Your Synergy coverage begins, now…
Earlier today, the Dead Rabbit Society prepares.
It seems that we’ll get another week where a Rabbit gets sacrificed to a member of the roster. Last week it was JC demolishing Violent Rabbit. This week Macho Rabbit (OOH YEAH) gets to earn his stripes in UGWC. Poor guy. Who knows, he could surprise us and make his mistress, the former lover of his opponent, really happy. Stranger things have happened in UGWC. We had a talking penguin, remember?
Ok, I don’t think that’ll happen either, but that’s what we have the matches for.
The bell rings and Tempest charges at Macho Rabbit, barraging him with punches as he cackles maniacally. The Raabit gives ground until Tempest swings wildly, Macho Rabbit ducks and responds with a headbutt that surprises Tempest. He smiles, but is immediately hit with a chop and another headbutt, this one to the chest. Tempest looks at it and lunges at the Rabbit, but he ducks under it and tries for a running shoulder block. It doesn’t work as planned, but he keeps going and leaps at Tempest, delivering a springboard headbutt that knocks Tempest down to a knee. He locks the former World Champion in a headlock and wrenches on it, making sure to rub his forearm across Tempest’s face. He wrenches it in and goes to throw Tempest into the ropes when he suddenly lets go with a yelp and shakes his hand. Tempest smiles as Macho shows Referee Sam Green, who warns Tempest not to do it again. Tempest smiles and “promises” to, but has his fingers crossed behind his back.
He turns to look for Macho, only to find him by way of “Macho” (OOH YEAH), a double axe handle to the face. The move staggers Tempest and Macho Rabbit goes for the ropes and executes it again from the top rope, sending Tempest to the mat. He jumps up onto the turnbuckle again, leaps off going for the Rabbit-Jack. This is where his run of success ends. Tempest moves and Macho Rabbit does a splat into the mat. (Imagine that!) Tempest cackles with glee and goes to work with a jumping knee drop to Macho’s back. He follows it with a back rake, then locks Macho into a crossface, which he wrenches back on hard. He crosses his free leg over and uses it to repeatedly kick Macho in the side of the head. He does it as Sam begins a five count, which eventually forces him to break the hold.
He throws Macho into the corner and slams into him with a running knee, then blitzes back across the ring and blasts him with a cannonball. He kneels down and barrages Macho with headbutts that cause the Rabbit to slump further and further into the corner. Tempest stands up and reaches for his forehead, running his fingers down the small stream of blood that’s running down it. He crows like the maniac he is and repeatedly punchesh himself in the forehead so that he’s bleeding properly. He wipes the blood from his face and jams his hand into Rabbit’s mouth with a mandible claw. Rabbit chokes and sputters until Tempest drags him out of the corner by his mouth, flips him onto his stomach and thrusts them back in with the “Fishboy Sculpture.”
Macho Rabbit struggles, but his shoulders are down, and he's counted down for the three just before he begins tapping!
Winner: Tempest
Time: 7:28
A replay shows that the three count did indeed come before the tap.
Davison started off the Round Robin with a win last week over Holden Orson, Rydell coming off a tough loss against Travis Pierce.
Double elbow tie-up to start the match, both men grappling for position. Neither seems able to gain an advantage until Rydell shifts and connects with a knee to the chest, and pulls Davison into a snap suplex. Rydell floats directly into a cover, but Davison shoves him off right away. Rydell rolls to his feet and continues the attack with a series of stomps before dropping to his knees and following up with forearm shots, but Davison shoves him away again. Rydell gets a running start and comes off the ropes with a leaping clothesline, taking Davison right off his feet again. Rydell goes to do it a second time as Davison gets back to his feet, but this time Davison catches him in a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, and covers for a two count.
Davison begins hurling Rydell around the ring with a series of various suplexes, including a German suplex and an overhead belly-to-back suplex. Davison grabs Rydell in a gutwrench, but Rydell catches him with an elbow to the ribs and is able to break free. An arm drag sends Davison into the corner, and a monkey flip sends him back out towards the center of the ring. Rydell steps through the ropes and climbs the turnbuckle, and he leaps and connects with the Rydell Bomb! Rydell covers, but only gets a two!
Rydell checks the time remaining and takes a moment to collect himself before picking Davison up and hitting a shoulder breaker. Rydell stomps repeatedly on the same shoulder, then pulls Davison to the ropes and puts that arm on the ropes before leaping into the arm and dropping his weight upon it. The referee admonishes Rydell for his actions, but Rydell brushes her off and tells Nasmith to just call the match. Which, you know, is what she was doing. Rydell turns his attention back to Davison, who springs from the mat and grabs Rydell, tugging him to the ground, and Rydell rolls under the ropes to the apron. He uses the ropes to pull himself back up, but Davison comes over the top rope and pulls him into the Fall From Grace!
Davison gets back to his feet on the outside, rotating the shoulder that Rydell was attacking a minute ago. He grabs Rydell and sends him back in the ring before rolling in himself. Davison goes to grab Rydell, only for Rydell to pull him into an inside cradle, and Davison kicks out at two! Both men get to their feet and Rydell ducks under a clothesline, comes off the ropes and connects with the Tip of the Spear! Rydell covers, but Davison gets his shoulder up at two!
Rydell lines up for the Rydell Stomp, but Davison moves out of the way! Davison kicks him in the gut, lifts him into a gutwrench suplex. Davison falters momentarily, going to a knee and holding his shoulder, but he shakes it off as Rydell stirs. Davison starts to set up the Kenadian Destroyer, but Rydell breaks free and twists out, grabbing the arm and pulling Davison down into the Rydell Lock! Rydell is applying pressure and torque to the damaged shoulder, and Davison looks in agony! He reaches for the ropes, but they are out of reach! Rydell attempts to increase the pressure, but Davison shifts his legs and pushes off, rolling the pair over, but Rydell maintains the hold as they roll back into position! The ropes are still out of reach! Davison is struggling, but the bell rings as time expires!
Winner: Time Limit Draw
Time: 10:00
Rydell releases the hold and pounds his fist on the mat in frustration, clearly feeling he had the submission with another few seconds. Commentary praises the resilience of Ken Davison as he managed to hold on as time expired, and both men will pick up a point in the round robin.
Montague is out first, and he enters with a half smirk on his face. Deimos follows and he looks a lot less amused. The bell rings and Deimos stands still, staring out at Cervantes, who bows cheerfully. The Embodiment of Fear ignores the mocking gesture and the two circle each other in the ring. When they lock up, the Mothman ducks and steps behind Deimos. Before he can take the time to appreciate his own counter, however, Phrixus promptly backhands him across the face. Taken by surprise, Montague stumbles backwards. Before Montague has a chance to recover, Deimos charges forward with a stiff clothesline.
Deimos capitalizes, stomping away at Montague, before pulling him up to his feet and whipping him into the corner. Montague dodges him as he sprints towards him, though, and Phrixus goes chest first into the turnbuckle. Montague attempts a back suplex, but Deimos somersaults backwards and lands on his feet. Cervantes times it perfectly, and turns 180 degrees, hitting a discus clothesline. Now it’s Montague’s turn to stomp on the Astro Creeps’ long time adversary.
Cervantes lets up a bit and allows Phrixus to get to his hands and knees before measuring him up and stomping on him again, planting him back down onto the mat. He backpedals and calculates his next attack as Deimos once again gets to his knees. Cervantes charges forward, but Deimos dodges the attempted shining wizard. Deimos stands and swiftly hits a neckbreaker that swings the momentum in his favor.
He crawls on top of Montague and applies a camel clutch right in the middle of the ring. Cervantes struggles as he inches towards the ropes. Even though his movements slow the longer Deimos has the hold locked in, he manages to reach the bottom rope with his long outstretched arm, forcing Deimos to break the hold.
Deimos backs away as Cervantes collects himself, climbing to his feet with his arm hooked over the top rope. When Deimos makes a move towards him, he counters, sliding behind Deimos once more and applying a wristlock behind Fear’s back. Deimos acts quickly, connecting with a back elbow to the side of Montague’s head and forcing him to break his hold. He turns and kicks Montague in the gut, and quickly follows up with an evenflow style DDT.
Phrixus climbs to the top turnbuckle and perches at the top, with the Meteor Press in mind. Suddenly the Globaltron comes alive and the face of Daedalus is centered, a half grin on his face. Deimos understandably stops in his tracks and turns his attention to Daedalus on the screen. Not to be distracted further, Deimos looks back down at Cervantes, but he’s already up on his feet. The Globaltron goes black as Deimos leaps off anyway and hits Cervantes with a missile dropkick. Moments later, the Globaltron comes alive once more, Daedalus cackling in the center of it.
Deimos stands and pulls Montague to his feet, doing his best to ignore the distraction, but as Montague climbs to one foot, he uppercuts Fear right between the legs! He pulls him near the corner of the ring and connects with an STL (Stick the Landing). He makes the cover and gets the pinfall victory.
Winner: Montague Cervantes
Time: 11:27
Daedalus continues to chuckle on the Globaltron as Montague has his arm raised in victory. Finally, the Architect of the Astro Creeps speaks.
Daedalus: Congratulations, Mr. Cervantes, on a well-earned victory. I feel that some sort of… reward should be in order for all of the hard work you’ve been putting in. We’ve got a lot of work to do… don’t we Montague?
In the ring, Montague smirks and nods, and Daedalus giggles even more before the Globaltron goes black once more.
Winner: Travis Pierce
Time: 1:49
Wolf and Scott are face to face in the ring, and the tension is building even before the bell. Greene has to step in between them and create some space in order to officially start the match. The audience is on their feet already, and no one is surprised when the bell rings and both men start throwing right hand strikes.
Ezra blocks one of Zane’s shots, and throws a headbutt to break his rhythm, then grabs The Professional and pulls him into a release German suplex. Scott attempts to roll through up to his feet, but Ezra hits him with a Fore’n Object and covers for a two count.
After kicking out, Zane rolls over and drags Ezra to his feet, lifting him up and hurling him into the corner. Trapped, Wolf can’t get away from the lightning fast muay thai knees that Scott is slamming into him. Scott backs away a bit to let the Red Eye Warrior fall into his grasp, then lifts him up for a powerbomb onto the top turnbuckle.
He’s going to set Ezra up, laying him across the turnbuckle, but out of desperation, Wolf throws himself into a blockbuster that takes Zane by surprise. As they land, Wolf kips up and leaps onto the other turnbuckle, going for Peace Out, but Zane explodes off the mat with a massive uppercut that flattens Wolf. Hobo Harmonizer is the name of a thing that happens in this match, and after it happens, Scott drops down and hooks a leg for a 2.87 count.
Zane can’t believe it as Wolf scurries away, but when he goes on the attack, Ezra makes a believer out of him by hitting a single-leg dropkick. Scott is stopped, but not down, and as he staggers back to a full standing base, Ezra hits him with a flying crossbody! Wolf doesn’t try to fool himself that Scott’s finished, and wastes no time covering. Instead, he positions himself as Zane begins to recover. The moment Zane is up to a three point stance, Wolf rushes in for a big spear, and when Scott sits up, he gets hit with a Penalty Kick!
Zane kicks out halfway from 2 to 3, and bench presses Ezra away. Wolf hops up to his feet and jumps up onto the turnbuckle. Zane powers up, and Ezra leaps off for a Knee Jerk Reaction, but Scott hits him with a jumping knee! He grabs Ezra and pulls him into Salt the Earth, finishing him off with Conspiracy of Silence and covering for the 3 count.
Winner: Zane Scott
Time: 9:18
As Sam lifts Zane’s hand for the victory, Zane yanks his arm free and stares daggers down at Ezra. He shakes his head with frustration before leaving the ring.
Bit of a debate between Hastings and Seb as to who is going to start the match. Hastings gets belligerent about it and Seb gives up and steps out to the apron. Hastings turns and sees Lucy starting for Numinous Fate, and he turns and signals that he wants a tag. Seb rolls his eyes, as does Lucy, and Hastings suddenly spins to catch Lucy by surprise, but she’s ready for it and catches him with a right hand that sends him stumbling back into the corner. Seb asks Hastings if he still wants to tag out, but Hastings ignores him. He rushes Lucy and runs into a spinning heel kick, again tumbling back towards his own corner, and this time Hastings reaches up and tags Seb before rolling out of the ring.
Lucy waits for Seb to come into the ring, and they exchange nods before circling in the ring. They lock up momentarily, but Lucy sweeps the leg to take him down, and Seb rolls out of the way of a stomp. Lucy takes him down again with a springboard leg lariat, goes right into a cover, but Seb kicks out quickly. Lucy wastes no time bringing him into the Numinous Fate corner and delivering a pair of stomps to keep him down before making the tag to Rogan.
Rogan brings Seb out of the corner and takes him down with a swinging neckbreaker, takes a moment to check what Hastings is doing, but Hastings is calmly watching from his corner. Rogan with a release German suplex on Seb, again takes a glance towards Hastings, as commentary reminds us of the history between them. Rogan pulls up Seb into a waistlock, but standing switch executed by Seb, into a release German of his own.
Seb snidly asks if Hastings is ready to come back in yet, Hastings responds by telling him that he’s doing well and to keep going. Seb turns into a snap T-Bone suplex from Rogan, Rogan quickly brings Seb back to his feet for another, but Seb adjusts and counters with one of his own! Seb hooks the leg, but Rogan kicks out at two.
Hastings tells Seb to stop messing around, prompting Seb to glare at him, and Hastings offers to tag in if Seb can’t handle it. Seb seems to consider it for a moment, but turns his attention back to Rogan and walks into the Rise of Hydra! Rogan lifts Seb into an electric chair position and turns to tag Lucy, but Hastings rushes into the ring and delivers a chop block to Rogan, who falters and drops Seb back to the mat. Lucy rushes into the ring and spears Hastings, and they tumble together under the ropes to the outside.
Rogan and Seb are both down in the ring and start to stir, and they exchange chops as Hastings and Lucy battle on the outside. A spinning back elbow by Rogan knocks Seb tumbling away, but on the outside Hastings sends Lucy into the steel steps, with the impact echoing through the arena. Rogan looks to the outside with concern, and Seb connects with the Empire Kick! Seb covers and gets the three!
Winners: Donovan Hastings and Sebastian Everett-Bryce
Time: 10:21
Seb has his arm raised in victory, as meanwhile Hastings rolls back into the ring with Seb’s Chaos Title, and he smashes him in the back of the head with it! Hastings pushes Seb onto his back and grabs his head, pounding him with a series of punches, and he picks the Chaos Title back up and callously throws it onto Seb as he smirks at him. Hastings drops out of the ring backs up the ramp, pleased with himself as Numinous Fate regroups and checks on Seb.
