From: The Representatives of 'The Headliner'
Dear Mr Morgan
On Monday the 14th of April, 2014, on the Broadcast of the Unified Wrestling Coalition's(UGWC) weekly web show, 'Synergy', you made a challenge to our Client, 3 Time GIW World Heavyweight Champion, Travis Roberts, to face you on Monday 28th April 2014, at the MPS Centre in Winnipeg Canada, during UGWC's upcoming No Holds Barred event.
Given the sheer scale of the request you have made, for a match with 'The Most Influential Icon in Sports Entertainment of this Millennia' in what would undoubtedly be a much anticipated match due to our clients reputation and standing within the industry, our client is concerned that you have not fully explored all your options and have not considered the ramifications of such a decision.
Our client is willing to allow you to reconsider your challenge due to his belief that you were not in your right mind when you made it, and despite public appearances he does take pity on those with lower brain function.
Our client would also like to make you aware of few things you should take in full consideration before finalising your decision.
1. Grounds for the Challenge are Baseless.
Our Client feels you may have a misconception of the events that occurred on the April 7th of UGWC's Synergy which you have based the the reasoning for your recent challenge upon. For such claims to hold any credence you would be claiming to understand our clients motivations for his actions. Whilst you have painted it that he was trying to ensure you did not claim a desired match with World Heavyweight Champion, Donovan Hastings, this was not our clients motivations.
On December 9th 2013, at the Horizons event, you were witnessed handcuffing your sister, Eden Morgan, to the ropes to ensure she could not continue competing for the World Heavyweight Title as she desired. Our clients intentions on April 7th 2014 were to merely redress the balance and ensure a measure of justice was served for events that occurred December of last year.
If you wish to contest this, and possibly claim that our client has no reason to help your sister, he would like to remind you that her World Heavyweight Title Match that night with Zane was only in her possession because our client thought she deserved to headline the biggest night of the year she had dominated. Your actions on that night ensured that did not happen.
Our client would suggest you look elsewhere to blame for your current circumstances before challenging him to distract yourself.
2. Liability.
Our client would like to remind you that he too has associates and that your usual brand of gang warfare and intimidation does not provide sufficient threat to worry them. He would also remind you that, unlike your own, his associates are not inebriated and easily distracted for 98% of their waking moments.
Our client has never taken personal issue with you, and his associates view of you is of an irritating necessity. They have always been aware that there rise to prominence in the industry was bound to produce professional rivalries driven by a competitive spirit. This was something they anticipated and were more than happy to tolerate.
However, in recent weeks, our client and his associates have come to suspect that you have been under increased mental stress due to the changes in the industry and this has lead you to launch a very personal and unhealthy vendetta against them. This is not something they would be happy to tolerate.
Our client and his associates are concerned by your increasingly deteriorating mental state, and would not like others to come to the conclusion that they were merely taking advantage of someone who needs real help and would like to make it clear that anything that occurs forthwith if you do not rescind your challenge and cease this vendetta at once is not their responsibility.
Our client also will not be held responsible for your inability to handle workplace stress leading to him causing you significant loss to any of your functions during the proposed encounter on April 28th in Winnipeg.
3. Conditioning
It is our clients belief that if both competitors were at their physical peaks any encounter between them would be a thrilling and well received match with our client the most likely to emerge victorious. However our client does not believe you are in a condition conducive to the level of performance his matches on this kind of stage have become known for.
(i) Your mental state has already been a point of concern for our client as can be found in section 2. When performing at any event, let alone a hardcore themed one such as No Holds Barred, if a competitor’s mental state is weakened they are prone to making worse decisions than they are usually known to. Whilst our client hasn't been in a better place professionally and personally for years can you claim the same?
(ii) Whilst our client was out of the industry for three years over the months of his return his physical condition has improved exponentially. On April 28th he anticipates being in the best condition since he returned from his hiatus. This however can not be said about yourself and leaves you at real risk of significant injury.
(iii) The match stipulation is unknown but our client would remind you the nature of the event you have challenged him to face you at suggests it will be violent and dangerous. Whilst you have built a reputation around being one of the most violent and destructive hardcore wrestlers around, our client has built a reputation upon winning, no matter the environment. He has won hell in a cell's, table, last man standing matches, even barbed wire death matches of doom. In more recent memory he won the second Battleground Match of his career, widely recognised as the most gruelling and violent match in UGWC, and then went on to win the one night tournament at Infinity. Whilst you might have a penchant for running over people with motor vehicles and making them bleed, our client has a penchant for beating them in the middle of the ring, stipulation or not.
Our client would like to help you more as you reconsider making the worst decision of your career to date, but he fears you will most likely got frustrated at looking up so many big words in the dictionary that odds are you will have given up before even now.
However in the hope that you have made it this far our client would like to remind you that he will be at Synergy this coming Monday April 21st, and whilst to outside appearances he may be focused on avoiding the undoubted horror of a prank from the depth of the combined minds of Somers, Pierce and Edwards, he will be very much anticipating a response to his kind offer. If you wish to rescind your challenge and save yourself from the most humiliating night of your career all you need do is walk into David Damarest's office and let him know you've changed your mind and would like to face a calibre of opponent more befitting to your current condition and talents, like Kurt Brady for instance.
Kind Regards,
eD folds up the letter and puts it back in it's envelope before looking up at Travis and Dirge,
eD – 'Are you sure you want to post this?'
Travis was about to light a pre-rolled and he stops just as eD asks the question, and he turns and looks at Dirge who is emotionless, before looking back to eD.
Travis – 'You're right.'
eD's eyes light up, he waits for very long periods to hear those words from the mouth of 'The Blessed One'.
eD – 'I am?'
Travis – 'Yes, 'The Blessed One' agrees, someone seems to have an optimistic view of Cypress and his acquaintances' reading comprehension levels. Deliver it by hand, read it to him and explain any parts that might confuse him, which could be a lot.'
eD's face sinks and he turns and trudges towards the exit as the scene ends.
