Jet joins her in the ring, it becomes clear that they’re not interested in celebrating. Maggie yanks him back to his feet, but Vain is frantically signalling for Glenn to get in the ring. Unbelievably, the battered proxy manages to get into the ring. Alan gestures for him to come take his place. Glenn looks at him incredulously, and suddenly all three of them are wailing on Wallace. Blackwell has already evacuated, and it looks like Wallace might not make it to Outlast!
He finally manages to roll out under the bottom rope and stumbles up the ramp to escape. Jet and Maggie give chase, and we follow the action to the back!
As he passes by other EPs in the back, they each just turn their back and shrug as he tries to get away to recover, and the announcers remind us that Alan Wallace is currently target number one this month. Eventually, he manages to duck into a locker room and slam the door before Jet and Maggie can get there. They stop outside the door, nodding to each other with a smile, their plan having come together perfectly.
Roxy Malone runs up.
Roxy: Maggie, Jet! What are you doing?
Maggie looks at Jet, who take the microphone.
Jet: Why do you act so shocked? We just yanked the rug out from under Alan Wallace, the man everyone is gunning for.
Maggie steps in.
Maggie: To be honest, the rest of UGWC should be thanking us.
With that they shake hands and go their separate ways.

All six competitors make their entrances, with Rogan MacLean receiving a nice ‘Welcome Back’ chant from the Chicago faithful. The man known as ‘Fear’ will start the match out for his team, and Rogan looks to be starting for his team.
Both men give the other a slight nod as the bell rings, and a collar-and-elbow tie-up ensues, with Rogan applying a side headlock. Deimos shrugs him off and shoots him towards the ropes, and a shoulder block sends MacLean down to the mat. Deimos runs the ropes as MacLean gets back to his feet; Rogan drops back down to the mat as Phrix jumps over him. Deimos off the opposite ropes, ducking under as MacLean performs a leapfrog. Deimos back off the ropes, and is sent to the mat with a hip toss. Fear back up, arm-dragged back down. Deimos back up again, attempting a lock-up, but MacLean maneuvers in behind him and rolls him up with a schoolboy, getting a one-count, before Fear kicks out.
Both back to their feet, MacLean connecting with a boot to the stomach cof Fear, before lifting him into the air and connecting with a snap suplex. Rogan pops his hips and rolls through, lifting Fear back into the air into another snap suplex. Another pop of the hips and roll through, and a falcon arrow gets a two-count, but Phrix is able to get his shoulder up. Fameasser as Deimos is attempting to get back to his feet, and Rogan is back up and heading towards the ropes. Necron yanks the top rope down, MacLean tumbling over it and out of the ring, landing hard on the floor.
Necron hopping down to the floor as Baal and Morgan are bitching at Brian Chartreuse. Necron jerking Rogan to his feet and connecting with a short-arm clothesline, keeping a hold of the arm of MacLean and holding him up on his feet. Necron wraps his hand around the throat of MacLean, lifts him high into the air, and tosses him back-first into the steel ring post. Necron then shoves MacLean back into the ring, where Deimos is waiting. Phrix with The Numbing, but his pin attempt is broken up by Gabriel Baal.
Necron tags himself into the match at this point, Fear glaring at him a moment, before stepping out onto the apron. Necron ripping Rogan to his feet and sending him to the ropes. Huge spinebuster, and Rogan bounces completely off the mat. Rogan attempting to get back to his feet and is up to his hands and knees, and Necron connects with a punt kick. ‘The Grim Harvester’ makes the cover, but both Eden and Gabriel enter the ring to break up the pin attempt. Necron quickly back up to his feet, connecting with a right hand to Eden that rocks her back into the corner. Baal is hit with an uppercut that sends him through the ropes, but he is able to hook the ropes to keep from falling to the floor. Necron takes off towards Eden, but she gets both feet up, kicking Necron in the face and staggering the big man. Baal back up to his feet, reaching up and grabbing the top of Necron’s head, and dropping down to the floor, Necron hitting the top rope throat first. Baal back into the ring, both him and Eden each grabbing one of Necron’s legs and jerking him off his feet. Double groin stomp, and Chartreuse threatens a DQ, but stops himself when he notices Necron smiling.
Sick bastard.
Eden and Gabriel both back out on the apron now, as Necron is working his way back to his feet. Mercy Killing from MacLean, and he caught all of it. Rogan with the cover, but Bordy breaks it up at two-and-a-half. Rogan makes the tag to his former EOC cohort, and Baal connects with a DDT. Necron still trying to get back to a vertical base, and Baal channeling his inner ‘Vaughnemation’ and begins peppering the chest of Necron with YES! Kicks. Follows that up with a Freudian Slip and then makes the cover. Necron powers out at one, and Baal looks surprised as he backs into his own corner. Eden tags in, with Baal just looking at her in confusion.
Facebuster from Eden onto Necron, with Nekkie rolling through and propping himself into the corner. Hesitation dropkick connects, with Eden following it up with a running hip attack and violently sends Necron’s head into the middle turnbuckle. High knees finding their mark, before Eden grabs Necron by the head and struggles to pull him to his feet. She hops up onto the top turnbuckle, grabbing Necron in a front facelock, and setting up for a tornado DDT. Necron shrugs her off, throwing her three-quarters of the way across the ring. Necron takes off towards Eden, but Eden moves and Necron slams chest-first into the corner. Bordy reaches out and slaps Necron on the chest, making her the legal participant in the match.
Edenreaches towards her corner, Rogan tagging into the match, as Baal enters and beelines across the ring, landing a clubbing blow to Fear that knocks him off the ring apron. Morgan refocuses on Necron, connecting with The Hard Way, but Necron shrugs it off and hits a thunderous chokeslam on UGWC’s Sweetheart, Eden rolling out of the ring and onto the floor. Baal and Rogan begin double-ing up on Necron, Bordy entering the ring behind them and barreling into the back of Rogan with a running back elbow. A rake to the eyes stops Baal in his tracks, allowing Necron the opportunity to connect with a big boot to ‘The Serpent’. Bear hug from Bordy onto MacLean, and Le Bord begins pummeling MacLean with headbutts. Rogan fighting back, as Necron lifts Baal into the air and walks over towards the side of the ring, tossing Gabriel out onto Eden just as she gets back to her feet. Rogan goes for a Tiger Driver ‘91, but Le Bord slips out of the hold, landing behind him. Reverse neckbreaker onto MacLean, and then a snapmare takes him off his feet. Bordy glances over at Necron, the two of them making eye contact, before she connects with L’etreinte de Dieu to get the three count..
Winners: Necron, Le Bord de Dieu, and Phrixus Deimos

We are shown a Kem Dynamo vignette.
Raab takes up a boxing stance in the opening moments, his hands up as he cautiously approaches Zane, feints an attack and backs away, Zane lunges with a right hand, but Raab ducks it and responds with body blows. He backs Zane into the ropes, but Zane ducks under a right hook and switches positions with Raab, chopping him in the chest against the ropes. Zane whips Raab across the ring and catches him on the return with a running boot to the face. Zane covers, but Raab kicks out right away.
Overhead release suplex by Zane, and Zane unloads on his grounded opponent with a series of knee strikes. Owen Peterson backs Zane away with Raab in the ropes, and Raab pulls himself along the ropes to the corner. Zane charges in for a running knee, but Raab moves out of the way and Zane runs into the corner. Zane stumbles out, and Raab wraps him up and a waistlock and hits a German suplex. Raab maintains the hold and rolls the back to their feet, releasing on the second German suplex. Raab props himself up on the second rope and leaps off for a knee drop, shoots the half and gets a two count.
Raab brings Zane back to his feet, but Zane knocks him back with a forearm strike. Raab retaliates with one of his own, comes off the ropes but runs into a two-handed sledge strike to the face. Zane powerbombs Raab into the corner before setting him up across the top turnbuckle. Zane delivers multiple elbow strikes to the lower back, now sets Raab up on his shoulders for the Welcome to the ER, but as he runs towards the center of the ring Raab floats off and lands on his feet, Zane turns around right into the Iceinator, but Zane is again able to get his shoulder up at two.
Raab pulls Zane up into a waistlock, looking for the Frozen Pin, but Zane throws back with an elbow and knocks Raab away. Zane grabs him, looking for Piercing Misery, but Raab knocks his arm away and knocks Zane down with a dropkick. Raab with a clothesline, but Zane sidesteps it and lifts Raab into the Antidote, covers but Raab kicks out at two. Zane wastes no time gutwrench lifting Raab into the Splatter Effect and covers again, but Raab again gets his shoulder up before the three.
Zane can’t believe Raab kicked out again, and he stands and just shakes his head. Zane brings Raab back to his feet but catches a European Uppercut, and Raab plants Zane with a spinebuster, and both men are down. Owen Peterson starts the ten count, but both men begin to stir at six, with Raab getting to his feet first. Raab knocks Zane down repeatedly with a series of clothesline, building momentum, before planting him with an arm trap chickenwing suplex. Raab steps through the ropes and climbs the turnbuckle, steadying himself before leaping into the air, but Zane explodes up off the mat and catches him in the air with Murderous Intent! Zane collapses onto Raab for the three!
Winner: Zane Scott
Time: 12:47
Zane gingerly gets back to his feet. He applauds Raab as he gets back up as well, and Zane extends a hand, which after a moment Raab shakes and they exchange a nod. Raab raises Zane’s arm and leaves the ring to allow him to celebrate.
Backstage, Eden Morgan goes to see the head trainer.
Match Needed
It’s Main Event time and the Co-Operative Championships are the prize to be won as The Cool Kids take on the odd-couple pairing of Cool Kid Angelica Vaughn and UGWC veteran and multi-time Cross-Hemisphere Champion Dave Rydell. The challengers enter first as Angelica enters to a thunderous and enthusiastic welcome and then waits at the top of the ramp for her all of a sudden partner Rydell. Rydell enters and his reception is… somewhat less positive. The two walk down to the ring together, showing an early attempt at teamwork. They enter the ring together and after Sam Green checks. He clears them and it’s time for the Champions to enter.
The Champions enter to a massive cheer and hold their Co-Operative Championships high. They do their signature fist bump to a loud explosion of pyro, which continues as they walk to the ring. Once they’re in the ring, Sam Green checks them while Kenzi holds her championship on her shoulder and Sarah engages in a brief pre-match screed until Kenzi stops her. Sam takes the championships from them and shows them to the crowd, then hands them to Time Keeper Claude de Rhombus. He walks to center ring and calls for the bell.
Sarah starts against Dave Rydell. The opening of the match is slow, with Sarah trying to use her greater speed, agility and deviousness against his height, power and viciousness. At first it’s obvious that the two are feeling each other out, with Sarah darting in to land strikes on his legs and ankles while Rydell tries to pummel and throw her around the ring. At the end of the exchange, we end up with a slightly hobbed Rydell, whose right ankle is clearly a bit sore laying against the ropes flexing his foot, while Sarah ends up crumpled in her own corner after Rydell literally threw her half way across the ring into the ring post.
Kenzi tags herself in leaps into the ring as Sarah rolls to the outside and drops to the floor. Kenzi darts across to the ring, dodges under a clothesline attempt, slides back to her feet and sends Rydell reeling with a quick dropkick. She keeps the pressure on and focuses on his already weakened ankle with repeated low dropkicks, MMA foot strikes, stomps and finally a springboard moonsault to the foot after she finally takes him down.
While this is happening, Angelica stands in her corner with a pained and conflicted look on her face, although she’s spent the entire time yelling encouragement to her impromptu Co-Operative partner. This encouragement clearly irritates Sarah, and while Kenzi seems slightly bothered by it, she appears to be resigned to it. Kenzi goes to her corner and tags Sarah, who leaps over the top rope and into the ring. The two storm across the ring and intercept Rydell right as he’s inches away from tagging Angelica in. Two two pull him back to center ring, set him up and flatten him with a leg sweep and superkick combination. They earn the first two count of the match with “The Falcon Punch”, but it’s broken up by Angelica when she yanks Sarah off of him.
Sarah springs to her feet and shoots a dagger glare at Angelica, who looks upset that her friend is angry at her. Sarah stalks her into the neutral corner and proceeds to verbally dress her down and is only interrupted when Kenzi walks over and physically pushes her back to their corner. The two women have a short corner conference before Sarah walks back out to center ring, where she meets Angelica. The two briefly speak before they appear to at least momentarily smooth things over. The two resume the match and the next few minutes consist of two women who know each other extremely well jockeying for position before Angelica uses her superior height and the power from her long legs and shoves the much smaller Sarah to the mat. Sarah immediately kips up and the two proceed to trade move for move and counter move for counter move until Angelica takes her down with a bicycle kick before she collapses to the mat herself.
In all the chaos, everyone seems to have forgotten that Kenzi is actually the legal competitor.
Except for Kenzi. She darts into the ring, pulls up Angelica and lays her out with the “Breakout Performance”. Sam goes to tell her that she’s not the legal member of her team, but suddenly stops when he realizes that she is. Kenzi drops to the mat and gets to two before Anglica kicks out. Sam turns and steps out of the way just in time to avoid Rydell, who yanks Kenzi up, drops her with “The Virus of Life” and then pulls Angelica to their corner before he tags himself in. He runs over and drops onto Kenzi for the pin, but only gets a two before Sarah breaks it up with a double ax handle to the back of his head.
Rydell leaps to his feet and charges at Sarah, but is pushed back by Sam as Sarah steps out to the apron with a taunting...gesture... for good measure. Rydell responds with a smile before he turns his focus to Kenzi. He walks over, pulls her to her feet and proceeds to ragdoll her around the ring before he crushes her with “The Tip of the Spear”. He drops down for an arrogant cover but only gets a two before she kicks out. He looks up at Sam and tells him that his count is too slow, but Sam just shrugs at him.
Rydell pulls Kenzi to her feet, but she catches him off guard and rolls him up. He kicks out at one, leaps up and nearly turns her inside out with a clothesline. He turns and makes an...impolite gesture at Sarah, which draws a smile from her but a squeal of displeasure from his own partner. He turns to go after Kenzi and eats a “One Hit Wonder”. Both of them fall to the mat and Sam begins the count. At four, Kenzi starts to stir. At six Rydell lifts his head and looks to his corner. At seven Kenzi begins to crawl to her corner. At eight Rydell staggers to his feet and lunges at his corner, not noticing that Kenzi has done the same.
They tag their respective partners at the exact same time and both dash into the ring to a thunderous cheer. The two blitz into the ring, but this time Sarah goes low, ducks under Angelica and drops her with a chop block. She mounts her friend and begins to rain down rights and lefts on her, letting her ire out in an explosion of violence that’s so severe that it even takes Kenzi aback. She batters her with rights and lefts and when she bores of that, she switches to her side and proceeds to drive knee strike after knee strike into Angelica’s ribs until Angelica is yelling out in pain.
She leaps to her feet and throws her arms out in celebration, only to receive a loud boo in return. She smirks, grabs Angelica by the wrist and drops her into a Fujiwara farmbar. Angelica begins to shriek in pain, but refuses to submit, no matter how much Sarah taunts her. Unfortunately for Sarah, in her exuberance to hurt Angelica, she’s lost track of Angelica’s ring positioning as the leggy blonde is near enough to the ropes to drape her bottom leg across it. Sam sees it and immediately starts the count. Sarah lets his count get to four before she breaks her hold.
She gets to her feet and drags Angelica to center ring, then pulls her up and slams her fist into Angelica’s face with the “Cop Killa”. Angelica crumples to the mat and Sarah drops on top of her with a somewhat arrogant cover. Unfortunately for her that cover gives Angelica enough room to kick out after two and a half. Sarah gets to her feet, clearly frustrated by Angelica’s tenacity. On the outside, Kenzi looks genuinely concerned for both Sarah and Angelica, while Rydell looks impressed by Angelica’s tenacity.
Sarah pulls Angelica up, sets her up and drops her with “The Abyss”. That too only gets a two, much to Sarah’s mounting ire. Rydell applauds Angelica from their corner, which only seem to annoy Sarah even further. She proceeds to get into a jawing match with him, which gives Angelica valuable time to recover.
She slowly pushes herself to her feet and lines Sarah up and when Sarah turns around, she blasts her with a Sick Kick that sends her to the mat. Vaughn goes for #Vaughemous Kick but Lacklan rolls out of the way, connects with Shining Wizard. Sarah passes up opportunity for a pin and gets a microphone, leans down and tells Vaughn she doesn’t have what it takes, Vaughn surprises her and jams her fingers in her mouth, clamping on the EW! Lacklan flails about, the microphone that is still in her hand picking up her muffled screams, and she taps out.

Konrad Raad vs Zane Scott
Cooperative Championship
Team Kickass vs Angelica Vaughn and Dave Rydell
Team Kickass vs Angelica Vaughn and Dave Rydell
