When I was attempting to still come to grips with my medically-induced retirement package that was provided to me by none other than the man who is now the Vice President of that nefariously felonious band of misfits known as 'The Devil's Most Wanted', I felt as if I was nearing the end of my proverbial rope. Everything that I had been known for…everything that I was…with one Flatliner to the concrete floor, it was all taken from me.
I was nothing.
It took four weeks for the feeling to return to my extremities, which was a minor miracle according to the doctors and nurses that provided excellent care during my time spent in the hospital. Apparently the injuries that I had sustained when that Cirrhosis-riddled buffoon dropped me on my cranium should have left me wheelchair bound for the rest of my natural born days. Almost one month to the day where I had almost been left a paraplegic due to the actions of a man that your very own stablemate once referred to as 'brother', I walked out of the hospital under my very own, unsteady, power. Yet the real battle was only just beginning.
Re-acclimating myself to a life outside of the world of professional wrestling was as daunting a task as I had ever faced inside the ring. Only this fight wasn't one that played out in front of thousands of screaming fans, and millions of others around the world. This fight played out in the mirror that I gazed into each and every night, before retiring for the evening. And with Reecie having left his position as my right hand, it was a fight that I was suffering to face alone.
And I was losing, badly.
It got to the point where I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue on. The pain - physical, mental, and emotional - was all too great to bare. I loathed Chaos for what he had done to me. I loathed myself even more for allowing it to happen. And I loathed the business itself, for forgetting that I had ever existed in the first place.
And then, you came into my life. Unbeknownst to you as it was at the time.
The things that I saw you accomplish in Headstrong Wrestling were items that I had wished upon myself at one time. And while I had been a World Champion at one time as well, what I had done in my career paled in comparison to the legacy that you had begun creating for yourself all those years ago.
And I knew that one way or another, Simon Wellington had to be a part of it.

Bryson Enterprises - Los Angeles - Tuesday
The scene opens within the luxurious office of one Bryan Bryn Bryson, who happens to be the head of Bryson Enterprises for those of you with short attention spans. Before that, he was one of the greatest professional wresters to ever grace the viewing audience with his presence. If for some reason you do not know who he is, then you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Bryson sits behind his desk, his fingers gently wrapping upon his desk as he silently listens intently at the conversation that is taking place before him. Three-quarters of 'The Syndicate' - Zane Scott, Killian King, and 'Vain' Alan Wallace - talk amongst themselves about what transpired a mere twelve hours ago.
"I tell ya, lad" Killian says, as he looks over at Zane Scott. "With the way that she's bloody acted over the last few weeks, I can't say it's surprising that she did what she did."
Vain continues polishing his World Title, and without looking up, speaks.
"Yeah, I can't say that I disagree with Kill. We all know that Ms. Morgan absolutely adores when she is the center of attention. And let's face facts, she has been anything but, ever since the four of us banded together under Mr. Bryson's exquisite tutelage and leadership."
Upon finishing his last sentence, Vain looks over at Bryson, and smiles that ludicrously beautiful smile that only he has. Bryson notices this - just as he had noticed the not-so-subtle ass kissing tactic that the World Champion had employed to simultaneously credit, as well as mock, the man that he works for. Bryson half-nods at Vain, but says nothing, as the conversation continues amongst the three men.
"Fortunately for my former Cooperative Championship partner" Zane begins, as Killian checks his phone and Vain goes back to polishing his title belt, "I have had a bit of time to calm myself, after she decided to walk out on me during our title defense. Unfortunately for her, that is an action that I will not soon forget, however."
"It's just as I said. Ms. Morgan truly enjoys being the center of attention. She hasn't been afforded that luxury as of late, due to the three of us. World Champion…Bedlam Champion…and we all know that you, Mr. Scott, were the reason why the two of you had become Cooperative Champions. Eden was on the outside looking in. She saw the supreme adulation that the three of us are met with on a daily basis, and her jealousy to be wrestling's focal point began to consume her. She had to take action."
"Lass did exactly what she bloody well intended to do then" Killian remarks, causing a sight shake of the head from Vain. "Because her actions are exactly what everyone is focused upon this morning."
"She should enjoy it" Zane calmly states, as a small grin begins to pull at the corners of his mouth. "There will come a time where she will rue the day that she decided to make her point at the expense of our championship reign. She will regret her actions, when she is forced to explain her actions in the confines of a twenty-by-twenty ring."
"Put a stifle on that for the immediate future, Zane" comes the first retort from Mr. Bryson, as he finally rises from his seat and walks around to the front of his desk. "While I understand the feelings that you currently have regarding Miss Morgan - and trust me, I understand them completely - right now we must concentrate on the task at hand. That task being Outlast."
"Alan most certainly remembers Outlast" laughs Killian, as he looks over at his 'Sex and Violence' partner. "What with all the bloody success he's had over the last two years and all."
"The only person to ever qualify twice for the main event, my friend. Vain qualified thrice in a two year span, lest you forget. Yet another mark that 'The Vain One' has set, that will most assuredly never be broken."
"Yes" Zane says, as the Champ looks back over at him. "Another mark sure not to be broken is that over that two year period, you were also the first eliminated each year. The second person eliminated the year that you qualified twice, correct?"
"Amusing as always, Mr. Scott. What is also amusing is how you are the only one amongst the three of us that doesn't currently have a championship. Maybe next time, eh?"
"Next time, indeed" Zane says in a sinister manner, as he leans forward in his seat. "That next time, happens next week, when you and I meet for that shiny object that adorns your shoulder."
"The Bedlam Champ may have something to say about that as well" Killian chimes in, causing Zane to momentarily look in his direction. "It's high time that the wrestling industry finally had a World Champion from the UK. At least one that isn't completely bloody useless, like that one hack that never could truly make an impact."
"Just remember…'Yours Truly' will be a much tougher test than PKA or Seito Risa. How'd those two opponents work out for you two again?"
The room fills with tense silence, as all three men take turns looking over towards one another. Bryson turns and walks back around to his seat.
"Remember" he begins, as he sits back down , and places his arms on his desk, interlocking his fingers together. "The time to prove which of you is deserving of being called the UGWC Heavyweight Champion of the World will come soon enough, but only if Team Zane Scott advances to the Main Event."
As Bryson is finishing his sentence, the door swings open, and in walks Eden Morgan. All four men look at her as she takes a seat.
"You still choose not to knock, I see" Bryson says, as he shakes his head from side to side. "I suppose that isn't surprising."
"What" questions Eden, as she takes a moment to blow a bubble with the gum that she is chewing. "I figure with all the meetings we have in this place, why waste time with inconsequentials? Or would you have me leave, and come back later?"
"If you were going to do that" Zane begins, as Eden looks over at him, a playful wink coming as soon as they lock eyes. "Wouldn't you just up and leave, instead of asking? Or is that only reserved for Cooperative Title matches?"
"I wouldn't want poor little me to get in the way of Zane-y receiving the glory that he so yearns for" comes the sarcastic remark from Eden Morgan, causing 'The Personification of Pain' t immediately become tense. "How'd that work out again, Zane-y Boy?"
"You have quite the death wish, my dear" Killian states, causing Eden to look over at him and roll her eyes. "I bloody dig it in a broad."
"It's never going to happen" Eden states, as she turns back towards Bryson's desk, a bored expression coming across her countenance. "Besides…I have all the Brit that I currently require. Oh, and Hugh says hi, by the way. I told him I'd pass that on to all three of you. Pleasantries, and all that."
"Must you goad them" questions Bryson, causing Eden to look at him in mock surprise. "Let's focus on Outlast, and what the three of you need to do, to ensure that a member of 'The Syndicate' walks out of the pay per view as the UGWC World Champion."
"If that is all we need to discuss, Mr. Bryson, then meeting adjourned. 'Mr. Ego' plans on leaving Sydney, Australia as the Heavyweight Champion of the World, anyway."
"Not bloody likely, Alan", comes the response from Killian.
"We shall see."
"Pretty much what I had in mind anyway, Alan" comes the retort from Eden Morgan.
Vain eyes her suspiciously, as Eden blows him a kiss.
"Pardon 'The Vain One' if he doesn't swallow your bait hook, line, and sinker, Ms. Morgan. Truth be told, I trust you the least out of everyone in this room. And keep in mind…I know what both Killian and Zane are capable of."
"I don't expect you to trust me, Alan" Eden says simply, taking time to blow yet another bubble with her gum. "Truth is truth, however…whether you want to believe it or not."
"What are you saying" Bryson questions, causing Eden to look over towards him. "Simply put?"
"Simply put" Eden says, a lascivious grin spreading across her face…"Stay tuned."
The room grows quiet, as each person in the room takes time to take everything in.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I planned for months and months. Us meeting couldn't just be happenstance, though it needed to appear that way. I needed you to feel the connection that I did, while I was witnessing you lay waste to the overmatched competition that you found yourself up against. Yet just when I was satisfied that my plan was fail-safe, you up and vanished.
I assumed that I had missed my chance. And the throttling depression began to seep in, yet again.
And as the years passed, the emotional torment continued to fester. I had missed my opportunity, and was relegated to living out my days as an almost-crippled relic, hell bent on past glory, and a future that would never come to pass.
And then along came the Unified Global Wrestling Coalition.
And once again, the chance that had previously eluded me.
The two of us have worked well thus far, even if I have been the only one that seems to be trying at times. However, I understand that you are who you are. And that fact, while completely and utterly infuriating at times, is what makes you the greatest wrestler that this industry has today. Hell, you just might be the greatest wrestler that this industry has ever seen.
But as always, there is still work to do.
And that is where I come into play.

Allphones Arena - Sydney, Australia - Friday
The media is out in full force, as today is the first day of the UGWC Invasion of Australia. We find ourselves live, right here at the Allphones Arena, in Sydney, Australia, where many members of UGWC have descended for one reason or another.
Robert Ooley has a combination 'Human Resources for the Human Mind' and 'Long Live the Louisille Slugger' booth set up, where you can both learn the intricacies of life being in the Human Resources Department, as well as how to make the weapon to beat your employees with when they choose not to conform to company standards.
Dirge is signing packages of Zest soap for fans, because you're not fully clean unless your Zestfully clean. And let's face it…if it worked for Dirge, it can work for anyone.
Dave Rydell is pimping his new Podcast. From what the media here in Sydney has heard, approximately seven people listened to it. A number which far exceeds all expectations leading its initial podcast.
Ichabod has been speculating on the dangers of smoking, from a first person perspective…a second-hand smoke perspective…and about whether or not smokers of the Newport brand of cigarette should wear their pants six sizes too big, or eight.
And Klaus vonKnorre has an autograph booth set up at the South end of the arena, however his line is nonexistent, as his fans all decide to take their balls and go home once they realized Vain has top billing here this evening.
Numerous flashes of bulbs, as 'Vain' Alan Wallace has made his way through the sea of fans, and safely made his way behind the microphone, taking a seat at the table. He smiles out at the crowd that he holds in the palm of his hands, and then speaks.
"Thank you, thank you…the pleasure is all yours, Australia…of that, 'Mr. Ego' is most certain."
Numerous media members begin speaking all at once, causing 'The Intellectual Adonis' to laugh aloud. That lone fit of laughter soon subsides, and Vain begins pointing out to the ones that he feels like calling upon.
"You there, the pretty little thing with the ponytail and the twinkle in your eye…how can Vain make your evening even better than just by your being in his presence?"
"For starters, Mr. Wallace, welcome to Sydney. I truly hope that you enjoy your stay. With that said, I'll skip right to the chase: Outlast has notoriously been hard on you, when it comes to perennial success. As everyone here is well aware, while you have advanced to the Main Event match in each of the last two years, you have suffered early exits once that match has started. Do you feel that, as the World Champion, you may have put those previous demons behind you?"
"And not only is she adorable, ladies and gentlemen, but she knows her wrestling history as well. Give her a round of applause, please. She's earned it."
The other members of the media look amongst themselves, before giving a soft, polite round of applause for their female counterpart. To her credit, she doesn't seem phased by Vain's 'compliment'. As the applause dies down, Vain leans forward to speak.
"Yes, it is widely known that, while Vain has had his share of success at this very event in recent years…said success has been fleeting, at best. And while I have put on quite a show for the last two years - setting records in the process, mind you - the end result was ultimately a dismal disappointment, as I failed to walk out of Outlast as the UGWC Heavyweight Champion of the World. Fortunately for me, I do not have to worry about winning the World Title this year. All I have to concern myself with is retaining my championship this time around. And while that will prove to be a chore in and of itself, the pressure is on whichever of my supposed peers advance to the Main Event match. Because for the last five months, a multitude of those very men and women have taken every opportunity to diminish the accomplishments that 'The Vain Lord' has earned. Monday will mark the day for the entirety of the UGWC roster to put their money where their mouths are, and prove that Vain does not deserve to carry the most prestigious title that this industry offers. And quite frankly, I don't like their chances."
Vain winks at the cute brunette whose question he just answered, before moving on to another member of the media. Pointing at the man, he motions for him to begin. The man obliges.
"Mr. Wallace, we have seen you have a few all out wars against the likes of Klaus vonKnorroe and Martin 'Mainstreamer' Graber. Those very two men are amongst the slew of people that will be participating in three qualifying matches, in order to determine which individuals face you at the end of the night. Of those two men, do you see either one having an advantage over the other, with regards to their chances at facing you for the UGWC World Title?"
"Both vonKnorre and Graber are two of the toughest men that I have ever faced off against in this profession. Our personal issues aside, both men are perfectly capable of making it to the Main Event, and standing across from 'Vanity at its Finest' in the World Title match. As for which one has the advantage? That is irrelevant, as neither man will have the advantage if they find themselves across the ring from 'Vain' Alan Wallace at the end of the night."
Vain motions for a lady in the front row to ask her question.
"What happens if the rest of 'The Syndicate' - namely the trio of Zane Scott, Eden Morgan, and Killian King - all advance to the World Title match? Will that cause issues amongst the four of you?"
"Not in the slightest, sweetheart. As the World Champion, it is my duty to face the best of the best, night in and night out. I'm nothing if not a fighting champion, and the only way to continue silencing the critics, is to fight - and beat - the best that our industry has to offer. And Zane, Eden, and Killian are at the very top of that list."
The lady asks a follow-up, as Vain just smiles down at her.
"So you will have us believe that, were 'The Syndicate' all advance to the Main Event and be part of the group that challenges for the World Title that you currently hold…that it will truly be a matter of the best wrestler winning?"
"Well yes, that is exactly what I am telling you, doll. As for the 'best wrestler' winning, I already planned on accomplishing that, as well."
Vain motions for an older gentlemen in the back.
"You have a question for 'The Clit Whisperer', Pops?"
The old man chuckles as he rises to his feet.
"Sure do, Alan. You've made a career out of alienating most people that you come across. It's no secret that you only care about yourself. What happens if the men and women that advance to the title match decide it is in their best interest to join forces, strictly to eliminate you, and ensure that a new champion is undoubtedly crowned? Any one of those six Captains, if they are able to make it out of their respective elimination matches, is perfectly capable of wearing the UGWC World Championship with extreme pride. As good as you might be - and as good as you think you are - how will you be able to withstand the onslaught that would be coming, if four or five…maybe even seven or eight…other members of the roster all join forces, strictly to not only eliminate - but embarrass - you?"
Vain contemplates his response for many seconds, all while the media anxiously awaits the words that he is about to speak. Finally, he gives them what they want.
"Do you not think that I've thought about that very thing? Do you not think that I have prepared myself for the possibility - hell, the probability - that everyone joining forces against me is exactly what will happen? Do you think that I'm new to this business? I have been around for quite some time, if you fail to remember, and it's been the same thing ever since Vain stepped foot into a wrestling ring for the first time. Ever since my first match, every coworker in every company that I have worked for has been jealous of 'Vain' Alan Wallace. And a leopard doesn't change its spots."
Vain grabs the microphone and rises to his feet.
"And which of those six supposed superstars would be a better option as champion, than Alan Wallace? Riddle me that, Penguin. Which one? Go ahead, turn around and take a look…they're all here."
"Over there…at the 'Where Are They Now' booth. Wafer's progeny Larry…maybe he's the one that carries this company into the promised land? Maybe he's the one that finally dethrones 'The Vain One', and defends the UGWC World Title with dignity and respect for the rest of the calendar year and beyond? Let's conveniently ignore the fact, however, that he is currently sitting over at an autograph booth with Waldo and Urkel, and his line is the only one that has nobody in it. Let's conveniently forget about the fact that I've already beaten Larry, and in fairly convincing fashion, if I'm not mistaken. And let's conveniently forget the fact that after taking months and months of punishment in the vein of 'training', that he still has yet to pull up his big boy Underoos, and tell both Ichabod and Martin to go fuck themselves. Sure, he has some talent…but he still has a lot to learn in regards to not letting people take advantage of who he is as a person. That's something that I learned at a very young age, and until Larry understands that, the possibility of him being a respected and feared champion is nothing more than a pipe dream."
"Speaking of Ichabod, maybe he's the one who's destined to be the next standard bearer of this industry? Maybe he finally gets his footing underneath of him here in UGWC, and begins to achieve the same type of success that he had throughout his career? Then again, he's also the same man that chose to team with a man that he decimated with a microphone less than two hours before choosing him to be a part of his Outlast team. He's also the man who puts each and every one of us at risk, each and every time he steps into an arena. Of course when you're the most feared and interesting man in the world like Ichabod is, those types of consequences come with the territory. Just look at him, calmly smoking his cigarette as he gives one to a young man that must certainly be a minor, and he hasn't got a care in the world. Any second now we could all be turned to dust, as a nuclear missile finds it's mark, and Ichabod isn't concerned in the slightest. Of course Vain is sure he'd somehow come out unscathed, so I guess if something like that were to happen, he would be named the new World Champion by default. I wonder if it would eat at him though, knowing that he was champion, but that he didn't beat 'Vain' Alan Wallace in order to accomplish it?"
"Maybe it's Jesse Williams' time? I can tell that he at least truly wants to be the best in this business. But can a man of his age truly lead this industry into the next great explosion of talent? After all the years of abuse, can he be the one that children all across the world look up to, and aspire to be? The biggest question is, how in the absolute hell can he expect to even make it to the World Title match, having to rely on the three men that he drafted to his team? Let's face facts, folks…any team with PKA on it is doomed to failure. Why, I see some of you asking yourselves? Well it's hard to make plans and execute strategy, when you aren't even sure if one of your own teammates will show up. Look at them over at the concessions area; Jesse Williams is doing all he can to take control, and develop a plan in order to ensure victory in their elimination match against 'The Drunken Misfits and the Savior of all that is Just'. And the only one that seems even genuinely interested in what he has to say is Graber. And while Graber is a good one to have on your side, the other two will just be detriments to Jesse's dream of becoming the next UGWC World Champion."
"Maybe Chaos will be the one that you people cheer for to become the one that dethrones 'Yours Truly'? Yeah, he would make an excellent choice as the face of the company, what with his raging alcoholism…the proclivity that he shows when engaging in deranged sexual activities with women of the 'working' class…his felonious past…and his current mental state. Hell, just look at him over there at the 'Devil's Most Wanted' booth: mumbling - most likely incoherently - to nobody in particularly, all while he has spent the last twenty minutes, minimum, scratching himself. To be perfectly honest, I don't know whether to feel pity for the poor bastard, or offer him money to fight Robert. From what I've gathered on the internet, there's money to be made in dirty bum fights."
Vain yells over at Chaos multiple times, before 'The Drunken Buzzsaw' finally looks his way.
"Hey Chaos, there's a thousand dollars in it for you if you go up to Dirge and punch him in the mouth. Just do everyone a favor…don't bleed on anything. We have neither the time, nor the patience, to have to worry about having blood drawn to ensure we don't catch Hep C."
Chaos begins shouting obscenities as he jerks up from his chair and begins making his way towards Vain. He is cut off by Jet Somers, however, and both Somers and Cypress Morgan begin shoving Chaos towards the exit, in an attempt to calm him down. Vain simply laughs as he looks back down at the gathering in front of him.
"Yeah, he would be a fantastic choice."
"Maybe the current Cross-Hemisphere Champion herself, Seito Risa? Maybe she can be the one to rise to the occasion, and relieve the stranglehold that 'The Epitome of Sexy' has on the World Championship picture? We can go ask her…she's right behind us here, talking about Japanese culture and where her nation would be were it not for what happened at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. You might want to corner her soon, however, as I have heard once she leaves here she will hold her nightly séance, in hopes that she can contact Ichiro from the Great Beyond, and participate in some truly wholesome apparitional slap-and-tickle. Of course she has died in the past herself, so would that honestly be weird? Probably a question for someone with a higher pay grade than myself, but does UGWC really need to ponder such questions of a person that is ready to take the reigns, and lead it into the promise land?"
"Do any of those wrestlers sound like they should - or even could - be the flagship of this great organization? No, the only person that could possibly do so, is a man that I have gotten to know rather well over the last few months. And he is a man that I have invited up as I end this interview session. Mr. Zane Scott, ladies and gentlemen."
Zane Scott has ascended the few stairs that lead up to the table that Vain stands behind, and the two men shake hands. Vain hands Zane a microphone.
"I appreciate you coming up here, Zane. I realize that you have other things that you would like to do. I just wanted to take a moment to tell you, here in front of everyone, that I would be honored if you were able to advance, and face me for my World Championship. Out of all the Captain's that are participating in the qualifying matches, you are the only one that I can see even having a snowballs chance in Hell of taking this title from me."
"It would be an honor" Zane begins, as the two men stand face-to-face…flashbulbs going off all around them. "It would be an honor to face you for the title that you currently hold, and keep it in 'The Syndicate' family once I take it from you."
"I'm glad to see that you still have a sense of humor, Zane. I know that you've been working on it. Kudos for that."
"Just remember one thing, Wallace" Zane says, as he takes a step forward, and goes nose-to-nose with his stablemate. "The only reason that you even had the chance to win the World Title, is because I gave the shot to you. You'd be wise not to forget it."
"And you remember that the only reason you have an outside chance at gaining a title shot now is because of Outlast. It certainly has nothing to do with your recent singles success, considering you couldn't even defeat a woman that Cypress Morgan actually killed in the past."
Both men drop their microphones and just glare at each other, as security makes their way to the stage.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
You've proven to be the pinnacle of this profession since you first joined the UGWC roster, and you have only amplified that fact since winning the UGWC World Championship at this years Massive Melee pay per view event. You have excelled in each and every pressure situation since then, and have fought back the challenge each and every time.
But to continue being the epitome of all that is wrestling legend, you must continue to push yourself…continue to excel in a profession that you are already the standard-bearer for. Friend and foe alike are all waiting with baited breath, expecting you to eventually fail, and prove the naysayers correct.
You must prove each and every one of them wrong. And that starts with Outlast.
Go into Outlast with a chip on your shoulder, do what it is that you do best, and walk out exactly as you walked in: as the UGWC Heavyweight Champion of the World.
It is your destiny, Alan. You are the one that has been blessed to lead this company to even greater heights than you already have. There is no one else that is capable of continuing the trajectory that you have set for yourself, Alan.
You must save this company from itself, Alan.
It is lonely at the top, Alan, but a Savior's work is never done.

Allphones Arena - Sydney, Australia - Saturday
The camera feed springs to life, and 'Vain' Alan Wallace is shown seated on the set of his Emmy-winning talk show, 'The Vain Vault'. He looks directly into the camera and speaks.
"Welcome to a very special edition of 'The Vain Vault'. I am your host, 'Vain' Alan Wallace, and I'm coming to you live from inside the Allphones Arena, right here in Sydney, Australia."
"Before I begin, I must admit that tonight's show is coming to you without a studio audience in attendance. It pains me to hold this award-winning program without my fans here to enjoy it with me, but there was a small-scale riot outside of the arena about an hour or so ago. Apparently this live edition of 'The Vain Vault' sold out in record time, thus creating an extreme amount of tension amongst the masses that were unable to procure tickets for today's event. That tension erupted in a sea of violence, resulting in the arena being closed off to the public today."
"Vain truly is loved by all…even if it is to the nth degree. Though it isn't surprising, if I must say. I am adored by the masses worldwide, and why shouldn't I be? I mean, I am the true holder of the record for most wishes granted for the 'Make a Wish' foundation…not that idiot from West Newbury. Is it my fault that my wishes aren't recognized, simply because I've granted them to the single most important person that has ever had the luxury of being born: myself?"
"I think not."
"Now, seeing as how I have a lot of preparation to do, in order to ready myself to entertain the entire world in a few short days, tonight's edition of 'The Vain Vault' will be an abbreviated version. And with no studio audience to contest my decision, it was an easy choice to make."
The camera begins to pan out slightly, showing the VainTron 5000 situated directly behind where Vain sits.
"It seems to me that many of my coworkers appear to believe that I do not have what it takes, in order to walk out of Outlast as the UGWC Heavyweight Champion of the World. My question to them is, have you not been paying attention over the last decade?"
"Most importantly, have you not been paying attention since 'The Personification of Perfection' first signed with UGWC?"
"It was all written in stone, the moment my signature first dried on the dotted line of my contract. And God knows this company needed all the help it could get."
The VainTron 5000 comes to life, showing a slideshow that contains still photos of Phrixus Deimos, Dirge, Donovan Hastings, Ichabod, Robert Ooley, Travis Pierce, Jet Somers, and Zane Scott. Vain speaks as the slideshow plays.
"The men you see above me have all had great success during their careers. Not as great as 'Yours Truly', but great success, nonetheless. The problem, however, is that their successes stagnated the business…whether it be here in UGWC, or elsewhere."
"The reason why it was so imperative for UGWC to sign 'The Vain One' was simply to move away from the dying breed that had perched itself on top for far too long, refusing to step aside and let the younger talent take the reigns."
"I came in and took the reigns, proving the likes of Phrixus Deimos, Jet Somers, and Dirge indispensable, and largely irrelevant."
"And the wrestling fans throughout the world rejoiced. For change was coming, and they had a new hero to look up to. You're welcome, World."
The slideshow on the VainTron 5000 switches over to a new crop of pictures, this time showing still photos of Barnes, Forewell Boding, Chaos, Cyrpress Morgan, Eden Morgan, Klaus vonKnorre, The Mainstreamer, and Jesse Williams. Vain speaks.
"The people you see above me now are all great competitors, and they all bring something to the table with regards to entertainment and redeemable qualities. Even if said qualities involve merely laughing at the idiocy that occurs during a drunken rampage, right Chaos?"
"The problem, however, is that none of these individuals have what it takes to lead a company. Not a single one of them has an intangible to them that would lead someone to say, 'that is someone that we can push…someone we can get behind…someone that is worthy if being called the greatest wrestler in the industry."
"And many of them have had more than there fair share of opportunities."
"Know what the end result was? Abysmal failure. PPW, UGWC, HSW, or whatever company that Forewell thinks he works for today…these men and women had their share of successes, no doubt. But they were never anything more than B-plus players, and a man like Vain only puts out A-plus-plus-plus matches night in, and night out."
"What horse would you hitch your wagons to?"
"You're welcome."
The slideshow on the VainTron 500 switches over to a new group of still photos, this time showing the likes of Cynric, El Blanco Leo, Gian Jones, Killian King, Larry, PKA, Seito Risa, and Dave Rydell. Vain speaks.
"These are a few of the men and women that fans around the world have stated time and time again, are the future of this company. The future of this industry. And while I agree with that take on Mr. King, what is it about the others that cause people to feel this way?"
"Cynric has obviously had a mental break somewhere along the way, and the fact that people actually feed into that psychosis is horrendous in and of itself. Wrestling career? No, what that man needs is court-mandated therapy sessions. For the safety of all of us, Cynric."
"The token masked Mexican, and the token black guy? We're all about television ratings, ticket sales, and merchandise sales, ladies and gentlemen…can either El Blanco Leo or Gian Jones be taken seriously enough, to lead this industry into the next decade? When both of their gimmicks scream bigotry and discrimination? That is better than 'Yours Truly'?"
"I shudder at the thought."
The VainTron 5000 shuts off, and the camera pans to a closeup of 'Vain' Alan Wallace.
"The past put us into the greatest lull period this industry has ever seen. The ones on top at that time either didn't notice, or didn't care. Either way, they inadvertently chose the path that this industry - as well as their careers - were led to: a vanity-filled path, full of raucous crowds, sold out arenas, and bigger paychecks…"
"The present set the business up for success, but then stagnated just as their predecessors had managed to do before them. A fan can only see so many motorcycle club tug jobs before having their fill of what constitutes entertainment, and finally turning the channel…"
"And the future? The future is rife with nothing but bleakness, because none of the supposed 'superstars of the future' will be able to sustain the momentum that it takes to lead a company to greatness. Even if said company already enjoys the vast amount of greatness that UGWC now enjoys."
"The greatness that Vain has bestowed upon it in spades."
"You see, I was brought in to be the savior of this industry. The journey has had its fair share of bumps over the last two years, but after the initial pitfalls, I've ascended to my rightful spot at the top of the mountain. And there isn't anyone in this company - past, present, or future - that has what it takes to take my spot from me."
"Outlast will mark an event where the past and present meet, in hopes to determine the future of the entire industry. And at the end of the night, it will be one man's duty to squash the uprising, and restore the order that is required to allow the wrestling industry as a whole to continue being the most exciting sports and entertainment venture in the world. And that man is 'Vain' Alan Wallace."
"You're welcome."
The camera feed suddenly cuts out, and the scene fades to black.
