[The scene opens and we are once again inside Travis Roberts’ home, and more specifically in his ‘Grand Ballroom’. On this occasion a party is in full swing, For those of you who are new to GIW, you may not fully appreciate the vast nature of this room, the current goings on will help highlight the scale of this room. Currently approximately fifty guests are milling around, conversing in groups of thee or four, whilst a team of around twenty stewards and stewardesses hand out drinks and nibbles. A string quintet sit in one corner playing classical interpretations of some of Monster Magnet’s greatest songs. Despite the number in the room nearing one hundred, it still seems vast and spacious, there is no need for people to squeeze past one another, or knock one another’s drinks from their hands.
The vast oak doors to the room swing open and Travis Roberts and Craig Futile appear in it’s frame. The door still sporting a large hole where Komosube smashed his fist through it a couple of weeks ago. The guests begin to applaud and cheer for the arrival of ‘The Blessed One’, he stands and soaks in the adulation of the guests, and then motions with his hands for them to stop, and then he speaks.]
Travis – “Travis Roberts would like to thank you all for coming tonight, ‘The Headliner’ sees a lot of unfamiliar faces here tonight which suggests ‘The Revolution’ is gaining steam. Tonight is a night to celebrate the past defeat of Lord, Deathman and the future defeat of Komosube, a night to celebrate ‘The TWiSTeD Guerrilla’ earning his shot at the Global Heavyweight Title in little under a month. Now get back to having a good time…”
[The crowd once again begin to applaud and cheer, as Craig takes Travis and introduces him to some of the guests, soon the party continues on as before Travis’ arrival. Craig leads ‘The Blessed One’ over to a women in a flowing green dress, who is sipping on a glass of Champagne.]
Craig – “This is Annette Lyman, she is Head of Acquisitions and the Creative Department at NBC. Miss Lyman this is Travis Roberts…”
[Travis takes Annettes hand and tenderly kisses the top, looking over his glasses into her eyes, he smiles and then stands upright]
Travis – “It’s a Pleasure to meet you Miss Lyman…”
Annette – “Please call me Annette, and the pleasure is all mine. You’re comeback has been truly amazing, only a few years ago you were lying in a coma, the industry had forgotten about you, but only a few short months after your return you’re back at the top once more.”
Travis – “So you’re a fan…”
Annette – “I was, until you disappeared from the scene, and your return reinvigorated my interest…”
Travis – “Taste and brains as well as Beauty, ‘The Headliner’ doesn’t have to imagine why you have been successful in your chosen career…”
Annette – “That’s a lovely thing to say, and coming from someone like yourself, strength, brains and movie star good looks…”
Travis – “What can Travis Roberts say? They don’t call him ‘The Blessed One’ for nothing”
[Annette begins to giggle frantically, and tosses her hair behind her neck, Travis looks towards Craig over the rim of his glasses, with an expression which is unmistakably one pleading for an escape route, but Craig merely turns away. Annette ceases her giggling and begins talking again.]
Annette – “Let me get straight to the point Travis, are you thinking of returning to Hollywood anytime soon?”
Travis – “No, ‘The Headliner’ has bad memories of the movie business, Wrestling is ‘The Blessed Ones’ industry, there is no need to go looking elsewhere…”
Annette – “Have you ever thought of Reality TV? A man of your stature and charisma would pull in major ratings…”
Travis – “Ha Ha! ‘The Blessed One’ doesn’t have time to have an army of TV Camera’s following his every move, these guys *motions towards the camera crew* get access to me once a week and during shows. ‘The Headliner’ is far too busy promoting GIW across the country, to indulge in an exercise in Ego stroking…”
Annette – “Have you seen the money you could make, we here at NBC would be willing to offer you a very generous contract, plus merchandising rights…”
Travis – “’The TWiSTeD Guerrilla’ is not motivated by money Annette, nor superficial fame and adulation. Everything ‘The Blessed One’ has ever held, he has worked for, strained for, and deserves. It would not be in Travis Roberts’ style to make money purely from just existing. And ‘The Headliner’ truly has no time, helping get the word of GIW out across the nation is time consuming. So even if Travis Roberts was interested, it wouldn’t be possible…’
Annette – “That’s a shame, we here at NBC were really keen to work with you and help expand the GIW brand…”
Travis – “Look, Annette, if you are that keen on this idea, why don’t you take it to some of the guys that have the time? ‘The Headliner’ guarantees you’d get high ratings from tailing Chris Austin…sure the guy doesn’t have a lot to say, and he can’t match ‘The Blessed Ones’ charisma…but it would sure be an eventful 22 minutes of TV each week. Or what about Lord, Deathman, now that’s a guy Travis Roberts would want to switch on the TV and watch in their everyday life…Materialising in Restaurants demanding to be served…anyway ‘The TWiSTeD Icon’ is in demand tonight, have a great evening”
[Travis turns from Annette, who reaches into her Mobile Phone and frantically starts to make a call, and Craig joins him at his side]
Craig – “And you were worried the corporate guests wouldn’t have a clue about the industry…she was obviously a big fan of yours…”
Travis – “Sure…that or she had a team of 9 year olds do research on ‘The Blessed One’…it’s not like Travis Roberts’ life is top secret, you can’t keep the history of ‘The Most Influential Icon In Sports Entertainment This Millenia’ under wraps…”
[Suddenly a hand grabs Travis, and we look over to a burly man, with a severe case of red eye, shaking Travis’ hand]
Craig – “Ah this is Xavier Bryan, manager of GIW tag team War and Peace…”
Travis – “No introductions necessary, ‘The Blessed One’ was an admirer of this guys work back before the Coma. How are your boys doing, settling in well?”
Xavier – “They are doing just fine. Ezekiel got a few cuts and bruises from the Parking Lot Brawl last weekend, but he’s a tough kid and knows how to manage pain. As for Marek, he’s looking forward to his match at Sentinel, he gets a shot at Gaffney…as well as Mickey Dragon, and he knows a lot about the Dragon…”
Travis – “Well it’s great to see someone from the industry here, ‘The Blessed One’ was worried only corporate zombies had been invited…”
Xavier – “Oh I wasn’t invited. We couldn’t get hold of Yoda….and dude we are almost dry. Was wondering if ya could lend us a few bags till Yoda resurfaces…”
Travis – “Travis Roberts can do better than that, go out the door, take the stairs, second door on the left, and there be Yoda! ‘The Headliner’ ensures he is always on site whenever ‘The Blessed One’ holds a soiree…”
Xavier – “Dude…you’re a legend! We won’t forget this…”
[With that Xavier turns sharply and darts off in the direction of the doors, Travis turns and his eye is caught by a Buxom Young Lady, but soon frowns when he notices she is in conversation with eD cASe, who is wildly gesticulating in the direction of Travis, whilst simultaneously clutching a jar of pickles and plucking them whole and shoving them in his puppet mouth (don’t ask me where it goes). Travis walks up to the pair.]
Travis – “eD…’The Headliner’ sees you have brought your own snacks…and whom is this vision of beauty that you are traumatising for life?”
eD – “This is Honey Swelling, she wants to be a GIW In-Ring worker, and I was just telling her about how I’m your agent, and about my role in your glorious ride to the top…”
[eD looks at Travis imploring him to go along with the story, desperately trying to get over to Travis the fact he might possibly get ‘some’ from this. When ‘The Blessed One’ finally comprehends what eD’s furious face scrunching is meant to communicate, his own face transforms into one of pure shock and revulsion…but before he can speak a word, the huge window just behind them shatters inward…
And a glowing white horse comes crashing through the glass, landing gracefully on the floor, and rearing up majestically. As its front feet hit the ground, we see the rider is none other than The Crimson Ghost, who sits aloft this mighty steed clutching a crossbow in his right hand. eD yelps and begins to dodge and duck through the crowd, who stand in shock at the sight before them. The Ghost spots eD, reaches behind onto his back and produces a bugle, and blows into it causing it to play the Call to the Hunt, the horse rears up as The Ghost speaks…]
Crimson – “Cease your scurrying fowl swine! Face me and fight in honourable battle! Or I shall be forced to hunt you like a dog, until you vanquish three wishes to me!”
[At this point eD has almost made it to the huge double oak doors, The Ghost fires off a few bolts from his crossbow, eD narrowly dodging them as they land and imbed themselves in the columns that are spread throughout the room. eD finally dives through the Oak Doors closes them, and we here him jangling keys whilst rushing to lock the doors. All this time The Crimson ghost has begun charging forward on his Horse…we momentarily see eD face pop up as he jumps to see through the hole Komosube left in the door weeks before. His face turns to shock, and then we hear his little feet pounding away, just as Crimson Ghost and his horse break down the Oak Doors with one huge leap, and continue the chase.
The compiled guests have been stunned into silence by this rather surreal display, but as soon as the Ghost exits the room, the crowd turn towards Travis and start to holler and cheer, thinking this was some kind of planned entertainment. Honey turns to Travis…]
Honey – “These guys think this was staged? How many suits did ya invite to this party? Don’t they know who the Crimson Ghost is?”
Travis – “Ha, it’s like you read ‘The Blessed Ones’ mind little lady, Travis Roberts was thinking the exact same thing about these mindless window lickers…that and how much it’s gonna cost to replace those doors…”
Honey – “Haven’t you got quotes after Komosube bust through it a couple fo weeks ago?”
Travis – “No. ‘The Headliner’ figured it was ian interesting talking point, how many people can say they’ve had an obese ninja break into their house and have a mental breakdown right in front of them?”
Honey – “That’s true I suppose. But weren’t you in the least bit scared? In fact aren’t you still scared, that you’re going to be facing an opponent who sees no problem in breaking into your house and threatening you. He seems really volatile, like he’s ready to snap at any moment…don’t you worry he might take it all too far one day?”
Travis – “Honey, ‘The TWiSTeD Icon’ is not easily intimidated. ‘The Blessed One’ has defeated countless delusional souls that believe they’re from hell, many ‘ultraviolent’ psychopaths and one or two straight out murderers, and each time ‘The Headliner’ has come out on top. It’s gonna take more than some chunky, back flipping asian going Postal to phase ‘The Blessed One’.
Plus Komosube is reacting exactly as planned. ‘The Revolution’ knew that Komosube would be unable to reconcile the way he won his Championship with his own feelings of dignity, pride and honor. Each day he carries that belt, it eats away a little more at his integrity, because he knows he only holds it because ‘The Revolution’ made it so.
And with this fact eating away at the very fabric of this once great warriors very essence of life, he has chosen top ignore it. He struts around, with an ego that far outranks even ‘The Blessed One’, tragically trying to hide his own insecurities and shame. He declares as loudly as possible how much superior he is to anyone that crosses his path, as if shouting it will make it more believable. He has chosen a path of aggressive ignorance, in the face of what every other person watching can plainly see, he is no more than a Puppet Champion…and ‘The Revolution’ are holding those strings…”
Honey – “But what about his win over Brandon brown at EI8HT, that was an extremely dominant performance against GIW’s only Two Time Champion…”
Travis – “You’re beginning to sound like Randy Boolzian, doubting ‘The Revolutions’ every move. It’s simple ‘The Significant Player’ and Travis Roberts will always be two steps ahead of the rest, as we proved at EI8HT. We exploited the fact everyone was so sure Declan Prescott was going to turn on ‘The Blessed One’ to fool you all and take that Number One Contenders Spot with relative ease…hell we hardly broke sweat last weekend…
Did you see Brandon brown before his title match? Gibbering on about the title talking to him, Travis Roberts could see this coming…Delcan Prescott could have told you this was just around the corner. It was clear Brandon had no real problem with Komosube, the match was never going to truly challenge that compulsive eater, it would merely play into his current delusions of grandeur. EI8HT went better than ‘The Revolution’ could have expected, because Brandon was even more ineffectual than usual, his resiliency evaporated…and it played into Komosubes raging ego.
Come Battleground, it will have been over two months since Komosube actually faced a proper battle, and ‘the Headliner’ will be ready to pick up on every mistake he makes, and every missed opportunity.”
Honey – “But surely this week’s Six Man Tag match will be competitive…”
Travis – “It’s merely an exhibition match Honey. On Saturday the world will get just a small glimpse of how easy it will be for ‘The Headliner’ to pluck that title from the grasp of The Puppet King. But it will not matter, komo will continue to yell and demand the entire world recognises his phoney reign, ‘The Blessed One’ is convinced Komosube will continue on the path of ignorance…no matter the result on Saturday…”
Honey – “But surely you are worried about letting him get a shot at you before the title defense? How do you know he won’t try to injure you? Make you postpone that shot…”
Travis – “You really want Travis Roberts’ thoughts on the match at Sentinel? Well seeing as the only other conversations on offer are regarding share prices and stock options, ‘The Blessed One’ shall humour your needs.
Komosube truly doesn’t worry me, his constant bellowing of his mighty power and awesome championship reign, only serves to highlight the potential of the likes of Randy Boolzian and Alex Kiseragi. Whilst Komosube seems to think he is above these guys, he should really be looking over his shoulder…
‘The Blessed One’ recognises that Randy Boolzian is potentially a future Global Heavyweight Champion himself. ‘The Headliner’ would go as far as saying BoolZ has the potential to fill Travis Roberts’ boots one day in the future…that right Randy Boolzian could well be the next ‘Headliner’. Don’t get the ‘TWiSTeD Icon’ wrong though, The Red Bull Icon has a long way to go. He’s great in the ring, and has great charisma…but ‘The Blessed One’ has said it time and time again, he doesn’t make the best decisions. BoolZ initially comes across as some kind of loner, interested in himself, closing himself off from the world, travelling with most of his belongings in a U-Suk truck. Yet he continues to involve himself in other people’s problems, rather than concentrating on advancing himself? Fighting Brandon Brown and Chris Austin’s cold war against Global Domination, protecting Chris Austin from the advances of amorous women. Whilst he helps these guys out, he has some strange ring rat stalking him wherever he goes…’The Blessed One’ truly suggest BoolZ forgets about the guys trying to piggy back their way to the top, drop the dead weight, and allow himself to grow into a true Icon. Sure, he hasn’t had his shoulders pinned to the ground yet, but he’s far off true greatness, no matter how prestigious he makes the Hardcore Title, it will always be the secondary title in GIW…
See Travis Roberts, knows BoolZ followed ‘The Headliners’ career in TWiSTeD Fight Club, so it shows the kid knows a thing or two about the industry, and he was obviously inspired by the best of this generation. Travis Roberts can appreciate he’s still young, and has demons in his past…but ‘The Blessed One’ implores him not to waste his potential by pandering to the fans. Whilst he looks down from his own perch upon ‘The Blessed One’, no doubt feeling Travis Roberts has lost sight of TWiSTeD, he truly does not appreciate the true nature of TWiSTeD…regard TWiSTeD Proverb one ‘Do unto others what you will, but always watch your back.’, ‘The Blessed One’ would never complain if his rivals were of the ability to outmanoeuvre him as ‘The Revolution’ has outmanoeuvred the entire GIW roster for the past few months, sadly that’s currently some way in the future…
Alex Kiseragi has had a blistering start to his career, but like BoolZ, he seems to have focused his energies on making friends, rather than scouting his enemies. ‘The Blessed One’ has it from very reliable sources that his preparation for this week has consisted of sucking up to Komosube and bonding with Randy Boolzian. ‘The Blessed One’ would advise him to pay a bit more attention to his opponents in the future if he wants to achieve anything more than mid card obscurity…”
Honey – “What about your team mates…”
Travis – “’The Headliner’ has no doubt they will hold their own. Travis Roberts has it on good authority from Declan Prescott that Donovan Hastings is as reliable as they come, although ‘The Blessed One’ is going to have to keep an eye on Owen Petersons behaviour during that match…
Besides both Hastings and Severino are going to be keen to prove their mettle in front of the Next Global heavyweight Champion, this is their chance to make an impact on the most important asset this company has on its books. My only concern for Severino’s future is that he may get sidetracked supporting his Girlfriend’s aspirations, seems since they’ve joined GIW Gabrielle has had far more success than ‘Diamond’ Jack. But ‘The Blessed Ones’ concerns may be misplaced, Travis Roberts has been left sour by events in the past…”
Honey – “Mary-Joanna?”
Travis – “You really do know your stuff…”
Honey – “What can I say, I’ve been a fan since my daddy took me to see a show when I was a kid, and I really wanna make it in the business…do you think eD will be in contact?”
Travis – “Travis Roberts would put money on it…although if ‘The Blessed One’ was in your shoes he’d probably be considering restraining orders…it would have avoided a lot of trouble in my life…Honey it has been wonderful talking to you, but duty calls, gotta keep on spreading the GIW name…”
Honey – “Just once last thing? Why don’t we see you surrounded by women like Chris Austin and Randy Boolzian…there are quite afew fans who’d like to see you in similar scenario’s. Did Mary-Joanna turn you off women?”
Travis – “Travis Roberts still loves the female form Honey. It’s just Travis Roberts doesn’t need to take it when he can get it, and similarly is able to satisfy even the most rampant of fans with a smile and a wink, without being assaulted by them. Chris Austin and Randy Boolzian can continue to compete amongst themselves regarding sexual prowess, but they aren’t blessed with the charisma of ‘The Headliner’ and are unlikely to be able to pleasure women with a simple smile.”
[With that’s Travis looks over his glasses directly into Honey Swelling’s eyes, flashes her a smile, gives her a wink and then turns to speak with a group of men in suits whom Craig Futile has been entertaining since The Crimson Ghosts appearance. Honey blushes, bites her bottom lip and makes her leave from the room, and Travis looks over his shoudler getting one last look at the Buxom beauty as the scene fades to a close]
The vast oak doors to the room swing open and Travis Roberts and Craig Futile appear in it’s frame. The door still sporting a large hole where Komosube smashed his fist through it a couple of weeks ago.
