General Rules of Conduct
1. Have Fun
Without being too clichéd, if you’re not having fun, why are you here? We're an easy going bunch, but you're going to have a bad time if you are only interested in W/L records and winning titles. Sure we all want success, and all want to be a part of engaging story lines, but the best way to do that is to relax, enjoy yourself, and put your trust in the community to fulfill those desires.
2. We're a Community
UGWC and it's founder and partner federations have been around for the majority of the 21st Century. There have been high points and low points, but the reason we exist to this day is the strength of community. We ask that when you join you respect that, and be as involved in it as you are comfortable with. This includes federations we currently enjoy some collaboration with, as well as members of federations no longer in operation. We're all pretty easy to get along with, and you will be welcomed to the fold no matter experience, nationality, political views etc.
3. Respect
Respect is important, we all know that, but it is essential to make somewhere like this survive. Respect other people. Respect their lives may be drastically different from yours and respect the effort it takes to write for the entertainment of others.
4. When You're not Happy
It's not uncommon in this hobby to become disillusioned, offended or generally pissed off at something you read. Maybe someone has misused your character, maybe you don't agree with the way you were written in a match, there are many reasons we can see red. We try not to be too authoritarian, as hopefully these rules will reflect, and whilst you can always come to the admins, it's usually just best if you calmly approach the person who has inspired these feelings, more often than not it's a misunderstanding that is cleared up much easier without needlessly escalating it. A private message to the UGWC Staff or moderator account(s) will clear things up much more peacefully than ranting on social media or the public forum.
