“You have to know what’s going on behind your back when you’re in a tag team. You have to know if your partner really has your back like he says he does. If he doesn’t then you can just find a better one if you want to. If he is watching your back good then that is when you really have to watch him. You can’t trust someone who pays attention to you.
It is human nature for people to do what will get them ahead of everyone else and that’s the point of a tag team. Instead you start jumping by twos. Like skipping steps on a flight of stairs, you stab others in the back because their partners couldn’t-”
Teacher: Uhm, Mr. Savana might you maybe tone it down a bit?
Savana zones back into a class room of kids whose faces all have dropped jaws.
Savana: What I'm trying to say is like relationships and presidents; you have to choose your partners very selectively. So when I go out there and Declan is standing beside me, I know everything should be okay.
Kid #1: What about when you got beat up by Roberts and Hastings?
Savana: Well, what that is called is a surprise. Roberts and Hastings surprised the both of me and Declan and they won that battle.
Kid #2: Are you going to beat them up this week for what they did?
Savana smirks and pops his neck in annoyance. The teacher senses his annoyance and tries to wrap things up but Savana puts his arm out in front of her and stops her.
Savana: One down side about tag teams is that your partners liabilities become your own. So when Declan tells me I can't go out there and rip some ass up-
Teacher: Mr. Savana!
Savana: Sorry, when Declan says I can't go beat ‘em up for personal reasons…I kind of have to oblige him. The cool thing about the wrestling business is that like any economy there is an invisible hand that moves thing to equilibrium. Sooner or later UGWC as a company won't be able to avoid putting me up against Travis Roberts.
Kid #1: What about Hastings?
Savana: Oh, yeah me and Declan against Roberts and Hastings…
Kid #2: What’s oblige?
Savana goes to explain but a knock on the door startles him and everyone else. Before the teacher can answer Declan Prescott rushes in.
Savana: Tickle me surprised.
Declan: Told you I’d make it. Sup kids? How are all of you?
Kid #1: My dad says your just going to stab Andy in the back and try to win the world title and fire his ‘ass’ again.
Teacher: Richard!
Richard: Sorry.
Declan: Wow that was a strong first question.
Savana seems to think deeply on the fact that other people have considered the fact that Declan is just rousing them all. He pushes the thought out of his head and smiles to the class.
Savana: I assure you that Declan and I are so tied in liabilities that if he even considered turning on me I’d know.
Declan: You know all of your parents were different when they were younger. Just like them I grew up into a different person. Sure, it came rather late and after I did a lot of things but it came nonetheless.
Kid #2: Mr. Savana said its because of you that they can't get back at Roberts and Hastings.
Savana: I didn’t blame you I just said that because we’re-
Declan: It doesn’t matter because like an invisible hand in an economy-
Savana: I told them that already.
Declan: Well than that saves me the time of explaining it. You guys want some exclusive news first? Me and Andy are taking on Alex Kiseragi and Farewell Boding this week on Synergy.
Kid #2: Who’s Farewell Boding?
Savana: Kiseragi….?
Declan: Yeah, me and Andy going to go out there as have our first ever match together as Co-Op Champs…it’s our chance to show everyone just what Roberts and Hastings messed with…for later…
Declan seems to be directing all of this at Savana more than the students. Savana notices and steps forward in front of Declan a bit.
Savana: Because you know kids defeating a team that had nothing to do with the attack will really help you get even. It’ll show just how mighty we were when on our first night as champs were made to look like fools. Defeating a team that consists of Farewell Boding will be just spectacular and no doubt salvage what dignity we have left from that night.
Declan: Forewell…his name is Forewell…and lets imagine someone had a bit of a grudge going on against Kiseragi for a loss, I’d imagine this could clear up his mind a bit to get a win. Instead of going into important matches against Hastings and Roberts worried about things from months ago…
Savana: You know, kids sometimes things you did a long time ago come back to haunt you…
Declan: Threats are only intimidation tactics when nothing is done about them…
Savana: Looks like Travis and Roberts went through on a promise at the pay per view…
Savana gets angered and goes to leave the room.
Savana: By the way, Hastings wants you to meet up with him.
Savana slams the door behind him leaving Declan look awkward in front of the group of kids. The teacher saves the moment by passing out fliers for the upcoming Synergy show.
