UNBREAKABLE
Lieberjosch: Might be one as Colin Davis yells at Zeke to get up, lifts him!
Covert Jay: Jersey Devil Drop!!
As Colin lifted me into the air, I let him continue to think he was on the offensive. That spinebuster was nothing compared to some of the moves that I've taken. I've battled the biggest men that UGWC has to offer. Granted, the move shorted my breath a bit. I saw the look on his face as he pulled me to my feet. He looked like he had already won. He was wrong.
Lieberjosch: Countered into Peace Out!!!!
Covert Jay: Wham! NOW a ninja cover!
As Brian raised his arm and slammed it down to the mat three times, all I could do was smile. Colin Davis would be used as an example. A man twice my size was reduced to cannon fodder for a destructive weapon. Most people won't even remember this night but Colin always will. It's the night he thought he'd prove himself to his friend, Moss. He was wrong.
ENDURANCE
[/b]The scene opens to a man sitting in a directors chair. His red hair appears to be some sort of bad wig and the majority of his bespectacled face is covered in an equally red beard. He adjusts in his chair before looking a bit surprised.
“Are we on?” he says. After a moment, his expression changes to a more serious tone and he clears his throat.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Roger Frisk and welcome to another episode of the best show on your local programming, Maximum Frisk. I’ll be bringing you some of the most anticipated movies and recently released blockbusters as well as my predictions SLASH opinions on them. Let’s get this under way.”
He reaches into a pocket inside his badly tailored tweed jacket and emerges with some cue cards. He clears his throat nervously and looks down at the cards for a moment too long. His attention is only grasped when we hear someone snap their fingers offscreen.
“Let’s begin with a movie series that just seems to be grasping for straws as far as entertainment value goes. Step Up: Revolution. This is the 4th installment in the series and only one character from the past shows up and it’s only for a cameo. Besides him, all we get are a bunch of random no-namers trying WAY too hard to get in the spotlight. Only one actor from this series has gone anywhere and even though Channing Tatum gets shoved down our throats, most people still don’t like him. This movie might perform well in some venues but it will not garner the attention it so desperately tries to receive. Thumbs Down.”
Roger moves that card to the back of the stack and reads the next one a bit before beginning.
“Next on the list is the recently released, Ice Age: Continental Drift. It’s the 4th installment in this series as well but it manages to do what the former quadrilogy couldn’t do. It has retained it’s entire cast of actors while adding some fresh but familiar talent in there as well. In this series, they contend against a band of pirates while trying to reunite with the family of the mammoth. Both sides struggle to stay alive while the world around them is thrown into chaos. It has a moving message that no matter what happens, you’re family triumphs over all. Well done, folks. Thumbs Up all the way.
He looks up from the cards and the surprised look returns to his face.
“It looks like we need to take a break. Stay tuned. We’ll be back in a moment.”
UNDENIABLE
[/b]Last year, the sight before your eyes would’ve been impossible to happen. Paul Cockatoo and Ezekiel Pax in the same room. Without trying to tear each other apart. They’d crossed paths on occasion since War & Peace merged with the Dungeon but this was different. Ezekiel had told Marek to have Paul stay after class. Honestly, at first, Marek was worried that Paul might face the same fate as Ezra. All the trainees had been walking on egg shells around the champ ever since he wiped out his protege. Whatever the reason, Paul was a bit nervous as he tried not to stare at the mask worn by the World Champion as they sat in two folding chairs opposite of each other.
“So.. uh..” Paul said. “What’s up?”
“I know we have history, Paul, and I’m glad we’re able to behave so amicably while we’re near each other. It’s a mixed blessing that we can put things into the Past and move on to a common goal.”
Paul looked at Zeke with a confused look on his face.
“What do you mean, mate? We’re practically on different ends of the spectrum. I’ve been delegated to Trainee status while you hold the World Title.”
“Don’t get fooled by the big picture. We have more in common then you think.”
“You’ve lost me.”
Ezekiel lays the World Title across his lap.
“We both came into GIW as part of a group. Me with War & Peace and you with The Rebels. We both have had our success waiver like peaks and valleys. We both struggled to get any sort of recognition from our peers. We’ve both had positive and negative issues with Jordan King. At one point, being Chaos Champion was the highlight of our careers.”
Paul nods in agreement.
“I guess when you put it that way, we’re not too different, mate.”
“Life works in mysterious ways, Paul. Men like us, we’re always hungry. Scratching tooth and nail for just an opportunity and we capitalize on it and from there on out, we become a force to be reckoned with. Last year was when that opportunity was first offered to me. I started to flounder by the end of the year and beginning of this one but at WrestleStock, I was presented with another opportunity. That night caused a ripple and the end result...”
Ezekiel puts the title back over his shoulder.
“Was this. Our past has been tumultuous but that’s over now. Whatever issues we had are over now. JK and myself will one day settle this. Right now, your focus is on this title over my shoulder. Mr. Cockatoo, at Outlast you have a chance to rise up from the ashes of the Rebels and become more than just a ‘trainee’. You have a chance to take this from me. And if it comes down to it, any sort of ongoing rage you’ve felt since I ‘stole’ JK from you shall be unleashed. And I’ll accept it in full. Bring all you got.”
Ezekiel gets to his feet, as does Paul. The two men shake hands and Ezekiel heads off.
He was right. In the back of my mind, I dreamt of the day I could avenge what had gone on between Ezekiel and JK but now that JK was gone, where did that leave me? The fight as a member of The Rebels was done. At least it was done for now. The new fight was at Outlast. Hiroki and myself were just seen as weak links in Team Enforcer after poor showings on Synergy but those days were over.
He would do exactly what Ezekiel had told him to do. He was Paul Cockatoo and at Outlast, he would bring it. He would bring everything that he has.
INVINCIBLE
[/b]The screen fades back into the ‘Maximum Frisk’ and it takes Roger a moment to realize they were back on the air. After a pause, he addresses his viewers.
“Welcome back, folks. My name is Roger Frisk and this is...”
Dramatic Pause.
“Maximum Frisk. The next movie on our list was highly anticipated and received great success at the box office. I’m talking about ‘The Amazing Spiderman’. After an unsuccessful attempt at creating a 4th movie, Stan Lee went back to the drawing board and rebooted the series. He drafted a completely new cast featuring familiar actors in familiar roles. To my knowledge, none of these actors had been seen in a film together but they did a great job of making it work even though other actors had played the same roles in previous endeavors. In the end, director Mark Webb has recreated a classic dynamic while freshening up a subject that seemed to get negative reviews in the past. Thumbs Up.”
Roger moves the card to the back of the stack and adjusts his tie.
“Next up, we have a movie that seemed to come from nowhere but is lead by a familiar name. I’m talking about Oliver Stone’s ‘Savages’. The cast features actors who haven’t been in the spotlight as of late teaming with faces who Hollywood will never forget. Big stars John Travolta and Benicio del Toro continued to shine on the screen as they’ve done in past as the unexpected team up of Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson was well received by the public and ended up being a natural fit. All in all, ‘Savages’ started out as a sleeper hit but has garnered lots of attention so far. Thumbs Up, Mr. Stone.
He moved the card to the back again.
“Alright, folks. We’ll take our last commercial break and when we return I’ll review two more movies before the end of the show. Stay tuned.
WARRIOR
[/b]Marek was pleased as Hiroki and Paul were chosen to be apart of the team. He’d kept a watchful eye on Hiroki and was disappointed in his showing as Ezra’s partner but after their 2nd loss, it seemed like a switch had been flipped. His determination had grown ten-fold and Marek had started to see a kindred spirit in the former Rudite.
His honor and loyalty to the Lord was undeniable. After getting beaten down TWICE by SnS, he scooped up his pride and headed right back to the Dungeon, ready to take the verbal and physical lashing that was to come.
The Dungeon was where Marek and Hiroki sat now, taking a break from attacking a heavy bag. Students can be seen in the background but it appears that Marek has taken Hiroki to the side. One thing he really liked was that while conversing with Hiroki, he could use his native language.
“Do you think you are ready?” Marek asked, as Hiroki took a swig from his plastic water bottle.
“Very much so.” Hiroki said, twisting the cap back on. “The Black Knight has placed his trust and faith in myself and Paul. I will not fail him like I have done in the past.”
Marek half-smiled. “Good. Because we both know what can happen when you fail.”
“Yes. Lots of vomit. It is not easy to vomit on an empty stomach. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth.”
“Then do not vomit. Keep your mind focused and at Outlast, Team Enforcers will show the world that they underestimate the students of The Dungeon.”
Hiroki nodded in agreement. “Well, let us not get too relaxed then.”
The two men square up to their respective bags as the scene fades out.
PERMANENT
The scene fades back on to Roger behind his desk.
“Welcome back to Maximum Frisk. Let’s get right into the next two films.”
He looks at his cards a bit too long, causing another awkward silence.
“First off, we have ‘The Watch’. Once again this year, directors tried to produce a movie made with big faces that haven’t seen much screen time together. Hollywood heavyweights Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn haven’t been seen on screen together since Starsky & Hutch and so far this movie isn’t fairing much better than that remake. Add in upcoming star Jonah Hill and relative unknown...”
Roger takes a moment to try and figure how to pronounce the name.
“Richard.. I..odie.. (Ayoade) and you have a recipe for disaster. Coupled with the murder of a teenager by a Neighborhood Watch captain as well as the start of the Olympics and the theater massacre in Colorado, this movie just had too much working against it and a faulty story didn’t help. Thumbs Down.”
He adjusts the cards, removing the one he just read, before continuing on.
“Lastly, we have ‘Dark Knight Rises’. Even through the aforementioned tragedy, this movie has become not only the hit of the Summer but the hit of the entire year so far. Christopher Nolan delivers with the final chapter in his story of Batman and his stars delivered 150%. Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, and Anne Hathaway shined in a manner that no other film this year can touch. Don’t listen to the skeptics that criticized the choice of Hardy and Hathaway as the villains. Who cares if Anne hasn’t done any action roles before now? I certainly don’t. Also, did you see Tom Hardy in ‘Warrior’? After seeing that movie, why not make him into the villain? The uenxpected addition of Joseph Gordon-Levitt into an already all-star cast only helped this movie move forward. Ladies and gentlemen, if you haven’t seen this movie, shame on you. Thumbs Up.”
He sets the cards aside.
“Thank you for joining me this evening for another episode of Maximum Frisk. Good night.”
INDESTRUCTIBLE
In just mere hours, Outlast would begin. Ezekiel had decided to help himself down to the ring while the set up continued. His title glimmered on his shoulder under the lights that had already been set up as he stood on the apron and looked out among the empty seats that would soon be filled with his naysayers and fans alike.
“This is where it all happens. Tonight is the night I prove EVERYONE wrong. Those like Jet Somers that cost me my first shot at the title. Men like Moss Edwards who aided Somers in that adventure. Freaks like Phrixus Deimos that I shut down time and TIME again. Former saviors like Remi Monroe that arrived on the scene to combat the evil that he so quickly succumbed to. Unknown bets like Prince Rudo whose focus lies on a single soul as he steps into a battle of many.”
He slides the title off his shoulder and climbs between the ropes. He lays the title dead center on the mat and places his hands in his pockets as he looks toward the entrance.
“The list goes on and on. Down that ramp, several men will come and all of them will say the same thing. ‘I can beat him.’ But can they? Can they really beat me? I want to see these people try. People like Zane Scott who spends his time in a gym surrounded by has-beens. People like Abigail Knight who dare to think she can even compete on my level. Across from the ring will be men most would seem I hold dearly but they shouldn’t assume such things. Paul and Hiroki have been pawns for long enough and I want them to come at me with unbridled restraint because I know that Chris and Marek will do the same. My best friend will come at me with ruthless aggression and I welcome it.”
Ezekiel leaves the belt in the center as he slowly backs up and slinks down in the turnbuckle, sitting on the bottom rope.
“If those men and woman weren’t enough, the list still continues on. Travis Pierce and his band of rejects still consider themselves a threat in all of this. That threat is about as believable as a threat as Team Dragon Cave was to Team Dungeon of Pain. Zero threat. You surround yourself in garbage, you become garbage. Any momentum you have going will be canceled out. Joy will handle Ratana. Calypso will handle Jones, Donovan will handle the ‘truth’ and whoever is left will be demolished by CaJoolZ.”
The Red Eyed Warrior stretches his neck a bit with a sigh but maintains his position in the corner.
“Looking back at this list, most would think I left someone out but I simply saved him for the end. I read the forums and see what people are saying about Alex Stein, the anchor of Team SnS. The man I have yet to gain a win over in singles competition. I’ll be waiting for you in the Main Event, Alex. I know you’ll make your way there and the Sadistic Juggernaut will be ready to battle the Red Eyed Wonder once again and he expects the same outcome. From your tall vantage point, Stein, you should be able to see that the landscape of UGWC is changing. 3 out of the 4 titles have changed hands and soon your number will be up. I will continue to be World Champion but I will not adopt the moniker of the ‘undefeatable’ champion. One word sums up the Era of Ezekiel.”
He gets up and picks up the title, letting it dangle in his left hand as his right hand reaches for the base of his mask. He slowly pulls it up while looking at the ground and completely removes the mask to reveal that his face has healed.
“Indestructible.”
He then places the mask back on and exits the ring as the scene goes to black.
