“I remember all of it. Images, emblazoned in my mind. Crow finally finding a way to keep TMA down for a ten count to win a Last Man Standing match. Phoenix defeating Nightmare to wrest the title back from the EWF invaders. When I drove Red Fusion through a table to unify the title with the UWF Global Title. My Best-of-Seven series with Alan. Arelas beating me in the first ever Vigilante Match to end a championship reign and record that would stand for nearly eight years. Diablo climbing the ladder and pulling down the title to begin a new era. Travis Pierce defeating The Big Time to end that same era. Alex Kiseragi winning the Dragon’s Cave match to become the unified champion at No Holds Barred. Jet Somers being the King of the Hill. Prince Rudo unmasking inside Hell in a Cell. When I escaped the Hall of Mirrors to end the reign of Zane Scott that broke my own record. Tournamental. Run of the Mill. I remember everything.”
“You remember shit.”
Robert Ooley nearly spat the words out. He reclined in his chair.
“I’ve kept my mouth shut on your shit for years. All you ever want to do is prattle on about how fucking precious the Cross-Hemisphere Title is. If Ol’ Bob didn’t know better he’d think you had an inferiority complex of some kind, or were overcompensating. You’ve been a World Champion everywhere you’ve been. Yet you cling to a second-tier title like it’s going to save the planet or something.”
“You held it once yourself. You take no pride from that?”
“Of course I do, I beat Arelost in his own stupid Vigilante match. I probably slogged the snake once or twice thinking about it. The difference is I don’t rate it higher than when I was the World Champion. Ol’ Bob didn’t get put in the Hall of Fame because he was a former Cross-Hemisphere Champion.”
“I assumed you were put in because your position in the Consortium seats you on the selection committee.”
“Fuck off.”
“After all this time, do you really not get it? The Cross-Hemisphere Title embodies history, legacy, heritage.”
“Yeah, I’ve heard all this from you. It’s a crock of shit. See, you don’t remember, do you? That’s right, you weren’t there. You came along a few months later. I was there, I was there on the night the first Cross-Hemisphere Champion was crowned. I’m sure you can spout out your Encyclopedia Britannica worthless trivia knowledge of what that official result was.”
“Phoenix defeated TMA.”
“And the stipulation?”
“Lumberjack Match.”
“Yeah, those are always fucking epic, aren’t they? Let me tell you how it went down that night. Tuscon and DMA were making trouble for Crock, and he thought the best way to deal with that was to pit them against each other and give them a reason to go at it. When that didn’t go the way he wanted it to, he had his lumberjacks beat the piss out of both of them, and when they were done he threw Tuscon on top and let him get the win just for kicks. That’s the foundation that your precious title is built upon. It was a tool. Kind of like you.”
“That is where you fail to understand. The value and meaning of the Cross-Hemisphere Title was not granted in a day. It was build piece by piece over a decade and a half, over fifteen years of blood and sweat. When people held it for a long period of time, and people did, it was because they deserved it. After all of that, over fifteen years, and fifty different people have held the title. Eden Morgan is the fiftieth.”
“What about her?”
“She does not deserve it.”

In 2003, I defeated a man called Monoxide to win the Cross-Hemisphere Title. Over the months that followed, I defended the title against the likes of Alan Fernandez, Phoenix, and Red Fusion. I unified it with the UWF Global Title, a unified title already itself. Alan and I waged war over a Best of Seven Series. When I lost, it was to one of the best in LWF history, Arelas, in his signature match.
In 2008, Darius Jermaine won the title from Psiko, who at that point was already a two time former World Champion. He would go on to successfully defend the title against the likes of Colby Colt, John Russo, and myself. When he lost, it was to Russo, who would go on to be a three-time C-H champ in his own right.
In 2011, Moss Edwards, under the guise of Prince Rudo, won the title from Jet Somers. He would go on to defend the title against Ezekiel Pax, Donovan Hastings, and Zane Scott, all successful World Champions. It remains the greatest championship reign in the history of the title.
In 2012, Zane Scott embarked on what would prove to be the second longest reign in history after he defeated Remi Monroe. He would defend the title against both Monroe and myself, yet it was I that ended his reign in the Hall of Mirrors.
These championship reigns were prolific, they were legendary, they are just as impressive if not more so than the more talked about World title reigns of Tyvola, Wallace, or Roberts.
It has existed for fifteen years and contains the lineage of four other championships that represent five past promotions. It has been defended in the Inferno Pit, the Hall of Mirrors, an Iron Man match, Vigilante matches, the Stairway to Hell, the Dragon’s Cave, the Bushfire, Hell in a Cell, Tournamental, and Run of the Mill, by people that scratched and clawed and fought and bled for every defense, for every day.
Eden Morgan sprang on the scene in 2013 and had a meteoric rise to the top. She won the Massive Melee barely a month into her career, and quickly thereafter defeated Jet Somers in a Valhalla Burial match to win the World Title. She defended the title against Seito Risa and later escaped WrestleStock with her reign intact, before being overthrown at Outlast.
She had peaked.
Eden stole back the title the following year at Sin City but was unable to hold it, losing her first defense. A year later it came back around, as she won the title only to have it torn away. Along the way she has seen her life descend into a never ending series of petty drama, be it her hostile takeover and deconstruction of the Piercing Media Network, or her power play with the Syndicate, once upon a time she has a stalker, then she suffers a mental breakdown, now she plans a wedding while sharing breakfasts with a would-be suitor, as the cycle of empty drama and distraction continues. Through it all, she has never proven to have been what her first few months promised she could be. She has a great many concerns. The winning and defending of championships is rarely among them.
Fifty people have held the Cross-Hemisphere Title. A great many of them have held it with pride, raised the stakes, contributed to a rich heritage.
Eden Morgan is not one of them. She is unfit and left wanting.
And I will take what she does not deserve.
