Vinegar: Ladies and Gentleman, you’re watching GIW Sentinel.
Hanson: If you don’t like men in tights in hand to hand combat, change channels now.
Vinegar: This weeks show promises to be-
Hanson: Better than last week?
Vinegar: At the very least.
Hanson: It’d be depressing if it weren’t.
Vinegar: We’ve got a stacked card. We’ve got action starring the Aussie Rebels, Moss Edwards, The GIW Tag Team Champions, Alex Kiseragi and Brandon Brown, the Number 1 contender, Donovan Hastings and more.
Hanson: When you say it like that, it does sound good.
Vinegar: Like what?
Hanson: With The Lord Chief included.
Vinegar: How did I know you’d say that?
Hanson: No idea.
Vinegar: No time to speculate though as we go to our first match.
Sentinel kicked off with an exciting match up between two unorthodox ladies in Malise and Calypso Desmona. For a match between two wildly various styles, it stayed surprisingly textbook from the outset. Calypso was able to gain an early advantage by keeping the feisty Malise grounded for a long way. Using a lot of mat tech and basic tie up maneauvers, Calypso wore Malise down to the mixed reaction of fans. Calypso's arsenal grew more and more complex and entertaining as the match went on and Malise struggled for a toehold. Not a drop toehold, but a figurative.. you get the idea. Anyway, Calypso seemed determined the end the match with a submission maneauver, but her lack of more striking and power attacks nearly cost her the match as the limber Malise was able to writhe and wriggle her way out of one lock after another. Finally, Calypso's perfectly set up STF garnered a mule kick from the ground from Malise, and Malise wrenched back the upperhand. Dazed, Calypso didn't see Malise take to the skies, where she was more comfortable, and launch a devastatingly high 450 splash. The move connected, but Malise bounced away from the cover. Having been down most of the match had taken it's toll, and both women lay dazed, too far away to finish the match. A countdown was begun by referee Owen Peterson, who, for some reason, keeped stopping to check on Desmona, and fans of both sides began stomping and chanting their heroine's name. Both women began stirring around six, but Calypso was the one to make it up at eight, and Malise barely got to her feet by ten. Calypso, having shaken off the splash, was ready with a well aimed front kick that knocked the stars around Malise's head. Not wasting the chance this time, Calypso moves in and, A Kiss By Chaos, cover, for the 1-2-3!
