Induction:
The sounds of “Phucking Phreak” play through the festival grounds as Phrixus Deimos appears on the stage and approaches the Hall of Fame podium, settling behind it. It is several moments before he begins to speak.
“Today, UGWC opens the doors to its Hall of Fame for the second time, and as I did a year ago, I stand before you to induct a member representative of the Lock Wrestling Federation. While a year ago I did so with pride, today I do so with humble respect.”
“Chances are you hated Metalhead Matt Marauder. You were supposed to, after all. He knew his role and he played it to perfection. Triple M made his debut in 2002 and he immediately knew that he was destined to be a World Champion, and whether you agreed or not, he was going to make sure you understood. Matt Marauder was the chosen one, and while his frequent lack of humility rubbed a lot of people backstage the wrong way, his talent was undeniable, and it was impossible to hold him down forever, as he won both the Lord of the Ring tournament and later the Outlast Tournament in 2003, the latter winning him the World Title for the first of his four reigns.”
“So long as you paid him the respect he felt he had earned, you would get it back. It was arrogant, but his track record of success in key situations allowed him to get away with it. Bring him a bottle of Propel Water, and he would love you forever, so long as it wasn’t Black Cherry.”
Some chuckles in the crowd, and Deimos himself cracks the faintest hint of a smile.
“He loved the spotlight and he knew how to grab hold of it. The night I won the Lord of the Ring tournament myself, the headline was about Triple M winning the World Title once again. You could not upstage him, and even if you did, he found a higher stage, and would just dive off it at you.”
“He was arrogant, he was irritating, he was full of himself, but most important of all he was better than you. The fact that he knew and needed to tell you about it was irrelevant. Everybody knew it. You name it, he did it. Massive Melee. Lord of the Ring. Outlast. Main event of Lockmania. He won them all, and he is the ONLY person who can say it, who will ever be able to say it.”
“You might love him. More likely you hate him. To be perfectly honest, I was never able to stand him. But I do respect him, and today we bring him to a place that he without question deserves, and nobody knows that better than he. It is with honor that I present to you, the newest member of the UGWC Hall of Fame...Metalhead...Matt...Marauder.”
At this time, the handler for the Triple M character has not submitted an acceptance speech. If he does so in the future, it will be placed here.
