The Dark Destroyer managed to reach the ring without incident. I wonder if it’s somebody else under the mask. Wait, nevermind, he attempted a leaping knee at Raab to open the match and ended up tangled up in the ropes. Odd how that reconciles my place in the universe for me.
Tempest and Salvatore go right at each other, grappling for position as Raab is staring at DD. Raab appears to be contemplating whether it would be the honorable thing to help him out, but the Destroyer threatens to devour his soul and that seems to satisfy Raab that it’s okay to leave him there. Salvatore with a snap suplex on Tempest, floats directly into the cover, but Raab immediately breaks it up.
Salvatore backs Raab into the ropes with a series of slaps to the chest, she goes to clothesline him over but Raab dips his shoulder and backdrops her over the ropes to the outside. Tempest charges at Raab, but Raab sidesteps him and uses his momentum to toss him over the ropes, only for Tempest to twist in midair into a spinning elbow onto Salvatore. On the far side of the ring, Ny-Otep has untangled the Dark Destroyer from the ropes, which seems rather uncharacteristically kind for a moment until he unceremoniously chucks him over the barricade into the crowd.
Tempest back into the ring, ducks under a clothesline and springboards off the ropes, but Raab catches him in mid-air with an uppercut. Raab picks him off the mat into a German suplex, rolls into a second, but as he sets up a third Tempest breaks the waistlock and steps into a deadlift German of his own, and they’re both down. Salvatore is back into the ring, knocks Raab into a corner with a dropkick, after which she grabs him and takes him out of the corner with a tornado DDT. Salvatore tosses Tempest out of the ring and covers Raab for a two count, as the Dark Destroyer is now yelling at various people in the crowd about the evils he has in store for them.
Salvatore brings Raab back to his feet and attempts to set up Off With Her Head, but Raab slips out and lifts her into the Iceinator. Ny-Otep reaches under the ropes and trips Raab up before pulling him out under the bottom rope, as meanwhile referee Alice Nasmith’s full attention is on the crowd, where somehow the Dark Destroyer is now crowd surfing while still screeching about EVIL. Daedalus slides into the ring with a steel chair, placing it on the fallen Salvatore, and Tempest comes off the top rope and connects with the Crystal Lake Mantra on top of the chair! Tempest covers, but Alice Nasmith is still distracted by the mayhem in the crowd. Daedalus kicks the chair out of the ring and gets the referee’s attention, rolling out as Nasmith slides into position, but Raab has escaped Ny-Otep and pulls Salvatore out of the pin and to ringside.
The Dark Destroyer has been dumped back to ringside, as Ny-Otep grabs Raab and throws him into the steel steps. The Destroyer rolls into the ring, and he stands and actually connects with a running boot on the surprised Tempest. The Dark Destroyer seems as surprised as anybody else, taking a moment to celebrate. He finally turns his attention back to Tempest, but Tempest has recovered and lifts him into the God Eater, and that finally ends this match with a three.
Winner: Tempest
Time: 7:31
Tempest’s music plays following his victory, but it’s cut short as the screen flashes into life. The Chimera's animated mask appears, with the sound of slow clapping in response to the performance. He announces that due to the outstanding showing tonight and in an effort to reward up-and-coming superstars, Tempest is now the number one contender for Kenzi Grey’s Chaos Championship. The match is set to take place at Infinity.
Backstage, Sarah Lacklan attempts to make contact with the Chimera.
The tandem of Sebastian Everett-Bryce the Third and Sloane Taylor make their way to the ring, but this time around, it is separately. Fans of UGWC worldwide know what these two entertainment professionals can do together, but tonight, we find out what each of them are capable of when the other is across the ring from them. Good on the Chimera for shaking some things up here in the early part of 2020
Brian Chartreuse earns half of his paycheck by calling for the bell, and this match is officially underway. We start things off with a handshake, before the two of them lock up. Seb quickly applies a side headlock, before tossing Sloane over onto her back. Before Seb can cinch in the headlock even more, Sloane rears up and uses her legs to apply a headscissors. Seb wiggles free just as Sloane rolls backwards, and the two of them get to their feet simultaneously. Another lockup, with Sloane applying an arm wringer. Seb quickly reverses, applying an arm wringer of his own. Sloane with a handspring to take the pressure off her arm, and then sends Seb to the mat with an arm drag. Seb answers with an arm drag of his own, and the two again get back to their feet simultaneously, as appreciative applause rings out from the crowd.
Sloane smiles over at Seb, who acknowledges with a nod, and the two lock up again. Knee lift from Seb connects to the midsection of Sloane, doubling her over. Seb applies a front facelock, and then connects with a snap suplex. Sloane back to her feet and turns towards Seb, who wraps his arms around her, before lifting her up and sending her overhead with a release belly-to-belly overhead suplex. Everett-Bryce the Third immediately moves in for a cover, but Sloane kicks out at one.
Seb pulls Sloane to her feet and shoots her into the ropes, missing with a back elbow after Sloane ducks under the attempt. Sloane bounces off the opposite ropes and ducks under a clothesline, continuing to run the ropes as Seb turns back towards her. Sling blade sends him down to the mat, but he quickly scrambles back to a vertical base, just in time to eat a handspring enzuigiri from ‘The Sky Queen’. Sloane with the cover, but Seb kicks out at one-and-a-half.
Sloane pulls Seb to his feet, connecting with a couple of forearm shivers to the jaw of ‘The Sophisticated Suplex Machine’. Irish whip into the corner, Seb slamming hard into it. Hesitation dropkick from Sloane finds its mark, and as Seb stumbles out from the corner, Sloane connects with a superkick that sends him to the mat. Another cover from Sloane, this one getting a two-count before Seb kicks out.
Sloane pulling Seb to his feet again, but Seb shoves her backwards. He takes off towards her, ducking under a spinning leg lariat attempt, before bouncing off the opposite ropes. Sloane is waiting for him as he returns though, and she sends him back to the mat with the Silver Lining. Another cover, but Seb kicks out just before Chartreuse’s hand hits the mat for the third time. Lack of hooking the leg cost Sloane there.
Sloane quickly gets back to her feet and attempts a standing shooting star press, but Seb is able to get his knees up, Sloane gasping for breath as she grabs at her ribs. Seb to his feet and connects with a DDT, spiking Sloane into the mat. Seb kips up, and then reaches down and grabs Sloane, pulling her back to her feet. A fallaway slam from Seb sends Sloane halfway across the ring, and then Seb executes a bridging suplex that Sloane just barely kicks out of.
A series of rolling German suplexes has Sloane reeling, Seb executing five of them before making the cover and getting yet another near fall. Ring positioning played a factor there though, as the two of them wound up too close to the ropes, and Sloane was able to drape her foot over the bottom rope at the last possible second.
Sloane connects with a European Uppercut as Seb is pulling her back to her feet, but he still has the wherewithal to send her slamming into the corner chest-first before she can really begin gaining momentum. Seb lifts Sloane into the air and props her up onto the top turnbuckle. Climbing up himself he wraps his arms around her, and then tosses her into the air, Sloane landing with a thud from Seb’s Markham Missile. Seb then takes flight himself with his patented moonsault diving headbutt, but Sloane somehow manages to roll out of the way, and Seb hits nothing but mat.
It takes both Seb and Sloane to the count of eight to make it to their feet, with Sloane attempt to whip Seb into the ropes, but Seb reversing it. He connects with a dropkick to the front of the right knee of Sloane, sending her to the mat in a crumpled heap. Seb with a few well-placed stomps to the knee of Sloane, and then applies a knee bar. Sloane is able to make her way to the ropes though, and Chartreuse calls for the break, much to the chagrin of Sebastian Everett-Bryce the Third.
Seb pulls Sloane to her feet but she collapses, still clutching at her knee. Concern on his face now as he looks down at her, before saying something to Chartreuse. Brian down to check on Taylor, who emphatically tells him that she’s fine. She attempts to stand on her own now, as Sebastian looks on in concern, but seems unable to put any weight on it. Seb moves forward and says something to her, seeing if she is ok, but Sloane quickly reaches out and grabs a hold of him, and rolls him up with a small package for the three-count.
Winner: Sloane Taylor
Time: 7:45
As Sebastian climbs to his feet following his frustrating defeat, he turns to face Sloane. He walks towards her and offers her his hand – she looks up at him, almost regretful, but takes it. Seb pulls her up, and the former Cooperative Champions exchange an embrace before Seb turns and raises Sloane’s hand in celebration. But Sloane’s music cuts off abruptly as the Chimera head bursts into view on the screen.
"Well done, Mr. Everett-Bryce. Even in defeat you were honorable and valiant, sticking to the honest endeavor of changing your ways and being a better man. Your loss tonight proves that you are willing to stick to your word, even at the expense of victory. And as such? You should be rewarded for your performance." The Chimera says. Seb looks around, waiting for an attack to come much like had effected Hastings the week before.
"Next week, live on Synergy, you will be rewarded with an opportunity to win back the Cooperative Championships lost at Horizons." The Chimera said, the mask moving this way and that. Seb turns to face Sloane who beams and they exchange a hug again.
"Ms. Taylor – you claimed that you were willing to do anything in order to be victorious. Everything, you said. Last week, you spurned that opportunity. Once again this week, you had the chance, but you held back, but this time you got lucky. In the end, you lied to me, Ms. Taylor. And one must not tell lies…" The Chimera said dangerously. "As such, you will not be Sebastian’s partner next week. That opportunity will be handed to someone that I will select at random. You, Ms. Taylor, will have one last chance at redemption... Next week."
The crowd murmurs in surprise while Sloane looks shocked and not just a little wounded to be punished in this way. Seb looks from the crowd and to Sloane before the Chimera fades to black, leaving him to speak to his former partner who reassures him she is “fine” before pushing past him to head backstage.
The four individuals each make their separate entrances, with Kenzi basically dragging Lenore behind her as she heads to the ring. On one side Roberts doesn’t take his eyes off of Deimos, and on the other Rydell looks disgusted as Kenzi rolls Lenore into the ring, converses with Sam Green, and then heads over and takes a seat beside the announce table. Claude works that bell like a magician, and this match is officially underway.
Roberts is more than happy to allow Deimos to start the match for their team, as Lenore is yelling that she can’t possibly participate due to having hurt her hand when she punched Dave in his thick skull. Rydell responds by reaching out and slapping her in the back of the head and knocking her to the mat, making him the legal participant in the match.
Rydell bull rushes Fear, connecting with rights and lefts and backing him into the ropes. A high knee finds its mark to the sternum of Deimos, and then Dave shoots him across the ring with an Irish whip. Back elbow sends Fear down to the mat, and Rydell then begins stomping the chest and face of UGWC’s resident boogeyman. He then makes a beeline across the ring and connects with a forearm to the jaw of Roberts that sends the future Hall of Famer down to the floor.
Dave jaws at Roberts and, though I’m not a lip reader, I think he called him a bitch. He turns back around and Fear is waiting on him, sending him overhead with a release belly-to-belly suplex. Rydell makes his way back to his feet, but is sent through the ropes and out to the floor with a spear from Fear. Deimos follows him out to the floor, grabbing his arm and whipping him into the steel guardrail. European Uppercut, and then Deimos grabs Dave and shoves him back into the ring. Fear climbs up and enters the ring, only to have Roberts reach out and slap his shoulder, tagging himself into the match.
Travis connects with a big boot to the face of Dave sending him to the mat, and when Dave makes his way back to his feet, Travis sends him back down with a running clothesline. Travis pulls Dave to his feet, executes a jawbreaker, and then sends him back to the mat with a Russian legsweep. Travis climbs up to the top rope and takes flight, but misses with a flying elbow as Dave rolls out of the way.
Travis holding his elbow as he gets to his feet, but turns around and realizes his elbow is the least of his worries as Rydell connects with a superkick that echoes throughout the arena. Roberts falls against the ropes in order to maintain his footing, but it’s obvious that he’s out on his feet. Dave grabs him by the head, springboards off the middle rope, and plants Travis with a tornado DDT. Dave makes the cover, but Deimos is in to break up the pin attempt at two.
Dave makes his way to his feet and connects with a stiff right hand to the jaw of Phrix, stunning ‘The Embodiment of Fear’.Swinging neckbreaker sends Phrix to the mat, and Dave climbs to the top rope. He attempts a Rydell Bomb, but Fear gets his knees up, ramming them into the middle of Dave’s back. Deimos rolls out to the ring apron as Roberts makes his way to his feet. Shining Wizard of Oz from Travis and he falls into a cover, but Dave kicks out at two-and-a-half. Roberts to his feet still holding his elbow, and Fear reaches over the top rope and slaps that elbow, tagging himself back into the match.
Deimos quickly maneuvers over to Rydell, pulling him to his feet. He plants him with a Numbing and makes the cover, but it’s broken up when Roberts drags Deimos off of Rydell. Roberts begins berating Deimos for everything under the sun, including but not limited to: the cold weather, Ross and Rachel breaking up, and seeing to it that Travis didn’t get the victory here tonight.
As they’re arguing, Rydell makes his way back to his feet, glancing over at Lenore, who hops down to the floor to avoid being tagged into the match. Dave then makes his way over and grabs the heads of Fear and Travis and rams them together. He then begins alternating big right hands, clobbering the faces of both Deimos and Roberts with closed fists. With both men reeling, Dave takes off across the ring, bounces off the ropes, and takes both men out with a double Tip of the Spear. Roberts falls through the ropes and out to the floor. Deimos gets tangled up in the ropes, but Rydell grabs him and pulls him back into the ring. Rydell flips Fear off, connects with a kick to the stomach, and then plants him in the center of the ring with a Virus of Life. He makes the cover, but Sam Green doesn’t begin the count.
The crowd counts to five, and then Rydell gets to his feet to see that Lenore has gotten Green’s attention, and is complaining about needing medical assistance for her hand. What he doesn’t see is Kenzi Grey leave her position off to the side of the announce table and slide into the ring. Kenzi shows that she’s Better Than You by connecting with a Virus of Life onto Dave, and then turns his lights completely out by connecting with a Walk of Fame. Kenzi then drags Deimos over to Rydell and drapes his arm over Dave’s chest.
She quickly exits the ring just as Lenore hops back down to the floor. Sam turns and sees the pinning predicament, and this match is over.
Winner: Phrixus Deimos & Travis Roberts
Time: 8:16
Kenzi and Lenore both get back into the ring, pointing and laughing at Rydell as he comes to. Hate in his face, he connects with a forearm to the jaw of Kenzi, knocking her to the mat. Grabbing Lenore by the hair as she attempts to get away, he formally invites her to his Virus of Life party, planting her in the center of the ring. He then gives one to Kenzi, leaving her sprawled out beside her cohort. Stepping over Deimos, Dave steps through the ropes and hops out to the floor. Seeing Travis finally getting to his feet, he sends him back to the floor with his finisher so that Travis didn’t feel left out. He then makes his way up the ramp, as the cameras focus in on the carnage left in his wake.
“The King of Charisma” enters first. His greeting from the crowd is mixed, but not necessarily negative. He walks to the ring confidently, seemingly unphased by the booing he gets, while he focuses entirely on the cheering. He reaches the ring, “Pierce’s” it up a bit more, then gets checked by Referee Hazel East and waits for Angelica to arrive. She enters a few seconds later to roof shaking cheer that almost seems to catch her by surprise. She pauses and gives them a heartfelt acknowledgment before she continues to the ring. Once she’s in Hazel checks her as well, sees if Travis is ready and calls for the bell.
The two former World Champions advance to center ring and go to lock up. Pierce gains the upper hand with a combination of brute strength and guile when he fakes the lockup and kicks Angelica in the knee. He spins around behind her and goes for an immediate chop block that draws a caution from Hazel. He shakes her warning off and kicks her in the knee a few times, then yanks her back up and slams her back down onto the mat with a dragon screw leg whip. He pops up and pats himself on the back as she yells in pain on the mat.
Hazel backs him off and checks with Angelica. The second that she nods her head that she’s ok, Pierce is back on her. He immediately rolls her damaged leg into a one legged crab and sits deep into the hold. Angelica yells in pain and begins to pull herself towards the bottom rope with her long arms. Pierce manages to pull her back once, but she eventually makes it to the bottom rope and forces a break. Pierce breaks the hold, but is quickly back on her. He pulls her over to the bottom rope, drapes her leg onto it, leaps up and comes down on it not once, not twice, but three times. He gets up after the third and leaps up onto the turnbuckle. He comes flying off and appears to be looking for “The Piercing Blow”
Angelica sticks her other leg up at the last second and catches Pierce in his armpit. He spins off clutching at his arm and staggers to the corner. Angelica ties to run at him, but stumbles on her damaged leg. Instead she lunges at him and slams into him with a hard clothesline. She follows up with a double axe handle to his hurt shoulder, which she follows up with a rare headbutt. She grabs him by the arm and proceeds to pull him into multiple shoulder blocks, which she follows up with a spinning arm wringer that leaves him writhing on the mat. She lays in a few stomps of her own for good measure, making sure to further soften up his weakened shoulder, then lands multiple elbow drops onto it. She pulls him up into the corner and lands a series of roundhouse kicks. She follows it up with a Sick Kick, which her leg barely supports. Pierce slumps down into the corner. She tries to run across to the far corner and stumbles, then attempts a running cannonball, but her leg collapses half-way across the ring and she drops to one knee.
Pierce pounces like a predator and leaps on her with a quick “Breakdown”, although his shoulder keeps him from landing it as forcefully as he can. He jerks her to her knees and follows it up with a running boot to her face. She never gets a chance to stay down as he pulls her up and connects with a sloppy “Signing Off” due to his arm, but still manages to get most of it. He goes for the pin, but she kicks out at two.
Pierce runs at Angelica, but she rolls him up for a quick two count. He leaps to his feet and connects with a kick to her bad leg which sends her down to one knee. He pulls her up and attempts another “Signing Off”, but she punches him in the shoulder and he drops her, allowing her to slip down his back. She kicks him in the back of the knee, then drives a knee into the back of his head before she locks him in a rear naked choke. Pierce struggles against it and eventually makes it to the bottom rope. Hazel tells Angelica to break the hold, which she does. She kicks him in the back of the head, followed by another Sick Kick. She shakes her leg out and finally hits “Vaughnemous”, although it doesn’t quite have the snap it usually does and gets the three count.
Winner: Angelica Vaughn

UGWC Anniversary Flashback of the Week: Dexter Vines welcomes the crowd to the first ever Synergy
As both competitors make their entrances the commentary team focus on the fact Hide Yamazaki’s 2019 could have earned a lot differently had his manager, JBC,not taken the chance he earned at Battleground for himself. None commit to stating that his opponent tonight would not be the World Champion had that been the case, but none sound certain of that fact ether.
When they get around to remarking on what is currently happening they notice that Bonecrusher is acting somewhat subdued , and rather than playing to the crowd he is focused on his charge, presumably discussing tactics with him on their way to the ring.
This peculiar behaviour doesn’t stop Sar’ from loudly reminding Johnny that he is better placed outside the ring than in it, and considering how bad a manager he is that’s saying something. She then casually remarks to Hide that she doesn’t understand why he still wastes his time with someone like JBC.
When the bell rings Hide looks at JBC who just nods, at which point Yamazaki lets out a primal scream and charges at the World Champion with crazy eyes and teeth chomping. Sarah wisely falls to the canvas and rolls out of the ring, Hide runs into the ropes and leans over grasping for her head, but she IS very short so it’s a futile effort and it allows Lacklan to grab both his ankles and sends him crashing to the canvas. She then slides into the ring and getting to her feet aims several quick kicks at her opponents body, when he starts getting to his feet she concentrates the blows on his legs to impede his progress to vertical.
When Yamazaki gets upright, the World Champion drops to her stomach and rolls out of the ring again, never let it be said Sarah Lacklan doesn’t recognise a successful strategy. This time however Hide is not charging in a mad frenzy and has the awareness to reach down and grab her by the hair before she can get her feet to the floor outside, he then drags her back into the ring by her long golden locks, before swinging and tossing her across the ring like a ragdoll. She crashes into the turnbuckles as Hide unwraps clumps of her hair from around his fingers.
Sar’ sits in the corner clutching her head, but has no time to regain her bearings as ‘Deathwish’ is upon her and he at first stomps angrily on her midsection, before then placing his boot across her throat and putting all his pressure on it. All the while he is screaming two words in Japanese, and ignoring the officials count as it marches towards five. The hold is only broken when Boncrusher runs into Hide’s line of sight and implores him to relinquish his leverage. The commentary team find it remarkable that he achieved this without raising his voice or berating his client.
Sarah, struggling to breathe, clutches at her throat, and rolls away, her body hanging over the bottom rope, and as she gasps for air dramatically she looks directly at Johnny Bonecrusher and hits him with a blast of Poison Mist. More accurately she covers a fan cosplying as Jet Somers in the front row with most of the projectile, but she does catch JBC in the eye, and that is enough to cause him to fall to his knees clutching at his skull.
Sarah pleads innocence to the official who has been admonishing Hide for walking the line so tightly. She says it is far more likely the poorly maintained UGWC Arena that is leaking corrosive substances than she has evolved with the ability to projectile vomit such a substance on a whim. Burke cannot argue this fact
Hide however sees JBC down and is enraged once more and he pushes the official aside to get towards his opponent, Lacklan sidesteps directly into the path of the referee, and he like a pinball is sent back towards, Yamazaki and they awkwardly come together. The World Champion seizes the opportunity to get behind her foe and she hits The Abyss and gets the three count just before Hide attempts to kick out.
Winners: Sarah Lacklan
Time: 9:42
Post match Sarah looks into the camera and raises one finger, and then another and smiles.

Phrixus Deimos and Travis Roberts vs Dave Rydell and Kenzi Gray

Angelica Vaughn vs Travis Pierce

UGWC Anniversary Flashback of the Week: Dexter Vines welcomes the crowd to the first ever Synergy
Sarah Lacklan vs Hide Yamazaki
