During his time as a NASCAR driver, Konrad had already gained five friends in the paddock, although he had to be friends with his teammate, Kyle Busch who had been helping him with his career with Brad Keselowski giving him solid advice of being a better NASCAR driver. After the claustrophobic NASCAR race at Indianapolis, while Konrad finished second after avoiding all the disasters happening in front of him with the curb causing problems for all drivers, including himself, all five of his friends came towards him, after hearing news over the commentary while being interviewed for NBC sports TV about Konrad's task tomorrow.
His other friends apart from Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski were Kyle Larson, and Chase Elliot overheard the interview, including Keselowski and Busch themselves as they come over straight towards Konrad, giving him a pat on the back for his efforts. Still, at the same time, gasped on the news as well. Also, during their confrontation, Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe heard about Konrad as well, but they went away to talk more about the incident. They all went to the pit garage for a friendly discussion about the news they heard.
Brad Keselowski: "Wow, I can't believe what I heard about you going for the Cross-Hemisphere title tomorrow night."
Kyle Larson: "It's fantastic how much this sport is growing because of you, and you're a nice guy. How on earth are you performing so well in NASCAR?"
Chase Elliott: "I got to be honest, I got jealous that it was some random celebrity coming into our sport, worried he'd ruin the sport because some random celebrities don't jump into the car and drive. But these last few races you've attended, you have proven me wrong, and I'm sorry I got pissed about it in the interview."
Konrad Raab: "It's fine, Chase. After all, we did make up for all of that, so I get it. What you guys don't know is I used to do this stuff in Germany for a short period of time. Rogers attended a few races in Germany, and I won a majority of the races. So it came naturally to race. Well, I did buy an old Kyle Busch car."
Kyle Busch: "Never thought I'd have a fan from the world of professional wrestling. I think it's awesome you brought one of my old cars and driving it in this series. We're all proud to have you as a part of the championship."
Brad Keselowski: "You still have more learning to do as you made some mistakes in your first road course outing with knowing where to brake and to make correct turns, but that will come in due time. You did pretty solid in your first outing."
Rogers sees Konrad's friends standing with him, talking about NASCAR and how he got there. This was the support Konrad needed from his fellow friends as Chase Briscoe shook Konrad's hand and patted him on the back after the long discussion with Denny Hamlin. Konrad nodded at Keselowski, knowing he was right on Konrad having a lot to learn about road courses racing and even ovals as well.
Kyle Larson: "I think all of us tomorrow night should go to Chicago and see Konrad win a wrestling title. We're all friends here, and since Konrad has been through the hard times with all of us, I think it's time we return the favour by supporting him."
Chase Elliott: "Yeah, that's a fantastic idea. I would love to be there when you win that title from that zombie dude. Also, it helps that Indianapolis is only two hours away from Chicago, so it makes perfect sense to go there and support him."
Kyle Busch: "Konrad is a terrific teammate, believe it or not. He's helped me on a lot of things, as I have with him and Keselowski too. Anyway, we'd be delighted to come to Chicago tomorrow night as a part of the audience and support you to win your match against that zombie dude."
Konrad Raab: "I would be happy if you guys can come along and maybe one day Larson, as a return of this, I'll come and watch you race in that dirt series you won last night and congratulations on that, by the way. The zombie dude is named Tempest, and we don't like each other at all. I rather not talk why as I'm getting anger help for my issues in wrestling."
Konrad smiles, seeing that his friends were there for him, especially when he's going through a tough time in wrestling as of late without any friends to support or back up Konrad in his quest to win the title. Of course, what stunned them was Konrad having anger issues, but that wasn't important as they were more focused on Konrad getting that title shot, especially when they said it will be live on NBC Sports tomorrow night which was discussed in the interview as well.
Brad Keselowski: "I'd be happy to come and support you. You need that after what you told us about your anger issues. I didn't realise you had them because you seem so relaxed on the track. I guess wrestling is a far different environment."
Konrad Raab: "It is, so I have to let myself go a lot more with wrestling. Granted, I don't particularly appreciate having to listen to other wrestlers the other day, saying I need to do other methods like cheating to win, like take risks I don't usually do, which I don't because I prefer to win titles fair and square which I did last year without using other methods to win. At the same time, I see their point; they do it because they are desperate to win, and well, I've not had that stigma in me for quite some time. I don't take enough risks mainly because, well, I'm still working on the thought of finding other ways to win, despite hating the whole idea of it."
Kyle Busch: "You have that fire mentality in racing, right? Sure, you had doubts about how well you'd do with the road course, but you nearly won the race today. Use it in wrestling as well. Use it in your match with Tempest tomorrow night."
Kyle Larson: "I use the same mentality for both NASCAR and the dirt racing, and I succeed in it. You can do it; we all have faith in you."
Konrad Raab: "I know, and you both are right. I only want to win tomorrow night because I want to shut everyone up in wrestling on me not being able to do this and that. Fuji, the masked dude you see, has mentally wore me out. I'm even more hungry than ever to win that Cross-Hemisphere title tomorrow night. You go to him, and he'll get you all tickets to the event. You can bring your families to it as well."
Everyone listened very hard on knowing that wrestling was far different to NASCAR racing as it was easy for Konrad due to not having that much pressure of him doing well, and that's what Konrad preferred. Plus, he's far more respected in NASCAR than wrestling. It was this kind of support from everyone, and that Konrad respected NASCAR sport was why he was making friends easily and everything. However, there was a problem.
Chase Elliott: "We love our family, and it's great you want us to bring our wives and kids to see you wrestle. NASCAR is a family sport, and we keep that tradition in wrestling too. How do we get tickets to the wrestling show?"
Konrad Raab: "Oh, Fuji already has that sorted out; as I said, reserve tickets for my NASCAR friends in case they ever want to come to see me wrestle. Fuji will take you to the ticket area and you'll get your tickets just like that. Also, I reserved a VIP box for all of you as well and there's enough room in there for your families too. Thanks for having my back."
Brad Keselowski: "After everything you've done for this sport so far, of course, we'll have your back. You've been there for us when we need to talk to someone and talk about your wrestling, your two girlfriends and your family life as we've done with ours with you. We'll hire a minibus to go to Chicago and be there. You got this win, Konrad. I know you have."
Konrad smiles once again, knowing this was why he loved being a part of the NASCAR paddock and the series as a whole as everyone was told to head back to their motorhomes, but Konrad had a plan more for tomorrow morning.
Konrad Raab: "We'll meet up at the parking lot with the minibus you'll hire Keselowski so we can go together with Fuji. Anyway, we better head back to our families and our motorhome before we get a telling off from the circuit organisers. It's so good to be back here after what happened in Germany and I'm going to do our bid to promote climate change that we need to take more seriously as of right now. I will be racing the next two races."
Kyle Larson: "We'll see you tomorrow."
All his NASCAR friends waved at Konrad as they went their separate ways, for tonight at least after everything that had happened in the race today as Konrad went back to his motorhome, alone without a phone call with his main girlfriend before he thinks a lot about the match with Tempest tomorrow night. That was all on his mind before going off to sleep to see what the day awaits him. In the morning, everyone, including Fuji met up at ten in the morning before they travel a two-hour trip to Chicago with their families with them.
His other friends apart from Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski were Kyle Larson, and Chase Elliot overheard the interview, including Keselowski and Busch themselves as they come over straight towards Konrad, giving him a pat on the back for his efforts.
