(The scene opens in a dark room. Brandon Brown is sitting in a chair in the middle of the room.)
I’ve done a lot of thinking over the last month. I’ve had a lot of time to myself to think about these things. The last few months in GIW have not gone well for me. After being champion for the first half of the year, I fizzled out down the stretch. I can’t even remember the last time I won a pay per view match. Okay, it was the match against Deathman. I do remember. That was back in June though. June was the last fucking time I won on PPV.
I’d blame myself but I just can’t. I was screwed out of every one of my PPV matches after June. The only two matches I wasn’t screwed in were the Battleground match and the match with Komosube. I had the flu in both of those matches though. I was cheated in the rest of my PPV matches though. It was either Roberts, Prescott, Cage. It didn’t matter who it was, I was always getting cheated.
I’m not here to discuss the past though. I’m here to talk about the future. What does the future hold for me? I’m hoping it holds the Global Championship again. That is my goal for this year. I want to get back on top of the mountain. There will be no more distractions. All of my focus will be on wrestling. My cousin has deemed this The Year of the Fat Man. Well, he’ll have to stop me from making this MY year.
My year starts this Saturday. It’s a 4 way dance with some of my favorite wrestling pals. My greatest opponent of all time is in the match. That’s right. I get one more shot at pinning Declan Prescott. One more shot at knocking him out and pinning him for the 1,2,3. I fought with Declan for mostly all of last year. I’m not sure how different it will be this year with us. We have the greatest rivalry in the history of GIW. This rivalry is nowhere close to being over. In fact, it’s just beginning.
You know who I’m beginning to hate. Alex Kiseragi. Another one of my opponents this week in the 4 way dance. The man stole my title in the Triple Cage match. I clearly had the match won. A noble man would have handed me my title after winning like that. But this is no noble man. He is a thief. I’ll be happy to kick his Japanese ass all the way back to Japan. I bet he’s not really if Japanese. While I’m at it, I’ll kick his father’s ass too. These dirty Japs have stolen my fans and I won’t allow it anymore.
Speaking of stolen, we come to Diamond Jack Severino. The winner of Boss P on a Pole. The most worthless match in the history of GIW. Anybody with an inch of talent could have won that match. My grandma could have walked into that match and beaten those losers that Jack defeated. Jack has done nothing to impress me since coming to GIW. He doesn’t even deserve to be in this match with three former Global Champs. We will tear him apart. He’s not in our league.
I’m tired of talking about that stupid 4 way dance match.
(The lights in the room come on.)
Big B: Brandon, why are you in here in the dark?
Brandon: I wanted to talk to myself and this seemed like the best spot. Besides, the dark made it seem cooler. It was a perfect place for a promo.
Big B: Nobody is never going to know what you said though. There are no GIW cameramen here. You weren’t filming anything. It basically was pointless to say all of that stuff. What did you say though? I’m very curious.
Brandon: Would you just shut up? I just wanted to talk my feelings out in that room. Is that okay with you?
Big B: Yeah. That’s all fine with me. You can do whatever you want. I can’t wait until your match this week. I want to see if you have gotten better since before Christmas. I’m sure you have. I’ve gotten much better too. Did you know this is The Year of the Fat Man?
Brandon: I’ve heard. We’ll just have to see what happens. I’ll be rooting for you. You do know that you will have to get through me though if you want to be champ.
Big B: I’m looking forward to it. It wouldn’t be the Year of the Fat Man if I didn’t beat the best wrestler in the business.
Brandon: Damn right. I am the best.
Big B: I’m bored. You want to go on a crazy adventure?
Brandon: No. There will be no more adventures for me. It’s all going to be business from here on. I guess you will have to go on adventures by yourself now.
Big B: That’s not any fun.
Brandon: Life isn’t fun. You will just have to deal with it. That’s what I have learned to do. Deal with it. I’m out of here. I’ll see you later.
(Brandon leaves.)
Big B: I guess I’ll stay home then. I know what I’ll do. I’ll watch The Dark Knight on blu-ray. I love that movie.
(Big B puts in The Dark Knight as the scene ends.)
