OOC: THIS IS NOT A JOINT PROMO. I DISCUSSED A SEGMENT WITH MAINSTREAMER AND HE IS OK WITH ME USING HIM IN THIS JUST AS A SKIT SORT OF DEAL!

Location: O’Malley’s Pub
We open on a semi crowded pub, the regulars are enjoying their brews. A few college kids are coming in to get schwasted since it’s Thirsty Thursday at the bar. It’s just a normal Thursday night. Dave Rydell comes out of the back of the bar, from the office, and goes to meet and greet. He makes his way around to the opposite end of the bar, and sees a familiar face. A man, eating a basket of wings, and drinking a tall glass of beer. Dave walks over and taps him on the shoulder. He turns around, and it’s the Mainstreamer.
Dave Rydell: I was wondering when you’d make your way down.
Mainstreamer: Well, you invited me.
Dave Rydell: 2 months ago.
Mainstreamer: Eh, I felt like now would be a good time. No distractions, other than those drunk ass college bitches over there.
Dave Rydell: I’ve got an office.
Mainstreamer: You still tapping the bartender?
Dave Rydell: No. She quit after I broke it off.
Mainstreamer: Shame, she was a good lookin’ lady.
Dave Rydell: So what’s up?
Mainstreamer: You tell me? You invited me.
Dave Rydell: Monday is happening. We’ve got our own goals. But there is a common goal we could achieve.
Mainstreamer: You know what I want out of this.
Dave Rydell: And you know what I want.
Mainstreamer: Then it seems we are back at a stale mate.
Dave Rydell: Not necessarily.
Mainstreamer: I’m listening.
Dave Rydell: Grab your beer and wings, come to the office.
Dave walks off towards the back, grabbing a glass of rum on the rocks on his way. Mainstreamer is shortly behind him. They enter the office and shut the door. Just then, Bill Stevens walks into the bar and goes to grab a beer from Tyler.
Bill: Thanks man, is Dave around?
Tyler: He’s in the back. But he’s in a meeting.
Bill: Important?
Tyler: Seemed that way, his friend took his food in there.
Bill: I’ll go check it out.
Bill gets up and goes into the office and as he walks in, Dave and Mainstreamer stop talking.
Bill: Sorry, was I interrupting?
Dave: A little bit. Need anything?
Bill: Dave, seriously?
Dave: What can I help you with?
Bill: Just came to shoot the shit.
Dave: I need a few minutes with my friend here. And can you have that new bartender bring us another round?
Bill just glares at Dave.
Bill: Yeah… sure thing boss.
Bill slams the door and the two partners go back to their discussion.
Mainstreamer: So what are you saying?
Dave: I’ll put it like this, let’s be on the same page. How can we hurt Wallace the most?
Mainstreamer: We know is most prized possessions are those straps.
Dave: Exactly.
Mainstreamer: All of them…
Dave: Bingo. No matter how this works out, we are hurting him. You want to break him down, piece by piece. I want to give him the biggest slap in the face possible. He doesn’t want to see either of us win. But, what I am proposing, before we decide to tear each others heads off to get our own personal gains from this, why not both of us walk out with gold?
Mainstreamer: I’m listening…
End scene.

Dave Rydell walks into the nearly empty mini mart. He walks over and grabs a 1 liter Ozarka water bottle and heads to the checkout. He looks down and sees a Men’s Fitness magazine. On the cover, Arnold Schwarzenegger, in lieu of his upcoming “Terminator” movie. He notices there is a headline reading “Dave Rydell and the Mainstreamer, a shot at it all…” He picks it up and purchases it. Once outside of the store, he goes to his car and gets in. He turns the dome light on and starts flipping through to the article. He finds it. It reads as follows…

Location: O’Malley’s Pub, out front, in the street…
Fading in on nothing but Dave Rydell’s establishment, engulfed in flames. Dave Rydell is talking to a firefighter, trying to figure out what is going on. The fire hoses are spraying, attempting to put out the inferno. As they spray, it is slowly, but surely being put out. Dave just looks on in shock and sorrow as his money pit has now, burnt to the ground. Just then, Martin “The Mainstreamer” Graber walks up, eating a bag of pretzels. He continues to eat as the two men stare at the fire. Rydell crosses his arms.
Mainstreamer: Well, at least you don’t need to pay the employees while it’s closed…
Dave just looks at Martin and doesn’t look amused. End.

The Infinity War…
Now, I know what you’re all thinking. I’m taking a cheap shot at Marvel for their upcoming movie extravaganza over the next several years. No. It is simply a play on words. The event? UGWC’s Infinity. The match? A Vanity Special. The result? The results of an epic war. And so I begin my rant...
Vanity is defined to us as being excessive pride in one’s appearance, qualities, abilities, achievements, and accomplishments. However, there are two men that are against this word. But why? Fear? Passion? Jealousy? Vanity can also fit into the pride and lust category of the seven deadly sins. How? Just because it is called lust, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s after a person. It can be an object, such as a championship belt. Alan Wallace lusts for gold, and glory. He also takes intense pride in what he does and looks like, especially with gold around his waist. How does this fit in with the opposition of Sex and Violence? Wallace, and his partner, Killian King, have nothing but an uphill battle with Dave Rydell and the Mainstreamer.
Let’s look into our opposition for the unlikely duo of Dave Rydell and the Mainstreamer. Mainstreamer, someone who is lusting at a chance to destroy Alan Wallace. A man who has nothing but hatred in his heart for Wallace. 8 years, almost 9 at this point, he has wanted revenge on him. But how does Killian King fit into this picture? He just happens to be Wallace’s partner. Which, in my opinion, doesn’t bode well for the Mainstreamer. Mainstreamer will need to take out King, and Vain in order to take home the HSW Title.
The Mainstreamer also has a partner who is hell bent on gaining back his Cross Hemisphere Title. In my opinion, it was a very short lived reign. Can the Mainstreamer keep his calm to help the team? Or is he going to make it a solo act, and do everything in his power to walk out as the HSW Champion.
Now, bringing up his partner, Dave Rydell. This man is a man of true passion and loyalty. He stands for justice, or at least says so. Maybe now he can act on it. He is a former Soldier in the United States Army. But what of those skills can he take into this battle he is about to embark on? Will he be able to coexist with the Mainstreamer? Personally, I would think Rydell would go for his own gold in light of the fact that he is no longer the Cross Hemisphere Champion BECAUSE of the Mainstreamer. Does the Run of the Mill ring any bells?
A match that his so called “friend” brought to the table instead of using his one on one title shot to make it a fair shake? Granted, if Rydell was the best Cross hemisphere Champion, then maybe he would have won the Mill. But the fact remains, when it was announced, Mr. Orson, or the Mainstreamer, decided to bring in his close pal Ichabod in, and assaulted Dave Rydell!
If I were Dave Rydell, I would set my sights on the Cross Hemisphere Title and bring home what belongs to him. However, there are two sides to the coin. If I were the Mainstreamer, I would go for the HSW Championship and stick it to Vain. Either way, Mr. Wallace is in for the fight of his life. What are his odds? Very slim, I think. Zane is the World Champion and has his own fish to fry in the main event, with Klaus vonnKnorre. So that just leaves Eden Morgan, who will most likely stick her nose in this bit of business just to ensure the Syndicate keeps the gold.
I’m sort of curious if Rydell and 'Streamer are actually going to be on the same page. Will they fight each other, as well as the opposition for their own selfish gains? Or will they become a cohesive unit and give the Syndicate the biggest slap in the face possible, by reducing their Champion numbers by one, and both walking out with CoOperative gold?
This match has basically made the odds impossible for someone. Killian King, fighting to keep his half of the CoOp Titles. The Mainstreamer, fighting to gain one of two championships, likewise for Dave Rydell. But Alan Wallace, fighting to retain three championships, by not being pinned, or allowing someone up a ladder, or allowing his tag team partner to be pinned. Wallace has a huge task on his hands, and his only hope is that his tag team partner will be at the top of his game. Wallace can only pray, that Rydell and Graber are not on the same page going into this match. And that they will implode, and Sex and Violence will take advantage to get the victory. But how long will this match run? How much gas will each man have, especially Vain?
In closing, this match is going to be a showstopper. I will be watching, and waiting for the big finish. However, I think this one will steal the show. Good luck to all involved, and let’s hope my Vegas picks pay off.
