Donovan sits in the locker room of the Mexico City Arena in the hours after Break For The Border. He is staring off into space. His shoulder is wrapped with an ice pack.
Owen Peterson enters. He stares at Donovan for a moment, and looks about to speak, but stops. Owen looks down at the ground for a moment, and looks at Donovan again.
Peterson: You okay?
Donovan continues to stare.
Peterson: Lord-Chief?
Donovan blinks, and glances back at him.
Hastings: Sorry, yes. I'm fine. Of course I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?
Peterson: I just thought you would be...disappointed...given what happened out there.
Donovan stands with his hands cupped behind his back, his back to Owen.
Hastings: And what happened?
Peterson: What do you mean?
Hastings: What happened, that I should be upset?
Owen stares at him.
Peterson: Maybe you should tell me.
Donovan lowers his head and smiles.
Hastings: We had destiny stolen from us.
He turns to face Owen.
Hastings: I teased you a few weeks ago that if I needed advice on refereeing, I would talk to Glenn Burke.
Owen hesitates.
Peterson: Okay?
Hastings: The match tonight should have ended in a draw. Burke should have declared everything over then.
Peterson: And you would have lost.
Hastings: A draw is a tie, you ignorant slut.
Peterson: Ignorant what?
Hastings: It's common knowledge that Blessed Immortality is the premier tag team in GIW history. That was proven once again tonight. The only true justice after tonight is that Blessed Immortality must be declared the Co-Undisputed Global Champions.
Peterson: Co-Undisputed?
Hastings: Yep.
Peterson: Co-Undisputed.
Hastings: Do I fucking stutter? Now, after that six person tag match, there are three new #1 contenders to our championship. Normally that would be quite the challenge, even for the individual members of Blessed Immortality, however, with co-champions, we are in an amazing position to turn away this challenge. Travis Roberts has successfully defended the Global Championship for months. Now that Blessed Immortality is the co-Undisputed Champions, we will be unstoppable.
Peterson: This might not go over well with Travis.
Hastings: I fail to see how that is relevant.
Peterson: Right, of course not.
Hastings: Speaking of which, I need you to look into his travel arrangements.
Peterson: Why?
Hastings: DON'T QUESTION ME, NIGLET.
Peterson: Right, sorry.
Owen lowers his head and Donovan turns away. Owen smiles, a relieved smile.
Hastings: I will need to stop by the merchandise store.
Peterson: What could you possibly want from there?
Donovan looks back at him.
Peterson: Not questioning. Sorry.
Hastings: And I'll be needing your credit card.
Owen sighs and hands it to him.
Hastings: Find out what Roberts is doing, and I'll meet you back at the rental car.
Peterson: You know we have to return that.
Donovan laughs.
Hastings: Yeah, okay.
Owen rolls his eyes and walks out. The moment he exits the room, Donovan's smile fades into a frown. He buries his head in his hands for a moment, and runs his hands through his hair. He takes a deep breath, and walks out of the room.
