The Unified Global Wrestling Coalition is pleased to announce the 2019 WrestleStock Open Invitational.
WrestleStock is an annual festival promoted by UGWC for the purpose of celebrating the wrestling community. This year, the three day festival will be held from July 4-July 6th, 2019. Traditionally, each day of the festival has a different theme, with a variety of matches and activities being held throughout the grounds, with the World Heavyweight Championship being defended on the final day. For the fourth consecutive year, the final day of the festival will also feature the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Additionally, UGWC invites other promotions to hold a sanctioned match at the festival as well.
While WrestleStock has traditionally focused on history and legacies, this year UGWC invites all active wrestlers and promotions to join with the UGWC Entertainment Professionals to celebrate our vocation. There are two ways to participate.
First, UGWC invites any active wrestler to participate in a featured match at the festival against a member of another promotion, or possibly a member of the UGWC roster itself.
These spotlighted matches will take place throughout the festival, with the most outstanding performers advancing to a match on the final day of the festival, with the winner being recognized as the 2019 WrestleStock Cup Winner.
Over the past three years the WrestleStock Open has featured participants from Carnage Wrestling, EPW, OCW, OWF, UGWC, WWA, and free agents from throughout the industry. Past winners include Jesse Williams, Kem Dynamo, Sarah Selena Lacklan, and Kenzi Grey.
UGWC is excited to extend this invitation to all members of the wrestling community.
How this will work:
Handlers: Any individual from any e-fed may sign up to participate as an individual. You will be given a match against another individual from a different home e-fed, potentially from UGWC itself if any members choose to participate. Depending on the volume of participation, multi-person matches may be scheduled. You will be expected to write and post one roleplay during the week of June 23, with a deadline of June 29. This one roleplay will be the only required participation for the entire festival. Winners will be determined by the UGWC moderators.
New for 2019:: The festival will also feature competition for the UGWC Cross-Hemisphere Championship. While the format for this is yet to be determined, it is open to outside participants as well. While WrestleStock Cup RPs have no limit, Cross-Hemisphere Title RPs for the festival have a 1,000 word maximum. You may choose to compete for either or both, but participating in both will require two separate RPs. Winners will be determined by a traditional UGWC roster vote, which you are welcome to participate in. The winner is expected to be available for future title defenses.
Promotions: If a promotion would like to have a featured match from their promotion be hosted at the event (both title and non-title acceptable) they may do so. Winners of these matches will be determined by the featured promotion's fed-head.
Sign-Ups: A specific thread will be set up on the Roster Board here for individual handlers to post bios and announce their participation. Please indicate if your participation will be for the WrestleStock Cup or the Cross-Hemisphere Title. Fed-Heads interested in having a featured match should PM me directly or PM our twitter account.
Any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
