From: The Office Of The Revolution
Dear Aito Chen (AKA Komosube)
We write to you today to regrettably inform you that on September 20th 2008, sometime after 10pm GMT, we shall be relinquishing you of your position as Global Impact Wrestling’s Global Heavyweight Champion. We would be obliged if you would bring the title belt to Madison Square Garden on said date to relinquish said title to its new owner, Mr Travis Roberts (AKA The Blessed One, The Headliner, The Most Influential Icon in Sports Entertainment this Millennia)
Declan Prescott and Travis Roberts would like to thank you for your work over the past two months in fulfilling their targets for your reign as Global Heavyweight Champion. You have performed your tasks admirably and The Revolution couldn’t have hoped for a greater ally in their cause. Your descent from focused, dignified warrior into arrogant, crazed sociopath has been all The Revolution could have planned for and more. Your dedication in falling into insanity is commendable to say the least, and The Revolution will not quickly forget your help in laying the foundations of the future.
Despite the fact you have known for the entirety of your title reign that you have not deserved the glory thrust upon you, despite the inadequacies you recognise in yourself, you have admirably portrayed yourself to the outside world as a credible Champion. In doing so you have safely ensured that when you ultimately relinquish the Global Heavyweight Title to ‘The TWISTeD Guerrilla’, The Revolution will explode into the limelight.
‘The Significant Player’ and ‘The Blessed One’ would also like to thank you for not disputing any of their claims over the past few weeks. They understand it would have been easy to try and defend yourself against the truths ‘The Headliner’ has revealed about yourself, sometimes having your true self exposed can be hurtful and cause a person to try and discredit those claims. But rather than trying to debate, you have continued to reinforce ‘The TWiSTeD Icons’ claims in public, you continue to portray yourself as an untamed savage, and ‘The Blessed One’ as the truly wise sage that he is.
The Revolution hopes that you had been expecting this turn of events and have made the necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth transfer of power. Mr Prescott and Mr Roberts also trust that you understand the decisions that have been made, as they have faith that you are an intelligent man. But in case you have been struck down with a debilitating brain disease in the past few days, they have taken the time to compile the reasons for this essential change:
1. Growth of the Company. [/u]
For GIW to reach the upper echelons of world sport, its Global Heavyweight Champion has to be the pinnacle of the industry. The man who holds that title must stand on the mountaintop, high above his peers, and radiate confidence to the world. It is imperative that Global Impact Wrestling’s number one representative is an example to the world of athletic excellence and mental prowess. For Global Impact Wrestling to truly take its place as the World’s Number One Sporting Franchise, it must be lead by a true Superstar, someone who can enthral millions of people around the world with comfort and ease.
In the past GIW has only ever had one man to hold that belt, who has truly encompassed the qualities of a Worldwide Sporting Icon. Unfortunately since his reign the Global Heavyweight Title has lost its prestige. It would be fair to say, that the title holders prior to yourself were not of the calibre of Athlete needed to take the company to the next level, in fact they were doing the opposite, dragging the company into the mire. Their respective title reigns each took some element of glory away from the Global Heavyweight Title in unique ways.
It is true that your title reign was essential to the plans of The Revolution. For ‘The Blessed One’ to have triumphed over a Demented Trick or Treater and a Half Crazed Indiana Jones Wannabe, would not have highlighted to the world his talents. Whereas a victory for yourself was the making of your career, and since then you have begun to grow in to a respectable ‘big man’ wrestler. You are by no means of the calibre to lead GIW to the next level, but you excel in comparison to your predecessors. Therefore when you relinquish the title to Travis Roberts, you will be seen by the eyes of the ignorant masses as a true challenge, you have established yourself as a monster who can lift large vehicles with one hand, a beast of a man whos power knows no bounds. Despite the fact none of this will help you in the ring with an athlete of the calibre of ‘The Headliner’, the outside world are ignorant of this, and when Travis Roberts defeats you to become Global Heavyweight Champion, the world will believe he has slain a true monster.
In a few months, when you find yourself working for the most successful sporting franchise in the world, despite the lack of gold over your shoulder, you will be aware of the role you will have played in getting us there.
2. Progression of your Career[/u]
Whilst it may seem to you unjust that The Revolution have deemed now to be the right time for you to relinquish the title, your own career has been taken into consideration. Whilst your reign to this point has been successful, any longer and your career would begin to decline. After two months in the spotlight, your obvious flaws and inconsistencies will be exposed to the public, by the time the companies next Pay-Per-View comes around, you would be deemed unfit to draw the expected buy rates and GIW would be forced to hold a double main event to maintain the integrity of the company and the Global Heavyweight Title.
As has been stated already the job you have done since The Revolution granted you the opportunity of being Global Heavyweight Champion has been exceptional, but The Revolution cannot continue to portray you as a significant threat. This brief reign has propelled you into the upper card of the company, and with time you will become regular main event material. However, if we were to continue your reign as a False Idol, the public would soon realise the fact you are indeed a Puppet Champion, and that Travis Roberts’ accusations were indeed true and just. In a scenario such as this, where the Revolution pity you and let you continue as Champion, the Company, the Global Heavyweight Championship and your Career would be irrecoverably damaged.
So whilst you may feel slighted at having your greatest achievement to date taken from your hands, The Revolution implore you to remember this is for your own good. One day, it is indeed possible, with a lot of hard work, and mental stimulation, that you may well become true Global Heavyweight Championship material for the GIW of the future. Being the man Travis Roberts defeats to usher in a New Era of Excellence to GIW, will be a great accomplishment for a man of your abilities, and will fair you better in your future career exploits. As you can no doubt see it is essential that you relinquish the Global Heavyweight Title at Battleground for the sake of your own career.
3. Fans need to relate to the Champion[/u]
It is imperative to the future Successes of Global Impact Wrestling that the flag bearer for the company is a man that the worldwide fans can relate to. Unfortunately your crazed oriental routine does not fit the bill. Whilst it has it’s positives, and watching you shout at defenceless women is highly entertaining, it is not a routine the average human being can truly relate to. Also contrary to popular beliefs, not everyone in America (or the world for that matter) is an overeater. Even when you are not at the heights of sociopathic rage you have displayed in recent weeks, very few fans across the globe can truly associate with your proud traditions and rigid honour in the face of adversity.
Where as everyone can relate to Travis Roberts, although none are as naturally blessed as ‘The Headliner’, everyone knows someone who is better than them at something. The entire world is made up of people with their own personal rivals, and their own personal idols, the people they wish they could be. No matter what age, profession or nationality we all know someone that Travis Roberts reminds us off. Whether it is the School Quarterback who’s just so good on the field, and great with the ladies that it makes you sick, that other Car Salesmen who sells twice your amount because the women all fawn over his every word, or the Movie Star that just seems to get all the best roles and women, Travis represents them all. They will look at ‘The TWiSteD Guerrilla’ and know that he is truly their superior in every way, and will religiously tune in to see him perform at the top of his game. The fans will also recognise that Travis Roberts is head and shoulders above the rest of the GIW roster, and that will lift the credibility of the championship.
Whilst you are incredibly important to our sales and popularity in the Orient, your character and style do not translate to worldwide public appeal, and due to this naturally you cannot take the company any further in your role as Global Heavyweight Champion. On the other hand ‘The Blessed One’ will generate interest from every country on the globe, in turn raising GIW’s profile, and indeed your own paycheque. It should be perfectly clear that the only sensible business decision to make is for you to relinquish the Global Heavyweight Title no later than September 20th 2008.
4. Relationship with the Media
As has been mentioned Global impact Wrestling is entering a new era, having grown from a regional division, to a successful national promotion in rapid style, the next step is obviously to become a worldwide brand. To do so Global Impact Wrestling’s relationship with the media will be at the forefront of any strategy the company employs. Needless to say the company’s Global Heavyweight Champion has to be able to handle the demands the increased media exposure will undoubtedly attract. Moreover, it will be essential for the success of the company, that the main spokesman for GIW is someone who can reach those who are not normally interested in our profession.
Whilst the idea of seeing yourself sat opposite Jay Leno, squeezing onto his world famous sofa and screaming incoherently at one of America’s most well known personalities on prime time TV, is certainly one that would provide much merriment and mirth, it is precisely the image we need to avoid. Many people outside of the industry have a negative view of what we do; they have been scarred over the years by the mistakes of other companies, and assume that every Professional Wrestler is merely a caricature or even worse a joke. For GIW to wheel you out in front of the press, whilst you go through your sociopathic fits of rage, would jeopardise, to put it lightly, any chance of Global Impact Wrestling being taken seriously as a sport. The very people we are trying to attract have seen the tired old sumo routine played out before, in their eyes it is fit only for their children.
Travis Roberts on the other hand has proven he has a charismatic personality that can reach out across the vast chasms that have separated our Industry from that of top tier entertainment for so long. ‘The Blessed One’ is the man ‘Time’ Magazine quoted as being the only man currently active in professional wrestling with any chance of making their front cover. ‘The Headliner’ is truly an entertainment phenomenon, and to ignore this, and waste his talents would be professionally negligent behaviour on GIW’s behalf. In Travis Roberts we have one of this generations most captivating stars of any medium, and Global impact Wrestling will ensure it takes advantage of this fortuitous turn of events.
It is clear that the only option Global Impact Wrestling has, in regards to its media relationships, is that Travis Roberts is the only man with the pedigree to lead the company into global dominance. Add the facts already noted, to the rumours regarding your own behaviour, such as incidents of sexual abuse, and it is clear that Komosube is one of the weakest choices available in regards of a figurehead to expose to the media. In an era dominated by 24 Hour News, Internet TV and Radio, this issue on its own is enough reason for you to relinquish the Global Heavyweight Title at Madison Square Garden this weekend.
5. The Champions Associates [/u]
Almost as important as the identity of the Global Heavyweight Champion are the associates he has. For GIW to truly push the limits of what Sports Entertainment is capable of The Global Heavyweight Champion’s image must be the complete package. The man who represents this company as it’s very best, must also move in circles that highlight his importance. We must ensure that we take every opportunity to ensure Global Impact Wrestling experiences as much, positive, media coverage as is possible.
Travis Roberts alone will draw the media towards him, but his associates will ensure his name is mentioned in more column inches than any other sports star. ‘The Blessed One’ has surrounded himself with a group of people that will only help promote Global Impact Wrestling across the board. In Craig Futile he has an associate who is mentioned in the financial papers almost every day, a man whose company is one of very few still thriving in the current economic climate. This association alone will draw interest from areas Sports Entertainment is usually ridiculed within. In his agent, eD cASe, he has befriended a man with a debilitating physical disease, and possibly a mental one too. In doing this ‘The Headliner’ endears himself to the disabled masses around the world. The importance of his relationship with Declan Prescott should not need to be highlighted, as a partnership so charismatic and intelligent as The Revolution speaks for itself. In the position of Global Heavyweight Champion Travis Roberts would be a truly sensational ambassador for the company.
On the other hand, your circle of associates, Mr Chen, leaves much to be desired. Your appearance as out of control, psychotic, screaming madman may have been workable if there was at least one person in your circle who seemed as though they could reign you in and discipline you, as it stands there is no-one. Aragato merely seems as insane as you to the majority of the world, this may have been due to recent antics in a drinks commercial, but nevertheless his outward perception is no better than yours. Moreover he has less commercial and media appeal than yourself, outside of the wrestling dirt sheets no-one in the media is interested In Hiroshima and is unlikely to drive media coverage for GIW.
Although Aragato is your only truly close associate, there are others that have enough of a connection with you to impact media coverage. Unfortunately the interest these individuals would attract would be unwanted by the company. Initially there is the Crimson Ghost, and although there is no direct link between yourselves, the fact he is responsible for training your cousin, Chinatsu Chen, is enough of a link for journalists to focus on the relationship. His anonymity has many in the industry worried, and rumours abound that the CIA have files on him from his time in Africa, do nothing to ease these fears. The Ghost is a clearly unstable individual, who is also rumoured to have some very questionable sexual habits. This is exactly the sort of associate the Global Heavyweight Champion cannot have if GIW is to move forward. Any negative revelations regarding this masked individual would also taint the Global Heavyweight Championship.
Finally we have your cousin, Chinatsu, of all your associates she is obviously the most media friendly. A strong women with principles, talent and a winning personality, she would surely be a media darling. However your treatment of your cousin would negate any positive impact her relationship with you may have. If GIW were to press ahead with plans of worldwide expansion with you at the helm, how long would it be until stories of you berating this small, defenceless woman, threatening to ‘break her skull’, would make it to the news stations? How long until Women’s Rights groups began to attack Global Impact Wrestling for being a misogynistic institution? In this day and age it would not take long at all.
Given the identified facts, it is clear that ‘The Blessed One’ and his associates would benefit Global Impact Wrestling in the ferocious glare of the world’s media, whereas your associates, Mr Chen, would bring nothing but problems and lawsuits upon the company. This is yet another compelling reason for you to willingly relinquish the Global Heavyweight Championship on Saturday Evening, for the good of Global Impact Wrestling.
6. Your Mental Health[/u]
As your employers Global Impact Wrestling are bound by law to do everything within their abilities to ensure they protect your health. Obviously, given your profession, certain injuries will occur which are out of their hands. However Global Impact Wrestling is dedicated to ensuring that the only health related incidents occur inside the ring. This includes any mental health issues that may arise.
It has become clear with every day since you, controversially, gained possession of The Global Heavyweight Title that a speedy deterioration of your mental health has begun to occur. GIW psychologists attribute this to the internal struggle the way in which you gained the title has triggered. Given the traditions of your background and the environment in which you were raised, the dishonourable way in which you gained the Global Heavyweight Title, has doubtlessly lead you to believe you have bought shame upon the Chen family name.
At the same time though, you are a fiercely proud warrior, and becoming the top man in the company has been your ultimate goal since you arrived in the United States. Despite the circumstances of your victory, you would like to truly believe you deserve to be Global Heavyweight Champion. This struggle has raged inside your brain for months now, and our psychologists believe you have chosen the easy, yet potentially more dangerous option. You have decided to try to block out the dishonourable, shameful facts that cloud your title reign, and merely focus on the fact you are champion. They have reached the conclusion, that your displays of unrepentant rage and delirious shouting, have been attempts to draw attention away from the fact you are not a worthy champion.
The GIW psychologists have advised that you are under serious mental strain, and that if you continue down the same path, they cannot be sure what you will be responsible for. In the post-Benoit era, Sport Entertainment companies must be vigilant in ensuring another tragedy does not occur, as it would surely be the final nail in our industries coffin. Given the advice of these leading psychologists The Revolution could not allow you, in good faith, to continue on as Global Heavyweight Champion for fear of being partly responsible for another unspeakable tragedy. The Revolution are aware of the pain you are going through, carrying around the burden of being such a disgraceful champion, and would like to ensure you on September 20th at Madison Square Garden your pain will finally cease.
7. Because They Can[/u]
The Revolution trust that you are an intelligent enough man that the previous six detailed points would have left you in no doubt of why you must relinquish the Global Heavyweight Championship. In the event that you are more mentally deficient than The Revolution give you credit for they would like to place in front of you one final, undeniable truth. In simple terms The Revolution would like to remind you that they gave you the Global Heavyweight Championship, and that they can take it away anytime they see fit.
Mr Roberts and Mr Prescott would like to remind you how lucky you have been in recent months. You were handpicked by these two generous and talented men to spearhead the change in ethos they wished to promote across the company. Had it not been for their influence and direct interference at ‘In Your Hands’ you would not have been in a position to receive this letter, you would have remained in midcard obscurity. When you relinquish the title you will be an established main eventer, with a glittering future in front of you, all thanks to The Revolution’s hard work and generosity.
Not only did The Revolution hand you a title reign, they gave you the chance to have a relatively long run with the belt. Rather than placing you in a match with ‘The Blessed One’ and ending your reign in mere weeks, they stepped aside and allowed you to crush Brandon Brown, a man with equal mental problems to yourself. Whilst you have openly disregarded the idea that you are indeed a ‘Puppet Champion’, it is clear that without the kindness of The Revolution you would not even be that. No gold and no glory would have adorned you, just endless feuds with Captain Saviour, Marlo the Beautiful and Levi Witham.
In conclusion The Revolution would like to remind you that you have no right over the Global Heavyweight Championship, your reign is far from undisputed and they have every cause to relinquish you of that belt. They would expect you to be grateful that you will at least be relinquishing to the greatest athlete on the roster, and that you have the chance to turn to your grandchildren and regale them with stories of how you once fought the mighty Travis Roberts and almost pulled off the impossible. These are memories that will last much longer than the shame of your title reign, and they are a gift from The Revolution to you and your family for all your hard work.
Once again Messrs Prescott and Roberts would like to thank you for all the services you have done in the name of The Revolution. On September 20th, when ‘The Blessed One’ ushers in a new era of excellence in Global Impact Wrestling, you can be safe in the knowledge that you played your part, Aito Chen, in GIW’s rise to the top.
Yours Gratefully,
Declan Prescott and Travis Roberts
