Synergy during the Main Event
[The locker room of the UGWC Co-operative Champions is revealed to us all for the first time, it is a strange mix of 'The Headliners' extravagance and 'The Hardcore Hermits' eclecticism. Next to a Sixty Inch Full HD TV stands a rescued, one armed mannequin, wearing a high visibility vest jacket, a necklace made out of (hopefully) animal bones and tin cans, upon the head sits a KFC bargain bucket with a flashing road light attached to the top of it. The hand carved coffee table, as ever allows an ornate crystal ashtray to sit upon it for 'The Blessed Ones' delicacies, next to it however sits a pile of different length skin shedded by numerous snakes arranged around a black candle.
Curiously a section of the wall seems to have been damaged and water pipes hang from it dripping in the corner as if they should have been attached to something, which has apparently been forcefully removed from the wall, taking sections of brickwork and plaster with it. Underneath this apparent vandalism lies a four foot long, rectangular trough, filled close to the brim with stagnant water.
Travis Roberts sits upon the couch, which has been decorated with bottle tops attached at random across the leather, in a sombre mood. His head in his hands, staring at the end of a fuming delicacy, he is apparently trying to block out the noise coming from across the room.
Where Tyvola is stood in the corner of the room, facing the join of the walls, counting very calmly, but not accurately. eD is stood behind him pleading with the Jackal of Jwar Isle to come out of this state.]
Tyvola;”Sixty-Seven, Sixty-Eight, Twelve, Eleven, Ten, Thirty-Three, Thirty-.....uh....Three...'
eD – 'Look I'm not sure what happens when you get to whatever the magic number is, but it's nto worth it. You didn't even really lose out there, and I know...I know Travis seemed a little angry, but he was just shocked like we all were. But I'm sure it's all...part...of...erm...The Great Sphinx's plan?'
[Tyvola suddenly spins round and looks at eD]
Tyvola; “He...”
[Tyvola suddenly stops speaking and begins to look around the room swiftly, a look of panic spreads across his face momentarily, followed by the kind of confused look anyone trying to follow and Andy Savana storyline is familiar with, and then he rolls his eyes as if remembering something that calms him down and he turns back to the wall. During these different stages of emotion displayed by Ty, eD has leant back and extended his hands in fear, much like a vampire shirking from the sun.]
Tyvola; “One Thousand and Twenty, Twenty Three, Twenty Four...One Hundred! Ready or not, here I come!”
[The Hermit spins round with a giddy smile on his face, brushes past eD and tips the Sofa that Travis sits upon up and looks underneath, shaking 'The Headliner' out of his trance, before swiftly dropping the couch back down, causing 'The Blessed Ones' trademark Aviators to fall from his face and onto the floor, smashing as they do so. Before Roberts is able to exclaim, Ty has dashed out of the door. Immediately eD begins to follow, before Travis speaks]
Travis – ''The Blessed Ones' need for eye protection is not that urgent.'
eD – 'I've got to go after him, or we'll lose him...'
Travis – 'That shouldn't be a problem, wouldn't you say that cow's been milked enough recently? Besides, like a loyal dog he always comes back.'
eD - 'I still think I should go after him, if only for the well being of UGWC employees...'
Travis – 'No 'The Headliner' has more urgent things to attend to, you need to find Donovan for me.'
eD - 'I think he left straight after his match, he usually does, at least I never see him loitering around.'
Travis – 'Why would he loiter? Just go and check his locker room...'
[eD's eyes widen...]
eD – 'His locker room?'
Travis – 'What part of this is so hard for you to grasp? You are standing in 'the Blessed Ones' locker room now, the next step is relocating yourself to The Lord's.'
[eD's eyes narrow and he clenches his fists]
eD – 'He has his own locker room?!?'
Travis – 'When did you get lobotomised? Donovan Hastings is the UGWC World Heavyweight Champion, you think they make him get changed behind a dumpster?'
eD – 'Ok....Ok....IF he has his own Locker Room...'
Travis – 'Which I assure you he does.'
eD – 'Why is his damn Throne still taking up half my apartment?[/b][/color]
[eD has got so heated, and aggravated his entire body colour has changed, and he stands in front of Travis who looks at him seriously for a moment or so, before shrugging.]
Travis – 'The Burley Men are otherwise preoccupied? Who knows, just go an see if Donovan is here, Travis Roberts tried calling but it seems like he's changed service providers and got a new number...'
[eD cocks his head]
eD – 'Sure you haven't just selected the wrong number?'
Travis – 'Of course 'The Blessed One' is sure, what have you mistaken him for, a member of the Aussie Rebels, Midnight Oil, or whatever name signifies the most retarded grouping of them all? Go and find Donny?'
[eD just shakes his head and walks out fo the door starting his search for the World Heavyweight Champion, when he is out of site, Travis pulls his cell from his pocket and looks at it for a moment, before pushing a few buttons, before looking sheepishly back at the door. A few seconds pass, and he looks shocked...]
Travis – 'Uh....Wrong Number...Err...Yup it is 'The Headliner', but he didn't mean to call you Don...Errr...Don King?....'
[As Travis tries to clumsily cover his own foolishness, eD comes quickly back into the locker room, and Travis quickly ends the call]
eD – 'Put on the TV!'
Travis – 'Why?'
eD – 'It's the main event.'
[Travis responds like an excited child]
Travis – 'Ooooooooh! Is Travis Roberts wrestling?'
[The excited tone quickly drops as he ends the sentence.]
eD – 'No but I have a feeling the Royal 1st Battalion may be coming after your belts, they're making a hell of a statement...just give me the remote!'
[Travis hands his agent the remote, and sits back casually on the couch, both arms behind his head.]
Travis – 'Even in the unlikely event of Travis Roberts having any interest in the British Royal Families favourite rent boys, the TV would be no use, we're broadcast on the interweb now.'
eD – 'All the TV's are linked to the live stream...on channel 23'
[As eD speaks the words, the main event appears much to Travis disgust, as Hans' voice descends of the room]
Lieberjosch: It should be as The Brigadier General takes advantage of the increasingly slower and weaker fists coming his way to roll out of the way, causing Russo to jar his arm into the canvas, giving the opportunity for the captain to roll onto his knee's, and then Blake just drops an elbow on the neck of John Russo, and once again the only men standing are The Royal 1st Battallion, you can be sure the Queen is glowing with pride right now...
Travis – 'Beating on Savana and the guyt hat ebat Kiseragi, big statement, 'The Headliner' really needed to...'
Vinegar: OUT OF NOWHERE THE BRIGADIER GENERAL IS TURNED INSIDE OUT BY A THUNDEROUS RUNNING BIG BOOT!
[Travis suddenly stops talking and springs from the couch and stands upright]
eD – 'Uh...Trav, your phones vibrating...'
Lieberjosch: Who the hell is that...
[The Blessed One's phone is indeed vibrating in his hand, and it slowly drops to the floor as 'The Headliner' is entranced with the images on the TV]
Vinegar: DASHING DRIVER....
[eD leans down and picks up the still vibrating phone, oblivious to what has his boss' attention so firmly gripped]
Vinegar: ...has taken Captain Ryder out with his own finisher...but I still can't make him out
eD – 'It's Donny...Trav?...Trav?...It's Donovan on your cell...'
Vinegar: SIGNIFICANT IMPACT! IT CAN'T BE!
[eD now drops the phone and turns to the screen]
Travis – 'It's....Declan.'
[And it all goes black]
[Quite clearly, everyone has lost claim to their senses, leaving you, former Special Agent Forewell Boding, as the only voice of reason in the circle you currently exist within. This isn't a new sensation, you had experienced it on numerous occasions at a myriad of Bureau's, so you are more than accustomed to having to investigate your various hunches without backup, and quite often it forces you to be more resourceful.
None of your current informants and fixers were thinking straight, and would be more of a liability to your quest right now. All of them seemed to be focused on something hugely inconsequential, such as Travis and eD being focused with a former homeless man, and Owen Peterson was too stressed about something to approach. Tyvola was still keeping his deep cover up, and as laudable as his efforts were, you were honestly stunned by his dedication to the cause, they left him unable to come to your aid this week. So once again, you're alone Boding, just as they want it.
In a few days time you will be coming face to face with possibly the most nefarious member of the Unified Global Wrestling Coalition's motley crew of civilisation threatening goons. The only member of this company to have had a file at every organisation you have worked for, including the Anti-Menstrual League and The Society for the Investigation and Protection of Wildebeest. Without a doubt this man was linked to so many of the worlds most complex, unimaginable and downright confusing conspiracies set in motion by them over the course of the last decade, the chance to get close to him a gleam some information is one you cannot let pass you by.
You had been searching your brain for the past couple of days, trying to recall some of the plots and operations you had seen him linked to, and although the list was relatively small compared to the full extent of his involvement in the almost inevitable fall of society, it still highlighted how important this meeting could be to the success of your life's goal to rid the world of them.
The 2008 Taiwanese Tamagotchi uprisings had his fingerprints all over them, and the mass disappearance of Bees was something many speculated was directly linked to the pandemic of contaminated honey that has seen many a bear in North America become obsessed with log tossing and tree raping, activities that were rumoured to have been found filmed upon his computer hard drive when seized for unrelated reasons. Whilst many have dismissed him of any part of the Suduko Mind Bend or the recently uncovered Koala Smuggling ring, you are not so quick to jump to judgement. These crimes against humanity were acts a man who is strongly linked to the Columbian ironing board counterfeiting ring would be more than capable of.
He had also been spotted in the company of shaded men, even in areas devoid of any structures to block sunlight, on no less than one thousand four hundred and twenty three times, and without any Bureau credentials whatsoever, this strongly implies he may also be part of Operation Sunblock. Around twelve months ago he is said to have been staying in Hawaii at the exact time the writers of Lost realised their cerebral cortex's to be missing, that surely wasn't just coincidence.
And it wasn't just him, his family had also been involved, less successfully in antisocial plots. His mother was picked up peddling imported Bulgarian Merkins in a five star hotel, and his sister was caught stealing all the pens from every residence in a suburb of Chicago. However subsequent to both arrests both were released within forty-eight hours and all charges dropped, suggesting his importance could reach very high up the ladder indeed.
Much of this was just rumours, he had been concretely linked to many a horrific crime, including numerous homicides, and was at one point considered a material witness of the utmost importance in the infamous Maguire Murders, an embarrassing blight on the history of this countries law enforcement, and one they could not so easily cover up. Yet he was never called to court, nor was he even questioned in regard to these matters and was allowed to slip untracked back into the underbelly of society.
Despite the images he has projected of himself as a drug and a narcotic dependent schizophrenic, just from the few cases you have recalled it was evident Andy Savana was possibly the key to humanities survival, and he could well be oblivious to this fact. You know at this moment that you will have to proceed carefully, so much can be gained from this meeting, and if you play it right you may be able to gain further time with this most important of individuals. You have so many questions, and Andy Savana could well be the answer to many of them]
A few days after Synergy
[We rejoin 'The Headliner' and his Agent eD cASe in the latter's apartment, after what has clearly been a rather unproductive few days. The entire room is strewn with Pizza boxes and Chinese take-out containers, and 'The Blessed One' sits upon the couch with a delicacy and his manner suggests he has rarely been in any other position since returning from the arena on Monday night. eD lies across Donovan's throne, his legs dangling across one arm, his head the other. He is staring at the ceiling, his eyes have glazed over, and he has the harrowed face of someone who has been forced to watch past Ground Zero segments on rerun for an entire afternoon]
Travis – 'It can only be a good thing, he never held anything against 'The Blessed One', we were a team, partners, we had each others back. Just because he disappeared didn't mean that Travis Roberts had done anything wrong, 'The TWiSTeD Guerilla' was not the motivating force behind his departure. It would be ridiculous to think otherwise....absurd even.
We were 'The Revolution' the single most dominant force in the history of Global Impact Wrestling, we scaled heights none had even contemplated, and we did it together, 'The Headliner' and 'The Heart and Soul', no-one could rival us, no-one could even come close to us. We endured some unfortunate times, it can't be denied, but we fought through them at each others side, 'The Most Influential Icon in Sports Entertainment this Millennia' could always rely on 'The Significant Player'....'
[eD raises his head with a great deal of effort and looks over, interrupting.]
eD – 'Until he disappeared...and I think you'll find it's 'The Darkest Light', which, just for the record, makes about as much sense as a comforting fright.'
Travis – 'Exactly! Exactly! You were there with Travis Roberts when he saw Declan's return speech...'
[eD groans]
eD – 'I've been with you since he returned...I daren't leave your side...'
Travis – 'He apologised! Declan Prescott admitted fallibility, and whilst it was portrayed as an apology to the masses, only the most intellectually challenged could not recognised it was meant for 'The Headliner'. There is no way his return can be a bad thing, no chance at all, especially when he is asking for redemption from 'The Blessed One''
eD – 'If I agree can I go to bed?'
[Travis sits back looking content, and takes another drag on his smoke, but after a few moments, completley ignoring eD's question, he sits upright, bolt rigid...]
eD – 'And so it continues...'
[Travis' face has dropped from a look of supreme confidence, to one of confused uncertainty.]
Travis – 'But he is with Savana, who has made it clear he is targeting 'The Blessed One', and whilst he claims it to be for professional reasons, not even Andy Savana has enough hallucinogens in his to system to possibly believe he can be successful in such a foolhardy dream. Certainly Declan would be savvy enough to work that out, unless Andy's behaviour fits into his own plans. Nothing was ever quite what it seemed with Declan...
Savana was always a bad influence on him as well, come to think of it. It's not that Andy is malicious in his actions, but he manages to bring out the darkest sides of most of his acquaintances, and they don't come far darker than Prescott. Who even knows if this is the same Declan that was a GIW legend, his heavy intake of alcohol could well have left him with some measure of brain damage, and he could somehow blame Travis Roberts for the demise of his own reputation, and company.
As ridiculous as it seems, who knows what an alcohol and drug ravaged brain could believe, especially when fuelled by the cryptic insanity that flows from Andy Savana's mouth on a regular basis. 'The Blessed One' has to be aware, and ready for the possibility that Declan may not be returning with the best intentions in regards to 'The TWiSTeD Icon'.'
[Travis stops talking and slouches back on the couch dejectedly, he smokes and sits whilst eD watches him keenly. After a few moments eD starts to straighten himself up and looks' towards his bedroom door, and back at Travis who is just staring into the middle distance, allowing his delicacy to burn away in his hand. eD places his feet on the floor and begins to stand, but sits back down with a large sigh as Travis starts up once more...]
Travis – 'But we were 'The Revolution'...'
