We see a darkened set, with silhouettes visible of a table. A voiceover is heard from Rob Cartwright.
Cartwright: Ladies and gentlemen, he is the host of The Piercing Truth, you know his name, the Icon of Entertainment, and the Creative Director of UGWC, he is...TRAVIS PIERCE!
“You Know My Name” by Chris Cornell begins to play, and the lights come on to show a chair sitting backwards behind the desk. A monitor behind the chair shows the logo for The Piercing Truth. The chair slow turns around, revealing Travis Pierce.
Pierce: Welcome to the show! I am Travis Pierce, and welcome to the Piercing Truth, where we are just a few short days away from Horizons VIII in Chicago. Lots to talk about, we begin with top stories!

Piece: Theories abound regarding the true intentions of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, who remains a leading candidate despite being a horrifically offensive person. Speculation has begun regarding the fact that Trump, a well-known friend and supporter of the Clinton family, is only in the face at all to win the GOP nomination and then job the presidency to Hillary Clinton. In a related political story, speculation has already begun as to who will succeed yours truly as the Creative Director of UGWC in January, and whether I have and say or input in it. All I can tell you is that my focus right now is on my own return to the ring at Horizons, and everything else is going to wait.

Pierce: Conor McGregor stunned Jose Aldo in their UFC Featherweight Championship match this weekend, defeating the long-time champion in a mere thirteen seconds. Given the injury status of one of the competitors, people are wondering if a similar result will happen in the match between Travis Pierce and Zane Scott, considering the brutal attack orchestrated recently against Pierce. Of course, we know nothing is really wrong with Zane Scott, considering that right after his supposed “injury” at Battleground he was able to wipe the floor with Robert Ooley, one of the toughest S.O.B.’s in the history of the industry.

Pierce: The new Ron Howard film “In The Heart of the Sea” was a box office bomb this weekend because from two weeks ago to three months from now nobody has a concept that movies exist outside of some space opera flick, maybe you’ve heard of it. Meanwhile, “In the Heart of Controversy” is certainly a sub-title to the actions of myself as Creative Director this past year, in the subjective view of some people, a continued revisionist view of people who are jealous of me and what I have accomplished over this past year. 2015 saw the significant global expansion of the UGWC brand, the development of exciting new concepts and the return of fan-favorite past ones. It was nothing short of an unmitigated success.

Pierce: But Zane Scott doesn’t think so, does he? He thinks I have treated him unfairly. Let’s look at the piercing facts of it all though, shall we? This all began over a year ago at Battleground, when I defeated Zane to win the Battleground Match itself, and I’m sure in his mind rubbed salt in the wound when I used that opportunity to face his precious Eden and finally get justice for what had been done to me. I took my new position as Creative Director seriously, however, and decided that Zane did deserve a World Championship opportunity, and even allowed him to receive it early. He made the most of it, and the fact that he squandered it in a single week was not my fault. The fact that someone else who was facing the same circumstances as Zane Scott proved better than him in those circumstances is not my fault. How did Zane respond to adversity? The way a bully like Zane does. He took his frustrations out on a defenseless backstage interviewer. He took his perceived slights to a grievance on twitter. These are favorites from the Zane Scott playbook. He reduced himself to a glorified whiner. Yet through it all, Zane continued to receive opportunities, perhaps to a point beyond what he still deserved. Now I’ve offered Zane the chance to get exactly what he has claimed to want all year. Me. Zane has, of course, already set up his public excuse for if he loses. That has become something of a reflex at this point. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that for almost a year I’ve had to smile and endure your bullshit because I was obligated to. Now my time as Creative Director is drawing to a close and I don’t have to care what people think anymore. It means that I don’t have to turn the other cheek anymore, and I can shut your fucking mouth myself. I’ll see you and your sack of excuses in Chicago, Zane. It’s our time. Just remember…Zane...it’s not my fault that the truth...hurts.
”You Know My Name” plays again as we fade out…
