Dirge has been wrestling for over 10 years and has heaped up many accomplishments in that time. He’s been called everything from “The Momentum Killer” to “The Best Heel in the Business” and has held titles in almost every promotion that he’s been involved in. Dirge was the original and longest reigning ICW Television Champion, a World Champion in Impact Wrestling and PTIW and the longest reigning World Heavyweight Champion in RAWF, his reign lasting close to five months. He’s been a member of some of the most dangerous stables in wrestling, amongst them the Elite Establishment, The Icons and The Covenant.
1998- Innovative Championship Wrestling (ICW)
2 time ICW Television Champion
Dirge began his career at the age of 19 in a new promotion called "Innovative Championship Wrestling" or, "ICW" for short. ICW kicked off its existence at a "Brawl for All" type Pay Per View; "Free For All" where there were five rings set up in the arena with a briefcase each hanging over them. Each briefcase had either one of the three Championships of the promotion, the Television, Triple Threat Championship or Tag Team Championships or a guaranteed shot at each title. All of the talent started in the locker room and had to brawl their way out to the ring.
The Dirge of 1998 thrived in the environment as he was nothing more than an uncontrolled, primal beast who lived for the sake of violence. After battling his way down to ringside he engaged in a multitude of brawls, the most notable being against "The Big Kahuna", "The Cracker" Chad Columbo and "The Punisher" Darrell Music. Dirge was so violent and so vicious during the elimination stage that the fans developed an almost instant hatred for him. After eliminating close to half the roster himself he and Big Kahuna brawled in the center ring and eventually ascended the ladder. After a long, vicious fight Dirge finally eliminated Kahuna, injuring Kahuna's right shoulder and kicking off one of the most violent and formative feuds of his career. After ascending the ladder Dirge pulled the final briefcase down, tore it open and stood victorious with the ICW Television Championship held over head as the fans barraged the ring with trash and barraged Dirge with their hatred. Dirge was overjoyed. The outpouring of hatred was a rush that he'd become addicted to for the rest of his career.
After "Free For All" Dirge feuded with Big Kahuna, Matt Higgerson and "The Destroyer" over the Television Championship while trading barbs in an increasingly heated growing feud with Darrell Music, the inaugural Triple Threat Champion. Under ICW rules Dirge had to defend the TV Championship twice per program and did so successfully for a month. During one of those defenses he crippled "The Destroyer" in a Stretcher Match and ended his career. Dirge thought that he was invincible and frequently told the entire locker room how worthless they were compared to him.
His behavior would come to a head at the next PPV, as the locker room had become solidly opposed to the unbeatable beast and had petitioned Management to take the Television Championship from him. Management wilted under the pressure and Dirge was booked to defend his TV Championship against Matt "Daddy" Higgerson on PPV. Once the match happened it was horribly lopsided, with Dirge throwing Higgerson all over the ring. Just when it appeared at Dirge was going go defeat Higgerson, Music ran down to the ring and zapped him with a Tazer, causing Dirge to collapse to the mat as his body fought against him. Higgerson kept the Referee distracted long enough for Music to come into the ring and deliver his Finishing Move to Dirge twice before leaving. One this was done Higgerson pinned Dirge easily to steal the Television Championship from him.
That proved to be a serious miscalculation on the parts of all involved as Dirge went on a revenge fueled rampage. His first target was Higgerson, who he took apart in two separate matches. Unfortunately Higgerson had dropped the TV Championship before Dirge could face him for it and Management wouldn't award him the rematch that he'd never been given. Dirge decided to destroy the roster one person at a time until he was given his rematch. He started with Big Kahuna and the two men engaged in an epic feud that lasted until the Promotion closed a month later. Eventually Dirge and Kahuna would unite, much to the shock of everyone and form a dangerous team that would have terrorized ICW had it stayed open. Dirge would also reclaim the Television Championship before the promotion closed and feuded with Darrell Music for it until ICW folded. Once the promotion folded, Dirge took a short break and rested with his girlfriend Carolyn (who would later marry him). Not more than a month later two men would come knocking at his door...two men he'd never have expected to see.
Late 1998- late 1999- Radical American Wrestling Federation (RAWF)
RAWF World Heavyweight Champion (longest reigning)
RAWF Television Champion
RAWF Hall of Fame Member
RAWF is the promotion where Dirge really made a name for himself. Dirge was recruited by RAWF Owners Thomas Highway and (name to be added when I can remember it). Dirge carried his rivalries with Big Kahuna and Darrel Music to RAWF, although in RAWF it was more of a competitive nature than the mutual hate fests that it had been before. Dirge set his sights on the Television Championship as he had felt that he'd never been given his fair shot at ruling over ICW with the Television Championship there and decided to begin his run to greatness in RAWF by taking that Title in a strangle hold. Dirge did indeed win it, holding it for a few months before ending up in a World Championship feud with current Champion Chad Columbo. Dirge eventually defeated Columbo for the Title and at the same time formed the RAWF mega stable "Elite Enterprises" with Jarek Magnum, Shawn Dee and Baggs. The stable went on to feud with Big Kahuna, Blake Zulu and newcomer Alex Layne. Dirge again showed himself stronger than Kahuna, although their battles were a lot closer than they had been in ICW. The stable as a whole dominated Blake Zulu, going so far as to set him up for potential membership before the group turned on him in the ring and laid him out, delivering a vicious beating to him.
The came Alex Layne. Layne was a young but experienced grappler who was just as talented and motivated as Dirge. The two men feuded for months over the World Championship with Dirge successfully defending it twice before finally dropping it to Layne at a PPV, with some help from the returning Blake Zulu and Shawn Dee, who had turned on him and gone Face.
Layne, Dee and Zulu aligned themselves against the remaining members of the Elite Establishment and the two sides went to war for the next two months. During this time Layne dropped the World Championship to another newcomer, a man named Croc. Croc and Kahuna feuded over the World Championship, Layne disappeared and Dirge and the remainder of the Establishment continued to fight with Zulu and Dee. What no one knew, except for Dee was that Dee's apparent defection was an elaborate plan created by Dirge and Shawn Dee. The idea of the plan was to make everyone believe that Dee had defected from the Establishment with the purpose of destroying the group and eliminating Dirge. The real plan was for Dee to apparently defect, for the two men to build up a gigantic (albeit completely fraudulent) feud, win the confidence of Blake Zulu and the other Faces of the company and steer them all into a gigantic match on Pay Per View. Once the Establishment destroyed Zulu, Dirge would challenge Croc for the World Championship and take bake the Championship that he coveted so badly.
Dirge not only came up with this plan, keeping it from the rest of his cohorts in the Elite Establishment...but he came up with another plan behind that one...one that no one had any idea about...not even Shawn Dee.
On the night of the mega match everything went perfectly according to plan. The Establishment overwhelmed Zulu and his allies, leaving them bloodied and beaten. As they stood in the ring ready to finish them off Alex Layne made a grand return, attacking the Establishment. As the five men brawled in the ring, Zulu and his two allies came back around and the brawl became a four on three. Just when it looked like Layne and his new allies were possibly going to overwhelm the Elite Establishment the next phase of the plan came into effect. Big Kahuna came barreling down to the ring with anger and destruction written all over his face and his eyes screwed onto Dirge. He came into the ring and ran right up into Dirge's face. Everything in the ring came to a dead stop.
Then the twist no one expected happened.
Kahuna turned on Layne with a smile...
And proceeded to flatten him.
The entire building went insane as Dirge, Kahuna, Dee, Baggs and Magnum proceeded to destroy Layne, Zulu and their allies. After doing so Dirge got on the mic and proceeded to tell still World Champion Croc that he was coming for him and that it was only a matter of time before he took his Championship back. The mega group began to feud with Croc, Zulu and Layne and were doing so when RAWF closed its doors.
Six months after the promotion closed the two former Owners contacted Dirge for an awards ceremony that they were holding for former RAWF talent. At the awards show Dirge won "RAWF Heel of the Year" and was elected to the RAWF Hall of Fame alongside Kahuna, Darrel Music, Chad Columbo, Shawn Dee, Alex Layne and Croc.
Early 2000- Crimson Mask Wrestling (CMW)
Dirge was recruited to CMW by Big Kahuna, Chad Columbo and Darrell Music with the four forming a mega stable called "The Icons". Dirge's tenure in CMW was short lived as he was continually jobbed to Managements favorites. It was in CMW where he was dubbed "The Momentum Killer" by one of the CMW commentators. After approximately a month in CMW, where Dirge didn't win a single match although the majority of the promotion thought that he had deserved victories over all of his opponents, Dirge ripped up his contract, told CMW Management to stick it and left, returning to semi retirement.
Mid 2000- late 2001: Prime Time International Wrestling (PTIW)
PTIW World Heavyweight Champion
Dirge's next stop was PTIW which was ran by a man named Anthony Buckingham, with its main talents being Tukay Lionheart, James Spyder and Quentin Barnes. Dirge stayed in PTIW until it closed, making a name for himself as one of the top Heels in the company and claimed the World Heavyweight Championship before the promotion closed.
Late 2001- mid 2002: Universal Championship Wrestling (uCw)/ Impact Wrestling (IW)
gCw Tag Team Champion (w/ Erik Drugonov)
gCw Extreme Champion
IW Universal Champion (only IW Champion)
It was in gCw where Dirge made two of the most formidable friendships of his life. The first of them was "The Russian Destruction Machine" Erik Drugonov. (Most referred to him as "RDM"). The second was Deszaras (currently known as "Raenius"). Dirge was paired with Erik Drugonov as a joke initially, as a way to humiliate him. While Dirge initially resisted this pairing vociferously, once he got to know the young Russian the two men became close friends and an extremely efficient Tag Team. While paired with Erik, Dirge would eventually be dragged into trying to gain Erik his freedom from the Russians. This would see the two men get involved in some insane adventures together, many of which had a very comedic "James Bond" style of feel to them. Dirge would eventually gain Erik his freedom legally, helping him gain his US Citizenship...although it took another year for Russia to stop sending over agents to forceably bring Erik back. Along with gaining a lifelong friend, Dirge also gained Erik's former unit...a group of retired Russian Special Forces agents who would become the protection unit for Dirge's family.
During his tenure in gCw Dirge and Erik captured the gCw Tag Team Championship and Dirge won the gCw Hardcore Championship. Dirge also began teaming with Deszaras and eventually joined "The Covenant". Although gCw closed a short while later, the two friendships lasted past the promotion. Erik moved in with Dirge and Carolyn and became a member of the family along with Dirge's two daughters, Melissa and Amy.
While he was in gCw, Dirge was contacted by one of gCw's Backstage Officials, a man known as "Glasses". Glasses wanted to start up a promotion within gCw and take it out from within. Through backstage intrigue and in ring conniving, Glasses brought in a few recruits to his new promotion and started wreaking havok in gCw. After weeks of this Glasses finally walked out onto the stage with a large Championship Belt over his shoulder, berated the irate crowd and informed them that Impact Wrestling had a new Universal Heavyweight Champion...
Dirge walked out onto the stage and the fans went absolutely ballistic with rage. Dirge accepted the Championship, told the entire gCw locker room (minus The Covenant) and all of the fans to screw off and held his new Championship overhead. gCw and IW wouldn't last more than a few months after that...but by then the damage had been done and "The Momentum Killer" and "The Resident Evil" had become family. The promotions eventually folded and Dirge went back into semi retirement.
Dirge and Dez stayed in touch...
Dez would come knocking soon.
Late 2002- early 2003: HSW
Dirge was recruited by Dez to join him and The Covenant in this promotion. His tenure here was short as well, although he and The Covenant did have a very contentious feuds with the top Heel Stable of the promotion, "The Playaz Club". The two groups traded wins back and forth, but every time a member of The Covenant was set to take a Championship from one of "The Playaz Club" members, he was robbed of it in some sort of contrived screw job ending. This was the first time in Dirge's career where he was a borderline fan favorite. He didn't enjoy being cheered, it felt wrong to him. After a short tenure there, Dezaras and Dirge departed the promotion and eventually ended up in PPW.
Early 2005- late 2008: Pure Pain Wrestling (PPW)
PPW All State Champion (only one)
Mid 2009- March 2010: Global Impact Wrestling (gIw)
gIw Tag Team Champion w/Raenius (The Covenant)
