I have a special place in my heart for folks who do adaptations that flip the antagonist and protagonist. Showing Mario as a conquering invader is brilliant. It's also an excellent fit for Duncan, as it speaks directly to one of the biggest flaws he has, which is despite trying to play the hero, he often is hoisted by his own petard due to his predilection for edginess and being a glory hound. You really put paid to that. Beyond that you also were able to pull off, especially using such an abhorrent creature as a spider, how misunderstood monsters can be. Who would have thought an adaptation of Mario Brothers could have been such a deep examination of characters?
