The early moments of the match involved the two wrestlers feeling each other out. This ends when Gideon attempts a tie up, but Jess darts under it and dropkicks him in the back, staggering him. He lands and kicks him in the back of his calves a few times, then lands another dropkick, sending Gideon head first out to the floor. Sue runs across the ring and springs off of the top rope, comes down, and whips Gideon into the ringside barrier, then leaps up and slides back into the ring. Gideon pulls himself up and slams his hands down onto the barrier, then calls his advisor over. Gideon, and Oliver Neville have a short conference before Gideon slowly reenters the ring via the steps.
They go to lock up again, but Gideon fakes the lock up and kicks Sue directly in the stomach, then patronizingly taps him on the head before smacking him in the face. From here Gideon proceeds with a string of suplexes, backbreakers, a facebuster and a DDT. He pulls Sue up and plants him with a brainbuster, followed by a seated piledriver, focusing on his head. Gideon rolls Sue over and proceeds to pummel him with elbows and forearms to the back of his head, punctuating it with insulting slaps. He yanks Sue up and promptly slams him face first into the mat with the “Mindbreaker.” He flips Sue over and covers him with an insulting elbow across his face. Hazel East drops for the count but Sue kicks out at two. Gideon leaps up and insists that it was a three as Neville leaps onto the apron and begins yelling, drawing Hazel away. Gideon pulls Sue up and hits him with what would’ve been a blatant low blow had Hazel not been distracted. He pulls Sue up and drops him with “Percival’s Gambit,” then goes for the pin as Neville drops back to the floor. Hazel spins and drops for the count, but once again Sue kicks out at two.
Gideon pulls Sue up and throws him into the corner back first, then charges. Sue surprises him with a drop toe hold at the last second and sends him face first into the middle turnbuckle. Sue leaps up onto the top rope and comes down with a twisting senton across Gideon’s back, then dropkicks him into the corner and takes him to the mat with a leaping neckbreaker. Neville leaps onto the apron only to be knocked to the floor by a springboard dropkick. Somehow Sue twists himself so he lands across the top rope and comes down hard across Gideon’s stomach. He springs up and comes down with a diving forearm smash. He follows up with an elbow drop and the “Shatterpoint Kick.” He pulls Gideon up and takes him back down with the “Cherry Bomb.” He attempts a pin, but Gideon kicks out at two again. He goes up for the “Identity Crisis” after “Echoes” and manages to fight Neville off before successfully finishing Gideon with the leaping backflip stomp.

Vinegar points out how he’s trying to get Pierce to waste a lot of energy with the kickouts, but Lieberjosch comments that it’s not that, it’s that Blade is boring. Vinegar disagrees and Jay does Jay things.
Blade pulls Pierce up and whips him into the ropes and suffers “The Breakdown” for his efforts after Pierce ducks under his attempted clothesline. He follows it with a quick “Signing Off,” then pulls the dazed Blade up and reminds him that “The Truth Hurts” for the three.
