[Our vision opens in familiar surroundings; we are in Travis Roberts’ ‘grand hall’. ‘The Blessed One’ is sprawled across a chaise longue but with his hands slowly running down his face in a display of frustration, whilst eD cASe paces around him, jaw flapping, fuzzy yellow arms flailing and eyes wide open. Craig Futile also joins the pair, sat in an armchair silently looking on at the display our muppet friend is putting on…]
eD – “My God Travis! Why aren’t you even a little pissed off…you were spawled out on his couch yesterday as if you could trust him! Clearly that’s not the case….Komosube….Brandon Brown…AND Lord Deathman, in a handicap match! Why the hell would he do that, what possible reason would he have for putting you in that position….he owns the damn company, he can change the card anytime he wants…”
[Travis peers over at Craig, rolling his eyes and sighing deeply. Futile responds by shrugging his shoulders in such a way, as if to say, ‘what did you expect?’. eD oblivious to this just keeps on ranting.]
eD – “It’s not like I didn’t warn you, hell it’s not like Deathman didn’t warn you. The guy is bad news, that damn Penguin is an invited guest round his place, he doesn’t break in like he does here…what more proof do you need….Declan Prescott just cannot be trusted! First off he instigates ‘The Revolution’ with you, and just when you’ve made enemies of the entire company, he decides to retire! Leaving you to take the rest of them on single handidly! And just to highlight the fact you’re on your own, he sets up this handicap match a WEEK before you’re Number 1 Contender match for the Global Heavyweight Title! Everyone else can see it, why the hell can’t you…”
[At this moment, eD’s flow is interrupted by the sound of the front doorbell being rung. Travis eyes light up and he leaps to his feet…]
Travis – “’The Blessed One’ will get that”
[eD opens his mouth to make an objection but Travis quickly uses the excuse to escape the henpecking of his long time agent. He makes his way down the expansive hallway, stopping occasionally to exam small, bullet like, holes in the wall, and mutter “Damn Penguin!”. He gets to the door, and swings it open. The Camera suddenly switches it’s view to outside, and we see Travis' look of expectation change to one of complete disappointment.
The reason for ‘The Blessed One’ becoming suddenly underwhelmed then greets us as the camera switches to see the visitor. Standing nervously in Travis' entranceway, shuffling his feet, stands former GIW Man Champ Brandon McSkinny. He looks nervous, and glances behind his back, as if he suspects he is being followed]
Travis – “…?”
Skinny – “TRAVEEES I NEED TO TALK TOO YOOOOU, DECLEEEEN IS IN TR….”
SLAM!
[Travis merely swings the door shut in Skinny’s face. With the huge slam and resultant wind Skinny is knocked backwards by the shot and only just remains on his feet. He quickly recovers and starts jogging down Travis grounds jumping and knocking on each window as Travis walks back to his Grand Hall. Travis responds by pulling down the blinds on each window and blocking out the hopping and squealing former man champ. Finally Brandon reaches the last window, his emotions are clear to see, he hammers on the window, pleading with ‘The Headliner’ to hear him out, only for Travis to ignore him one final time. This rejection causes Skinny to slump to his knee’s, he rests his head against ‘The Blessed One’s wall and looks up to the sky, with pure anguish twisting across his face, and the moonlight sparkles in his watered up eyes. He then gets to his feet, and dejectedly starts to make the long walk down Travis’ driveway…
We are then transported back to Travis’ main entertaining room. As he enters through the double doors, eD can be seen rising from his seat and launches back into his questions…]
eD- “Who was that? What was it about?”
Travis – “In the name of all that is TWiSTeD, will you shut the fuck up Lil’ man, you’re giving ‘The Headliner’ one hell of a headache…If you really must know it was that misfit McSkinny…”
eD – “That drunk that was at Declan’s apartment yesterday? Why the hell was he here? Are you keeping more secrets from us Travis? What the hell have you got yourself into with Prescott? This was meant to be our triumphant return to the industry, this guy is gonna use you to make himself bigger! Then he’ll discard you as he has so many others. What the hell do you know about this guy? I hear the police have him under surveillance, that’s not what we need here Travis, that could ruin everything. Why am I the only one that seems to care that you are gonna get screwed over by the sneaky rat Presc…”
Travis – “Stop right their my furry friend, you are closer than you have ever been from entering the peaceful state that overtakes one’s body after experiencing the effects of a ‘White Out’. Travis Roberts honestly doesn’t know who has it worse, Declan Prescott or ‘The Blessed One’”
eD – “What the hell’s that meant to mean?”
Travis – “He’s got that incompetent, bumbling, mangina flaunting, walking advert for abortion McSkinny shackled to him for god knows how long. ‘The Blessed One’ on the other hand has you eD. For nearly a decade you’ve been Travis Roberts’ agent, and still in all that time you fail to trust ‘The Headliners’ Judgement, you question ‘The TWiSTeD Icon’s every move, in eight and a half years you have yet to learn that Travis Roberts is purely, and simply, a lot smarter than you…and pretty much most of the people he meets. Very few people in this world, can match The Blessed One’s intellect, the likes of Declan Prescott and Craig Futile don’t just grow on tree’s. “
eD – “So what are you saying? You just let me hang around because you feel sorry for me, because I’m some kind of joke? You don’t think I’m even partly responsible for where you are today?”
Travis – “There you go again, proving you’re not on ‘The Blessed One’s level. You know as well as Travis Roberts’ that you’ve done a hell of a lot for the career of the ‘TWiSTeD Icon’. You’re good with all that stuff ‘The Blessed One’ doesn’t have time for, you get the contracts sorted, you go to meetings with advertising reps, so that ‘The Headliner’ doesn’t have to listen to their drivel. If your intellect matched that of ‘Travis Roberts’ you’d be as easily bored by those routine, mundane and simple duties as Travis Roberts is…but you thrive on them.”
eD – “Then why the hell don’t you listen to me? Prescott is a BAD deal, I know them, I’ve overseen plenty of them…”
Travis – “You’ve been the sole cause of many as well. You know next to nothing about what it takes to succeed inside the arena, when battle commences, ‘The Blessed One’ does not need your advice regarding that…Declan Prescott is a far better source for advice and debate…”
eD – “But he’s not gonna look out for your best interests, I do…”
Travis – “It all comes down to trust eD. You quite obviously don’t trust ‘The Blessed One’ to look out for his own interests do you? For some reason you think ‘The Headliner’ is unable to look out for himself? Well Travis Roberts has done a pretty good job of it so far. You seem to think ‘The TWiSTeD Icon” was unaware this match would be made, you think ‘The Revolution’ don’t discuss every move we make in detail? You’re obvious lack of trust is clear to Travis Roberts.
On the other hand Declan Prescott trusts ‘The Blessed One’ enough to make this match. Unlike yourself eD, ‘The Significant Player’ has confidence that Travis Roberts can best the last three holders of the Global Heavyweight Title in one night. He trusts that by the end of Sentinel ‘The Blessed One’ will have humiliated his opponent and the main event buddies a week before EI8HT, and make clear exactly what level ‘The Headliner’ conceives them to be on.
Travis Roberts will simply urge you to be confident that ‘The Blessed One’ will ensure that Komosube, Brandon Brown and General D-Mike will each receive a match, they will each be made aware of just how much more superior ‘The Headliner’ is to each of them. By the end of Sentinel, you and all the doubters like you, will see how truly coherent ‘The Revolution actually are”
[The front door bell rings again, and Travis once again decides to use the excuse to leave, figuring even Skinny is better than eD’s bleating. As he exits the hall the scene fades out.
When it fades back in we see Brandon McSkinny leaving the grounds of Travis Roberts’ mansion. A taxi is waiting with it’s meter still running, and Skinny climbs in and drives away. The Camera then zooms out and we see, parked 100 feet down the road, with lights off, a black Mustang. The Camera soon focuses on the vehicle, and we see none other than Detective Douglas Maguire sitting behind the wheel. Once the cab has fully exited the area, the Detective slowly steps out of the car, and looks up towards Travis’ huge estate. He then turns to the car, kneels down and begins to stroke the headlights whilst whispering softly…]
Maguire – “My Darling Selena, I love you so, once I get this bitch locked up I’ll get you fixed right up, despite you’re injuries you are still my girl, this may be the break I have been looking for…stay safe my darling…”
[The Detective then rises to his feet and begins to strut up towards the entrance to Travis’ estate. He notices there is not gate, or security fences, merely a driveway leading up to the large house beyond. He begins to make his way up the drive, and the camera fades out…
When it fades back in we are greeted by Travis Roberts opening the door, his expression conveys confusion at the sight of an LAPD Law Enforcement Badge being thrust in his face…]
Maguire – “Travis Roberts isn’t it? You’re business partners with Declan Prescott right?”
Travis – “Something like that, yeah”
Maguire – “Something like that?...You know who I am right?”
Travis – “Can’t say ‘The Blessed One’ is familiar with your work officer…”
Maguire – “Detective, and you know that you gangly punk, you know I’m gonna bust your partners whote of a wife for murder…”
Travis – “Look…if Travis Roberts promised…to make sure she never…sings the national Anthem again can we forget about all of this? She definately deserves punsihment for murdering those notes, but it's hardly a police matter is it?”
Maguire – “This ain’t no joke! Why the hell is Precott’s runner boy coming to you? He hiding evidence? You know what a nasty piece of work you’re dealing with Mr Roberts? You know he’ll use you to protect that slut of a girlfriend of his don’t you? Whatever you are hiding, show me, tell me, cause I’ll find out soon enough, and when I do, you’ll go down for co-conspiracy to cover up a murder!”
Travis –*SIGHS**ROLLS EYES* “Is ‘The Headliner’ under arrest? Or do you have a search warrant?”
Maguire – “I don’t need them to tell you you can’t trust Declan Pre – “
SLAM!!!
