[The scene opens and we are greeted with the view of The Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas, currently the tallest in the city... It’s obviously night time, but who knows what hour it is. Guests enter and exit the hotel at regular interviews, and drunken groups stagger across the threshold after a long days partying. The lights of the hotel glow brightly, one of many lighthouses for those who have lost big.
The camera then spins and focuses on an even larger structure, the Fountainebleau Resort Hotel. Although this structure does not have any tourists flocking through it’s doors. A few lights glow, but this is no beacon in the Vegas skyline, not yet anyhow. Mammoth cranes surround the building along with construction vehicles of all description. In only a matter of months this building will be the tallest in Las Vegas, when construction is complete.
The camera takes us on a journey up the outside of the building, peering in through the bare structure of the skyscraper, until we finally reach the dizzying heights of the top of the hotel. We see a figure perched on the edge, wearing a long dark jacket, that billows in the harsh winds found at this kind of height. The camera begins to move closer to the figure, and we see they are flanked on either side by two companions, one remarkably shorter than either of the other figures.
Finally the camera view changes and we make out the figure on the edge is none other than ‘The Blessed One’ Travis Roberts, he is flanked by his agent eD cASe and advisor Craig Futile. The Headliners hair flows behind him as he is pummelled by the wind. He closes his eyes and spread his arms, feeling the fall force of the primal elements that lay siege do his body. Craig Futile takes a step closer to ‘The Blessed One’s right shoulder, and speaks]
Craig – “It’s great to see you focused Travis, it was only a matter of weeks ago that you stood before me in my office, having strayed from the path of TWiSTeD, and I felt it may be too late. But as ever you have excelled all expectations…”
Travis – “That’s just what ‘The Headliner’ does, it’s no big surprise, it’s not a big deal…”
Craig – “But it is Travis…don’t you see, you were on the verge of becoming everything you despised, your whole personality had undergone a traumatic change, I thought we’d lost you…”
[At this point eD takes a step forward and appears on Travis’ right hand side, and he leans in to speak]
eD – “He’s right buddy! I mean, I thought you’d become even more useless than an encyclopaedia handed to a window licker. But you’ve turned it round…in a matter of months you have erased the pain and the misery that the previous four years had cast upon your life, you have emerged from it reborn…”
Travis – “Erased?...Reborn?...Travis Roberts’ is not quite so sure about that…’The Headliner’ has just kept on as best he can…”
Craig – “Your humility is appreciated…but it’s unwarranted. You have proven you are not a washed out star of Yesteryear, you have shown the world what it means to be ‘Blessed’…”
eD – “And in just a few days you will be back where you belong, headlining a major Pay-Per-View…and you will walk out as Champion…”
[Travis shrugs, he doesn’t even look at eD or Craig, but keeps his eyes fixed on the glittering expanse of Las vegas that sits beneath him]
Travis – “Little Dude…Travis Roberts just wanted to apologise for that business with the penguin…’The Headliner’ really did not mean to cause such a damn problem….”
eD – “It’s all good, I only got 100 hours community service with disadvantaged badgers or something. But now’s not the time to be thinking about this Travis…”
Craig – “As shocked as I am that you actually apologised for something, I have to agree with eD on this one. This is no time for regrets, or second thoughts…you cannot question yourself…”
Travis – “Doubt?...This is exactly why ‘The Blessed One’ never apologises, people take it as a sign of weakness. ‘The Headliner’ has never doubted himself, Travis Roberts knows all too well what he is capable of…there is no doubt in this head my friend. But it’s not about what ‘The Blessed One’ thinks this weekend…it’s about the fans…”
eD – “The guys who are going to vote you to a Global Heavyweight Title Match…”
Craig – “Once again I’m with eD on this one, have you heard the receptions you have been getting, they’re going to vote you into the main event…”
Travis – “Or a tag match against Declan Prescott and Donovan Hastings”
eD – “There is no way that will happen, you are by far the obvious, logical, choice…”
Travis – “Travis Roberts does not deny that, hell anyone with half a brain knows that to be true. How familiar are you with Winston Churchill eD?”
eD – “British dude…got our help to beat the Nazi’s…”
Travis – “That’s the one, well he said ‘The best argument against democracy is five minutes with a voter’. You know what that means? It means ‘The Blessed One’ is not going to rely on the general public to make the right decision. Not everyone who picks up the phone to vote is going to be mentally stable…in fact those that are mentally unstable will probably pick up the phone more times than the sane…”
Craig – “What are you worried about? Granted Komosube could be a factor, turning on Declan probably boosted his support, being wary of him is just respectful…but you can’t believe Dylan James is a threat…”
Travis – “Did you not listen to a goddamn word ‘The Blessed One’ just spoke Craig? The mentally deficient make up a large proportion of the voters, you can be sure Dylan James is a threat. And it’s not just the might of the retarded masses that he will have on his side. You forget there are a fair few Lord, Deathman and Brandon Brown fans out there…you think they are going to vote to see their idol’s face ‘The Blessed One’? If so you probably voted for Dylan James. These guys are gonna vote in who they perceive the weakest of the challengers, to give their favourite the best chance possible…and they’d have to be retarded to think that Travis Roberts’ is the weakest competitior, and if so they will be voting for Dylan James anyway…
See guys, you have to look at the electoral math, there are many issues that will affect the voting, it’s by no means cut a dried that ‘The Blessed One’ will be back on top…"
Craig – “I appreciate being realistic, but surely you can’t believe this, are you just bringing down your own expectations? Do you doubt your ability to beat Deathman and Brandon Brown? Are you trying to portray just making the main event to be a success no matter the result?”
Travis – “What the hell do you take ‘The Headliner’ for Craig? Does Travis Roberts look like someone who’s likely to vote for Dylan James? If Travis Roberts makes the Main Event, there is no doubt in ‘The Blessed One’s mind that he will be leaving Las Vegas as the Global Heavyweight Champion.
‘The Blessed One’ has already defeated Brandon Brown once before, and despite the guy being resilient and funny, he hasn’t got an answer for ‘The Headliner’. He’ll be too busy defending himself from Lord, Deathman. You see these guys would rather there wasn’t another guy involved…they want each other to themselves. Neither of them have a game plan to deal with Travis Roberts, they find it difficult when they just face each other, when you add ‘The Blessed One’ to the mix, they just won’t be able to take it…
Travis Roberts has his game plan, he knows how Saturday Night goes down, no matter what happens with the votes…”
eD – “Which you are going to win anyway…”
Craig – “Comfortably I may add…and then you’ll be Global Heavyweight Champion…”
Travis – “Why are you both so obsessed with the title? Sure Travis Roberts is eager as hell to prove he is the pinnacle of this industry…but ‘The Blessed One’ is able to focus on the bigger picture…if it doesn’t happen at ‘In Your Hands’ it will happen eventually…”
Craig – “Why am I obsessed? On Saturday night Phase II of the Revolution will be unveiled to the world! Phase I has been a unilateral success, you have set the foundations for the uprising, you have positioned yourself as the ‘TWiSTeD Guerrilla’…the momentum you have created is astonishing, and the Global Heavyweight Championship would be a major Catalyst for the Revolution and Stage II…”
Travis – “You have helped ‘The Blessed One’ reconnect with TWiSTeD…but it seems you have now been distracted. Travis Roberts should have seen this coming, you have been away from the industry for so long, you can’t help being distracted…you can feel the glory, the battle, the blood…and the gold! And ‘The Headliner’ understands all this, but it prevents you from achieving clarity…
The Global Heavyweight Championship is indeed one hell of a prize…but Phase II is far bigger than even that. We are talking about a Revolution here Craig, The Revolution will challenge the old order, the old ways…and it matters not what titles we hold at the start….merely what we have achieved when the dust settles…
‘The Blessed One’ stands, looking out across this city of excess, and he knows that on a shallow level this is a place he could enjoy. But Travis Roberts is focused, there will be no late nights in the penthouse with assorted guests, there will be no bleary eyes mornings…not until the job is done…
Can you feel that? Can you feel the winds of change approaching?”
[Craig and eD lean back around Travis’ back and give each other confused looks and shrug their shoulders, as they turn back a gale force gust of wind slams into the building causing debris to fall to the floor below. It hits with such force that eD and Craig are taken completely by surprise and are blown flat onto their asses. Travis merely stumbles back, but keeps his footing and spreads his arms wide once more. The camera swings to face ‘The Headliner’ head on, his long jacket blows and billows in the wind, his hair just dances at different angles with the gusts…]
Travis – “At ‘In your Hands’ Phase II of the Revolution will be unveiled, ‘The Blessed One’ achieved clarity many weeks ago, and the steps were taken to ensure the success of the Revolution…Phase II is more important than titles, than main events, than Pay-Per-Views. Phase II will change the way this company is run, Phase II will rise up and The Revolution will alter the landscape of Global Impact Wrestling for everyone. And these are not just shallow words from the mouth of some indecisive punk, these are the words of the meticulous ‘TWiSTeD Guerrilla’, the plan is set, the pieces lay in wait…is GIW ready for Revolution?”
[With that Travis spins on his heels and makes his way to the service elevator on the middle of the roof, eD and Craig climb to their feet and dust themselves off. Suddenly another gust comes along and blows eD off his feet once more, Craig lends him a hand to get back up, but the Muppet manages to unbalance the businessman and Futile crashes to the floor. It is chosen at this point for the scene to fade, not to black, but to some words:]
