This would be his big moment. Last year he had come so close, seen his big moment finally come, only to watch it slip away. It was now time for Ezekiel to finally reach his destiny.
He has watched the videos. He has done his homework. A year ago he put all of his eggs into a single basket, and wasn’t ready to chew what he had bitten off. His chance to become the World Heavyweight Champion blew up in his face. He remembers In Your Hands.
He has stepped inside the cell before. It was one of his best performances, but a distraction caused by a cheap parlor trick cost him the match. He remembers Horizons.
Ezekiel is a soldier. They call him The Iron Man. They call him The Red-Eyed Warrior.
Soon, they will call him Champion.

The scene opens to the view from a webcam. It appears to be getting set up as the frame constantly changes and we see typical bedroom items. Eventually, the camera stills and we see a familiar pimple-faced teenage boy as he takes a seat in front of the camera. He adjusts his glasses and begins to speak.
“Good evening, folks. Joey here, been awhile since I did this, but I was talking to my buddy the other day and he was talking about how great UGWC has been this year. I thought it was kind of bogus how they just shipped out Tyvola, but he convinced me to give it all another go, and with In Your Hands coming up, maybe I could help things get back on track. Keep in mind I haven’t watched in months, but I have done a bit of research.”
Joey reaches off-screen and grabs a piece of paper. He clears his throat before he starts to speak.
“Alright, so the first things I saw to vote for was this whole ‘Dungeon of Pain’ versus ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ stuff. I mean, I’ve never heard of most of these guys, and it looks like for good reason. ‘KAH-jewls’ got me interested for a moment, in an angry sort of way, I thought they brought Tyvola back and stuck him with some stupid Cajun gimmick, but I guess not, it’s just some cheap knock-off. My buddy was telling me that in a few years he’ll wear a red mask and be a main-eventer, not sure where he got that idea from. Now, apparently Paul Cockatoo has a personality now? Never would have seen that coming, but bully for him and he gets my vote. On the other side, this Captain ‘80s guy is kind of funny, but if I wanted to watch ‘80s wrestling I would just youtube it. This ‘Rinzler’ guy seemed cool on Synergy, but Cockatoo already whomped him once, so I don’t need to see that again. I’ll give it to Geeanne, about time that guy got some recognition. But seriously, they’re making the winner of this match an Outlast captain? Can you say jump the shark?”
Joey shakes his head and takes a glance at the paper.
“In what has got to be one of the cooler parts of this whole voting thing, we get to pick who challenges for the Cross-Hemisphere Title. A few fresh faces for me in this one, my buddy tells me that Moss Edwards was Prince Rudo last year? But Prince Rudo is still running around? Confusing much? Sounds like a real mess. The other day I went on the UGWC website and a pop-up told me to vote for Remi Monroe. That’s obnoxious. I voted for Travis Pierce, that guy is funny as hell. Now, apparently the two people I don’t vote for face each other for a future title shot of some kind. This is dumb. If I wanted to watch them get a title shot, I’d have voted for them!”
Joey takes a sip of water before continuing.
“Looks like Donovan Hastings is still fighting to stay relevant. My buddy tells me he just gets used these days to ‘put over’ new talent. I guess that’s a way to make a living. I don’t know anything about these two new guys, they look pretty good though. One of my options to pick as Donovan’s partner is a rubber chicken? Not sure how they’d manage that, but I saw a penguin wrestle on this show once, and my buddy told me he saw a dog be a champion once. I guess stranger things have happened. So, tough choice, but it gave me an excuse to bust out the ol’ three-sided die, and it came up Calypso.”
Joey holds up the triangle die and awkwardly winks to the camera.
“Rounding out this show is what looks to be a huge main event. I still have NO idea how to pronounce the current World Champ’s name, but my buddy says I can just call him Fear, so I’ll go with that. He’s up against Ezekiel, who lost in the main event of In Your Hands last year. Some nice symmetry there, and might be a good time for redemption. We get to pick the gimmick for the match, so let me start by throwing out the Iron Man one right away. An hour long match? Who has that kind of attention span? I’m still trying to figure out how I’m going to sit through hour long classes at college next year. Forget that. Leaves a Ladder Match or Hell in a Cell, and not much of a choice there. Gonna go with Hell in a Cell, and sounds like it could be a real blood bath. Just remember everyone, when you see a great show this Monday night, it was in my hands!”
We see Joey reach off-screen again and the screen goes black.

The scene opens inside the office of Donovan Hastings at the Dungeon of Pain. Ezekiel reclines in a chair, looking at Donovan standing in front of a chalk board, on which he has drawn a crude picture of the Hell in a Cell.
“The critical goal here, Zeke, is that you have to get Fear outside the cell and throw him off it, or something. Really break him. Brutalize him, injure him to the point that he can’t stand under his own power. Then we’ll pool the Dungeon’s purse and cash-in to take the title.”
“How about I just beat him for it and be done with it?”
Donovan sighs.
“You don’t exactly have the best track record in these situations, do you?”
“It’s not like Phrixie is going to whip off a mask and reveal he is Ezra.”
“I wouldn’t put it past him. Fear is cunning and relentless. He prides himself on always being a step ahead, on having taken advantage of weaknesses you never knew you had. The last thing you want to do is underestimate him.”
“Are you speaking from experience? Is that what you’ve been doing all these years?”
Donovan’s eyes narrow as Ezekiel takes out a joint.
“I’ve asked you not to do that in here.”
Ezekiel is about to light it, but he nods and takes it out of his mouth as he stands.
“Don’t worry bro, I got this.”
He slaps Donovan on the back before walking out of the office as the scene fades.
