This series is produced by Roosterteeth. You might remember them from Red vs Blue. Monty Oum, who created RWBY, died in late 2014 from an allergic reaction to a medicine he was given at the hospital while undergoing surgery. It appears that Roosterteeth is going to finish Volume 3 of the show, but it is unknown if they will attempt anything further. From what I have heard he shared much of his vision of RWBY with the others at Roosterteeth so they could possibly complete the story.
