Sunday 11th January, Backstage During Sentinel
[The scene opens outside the locker room allocated for The Unified Global Champion, on the Plaque outside it reads; ’The Revolution’. The door opens and Travis Roberts erstwhile agent goes striding through, and our intrigued gaze cannot help but follow him into the room. The room has been redecorated since Alex Kiseragi’s reign as Champion, a huge Panasonic Plasma Screen TV adorns one wall, currently showing Declan Prescott’s ongoing match against ‘Diamond’ Jack Severino, and a large leather sofa stretches almost the full length of the room. As expected ‘The Headliner’ Travis Roberts lounges on the sofa, watching the match intently, so wrapped up in events he does not notice his agent enter, until the well dressed muppet speaks.]
eD – ‘So...how’s it going champ?’
[Travis briefly draws his gaze away from the match, and raises an eyebrow towards eD over the rim of his Aviator Sunglasses]
Travis – ‘’The Headliner’ is watching ‘The Heart And Soul of GIW’ teach ‘Diamond’ Jack Severino a lesson in the ring...granted it hasn’t been as straightforward as one would expect...’
[Travis turns back as the match continues to unravel as DJS catches ‘The Significant Player’ as he attempts a Cross Body off the top rope, as this happens Travis stamps the floor in frustration...]
eD – ‘You’re not thinking of getting involved are you champ...?’
[Travis sighs and looks back at eD]
Travis – ‘Travis Roberts has complete faith that Declan Prescott will get the job done, let’s face the facts, this is a guy who, try as he might, cannot get a victory over Randy Boolzian no matter how many attempts he has...what kind of a test is that for someone of ‘The Significant Players’ mental capacity and talents.
Besides what is it to you?’
[Travis once again raises his eyebrow at eD, and this time looks over his glasses at him. eD looks from side to side nervously as he fidgets with his hands]
eD – ‘What?...No reason, just don’t want you getting involved in any altercations with Boss P or that Big Polish Dude...I’m just looking out for your welfare champ!’
Travis – ‘Not even you are retarded enough to think that Eastern European Steroid Guzzler could cause ‘The Blessed One’ any problems, and after ‘The Headliner’ sent that oversized duck into orbit at Horizons, it’s doubtful he’ll come anywhere near ‘The TWiSTeD Guerilla’...and what the hell is with all this ‘champ’ stuff? You’ve barely tried to lecture ‘The Headliner’ since you walked in...
What have you done?’
eD – ‘Nothing I just thought it’d be good if we caught up, I’ve been a bit busy this week...and ya know, thought we could talk...’
[Travis chuckles to himself, and sits straighter on the leather]
Travis – ‘Really? You want to talk with ‘The Headliner’, well Travis Roberts is truly honoured that the only time you found to fit ‘The Blessed One’ into you’re busy schedule this first Sentinel of 2009, was during ‘The Significant Players’ match...’
eD – ‘Sorry, I got caught up a little bit with some other business...this was the only opportunity I had to...’
[Travis dramatically throws his arms into the air]
Travis – ‘No need to apologise eDman, why do you feel the need to apologise to ‘The Highest Standard in GIW’, it’s not like you are in his employment is it. No, no, let’s just have that little chat you wanted? What should we talk about...hmmm? How about the time Randy Boolzian and Mary-Joanna fucked on ‘The Headliners’ couch?’
eD – ‘Errrrm...’
Travis – ‘No, no, you wouldn’t know much about that would you? You weren’t around much before Horizons were you? Why don’t we talk about, maybe, How ‘The Revolution’ are going to get that damn penguin out of GIW...
Speaking of...’
[Travis’ attention is drawn quickly back to the screen to see Declan Prescott execute a baseball slide into McZygmunt sending Boss Penguin flying through the air.]
Travis – ‘Nice Shot! That bird has flown more in the last two shows, than he has in his entire life! Anyway, what is it you want to talk about, got something on your mind?’
[Travis turns back to eD and crosses his arms in expectation. eD takes a deep breath and decides now is the right time to bite the bullet]
eD – ‘You are right, I do have something to say, and I hate myself for not saying it sooner. You’re not going to be happy, but you’re really not my only employer anymore...’
[Travis gets up onto his feet dramatically and starts pacing backwards and forwards, all the time keeping his eyes on his agent]
eD – ‘I really should have told you sooner, because you deserve to know, after everything we’ve been through...’
Travis – ‘Cut through the crap eD, you’re working for Boss Penguin right?’
[eD’s jaw drops to the ground, and he just stares at Travis, uncharacteristically speechless. Travis stops dead and looks straight at the Yellow Sideshow Attraction]
Travis – ‘Don’t just stand their drooling like that new guy Adolph. Did you really think ‘The Headliner’ didn’t know what you were up to? What kind of a failure do you take Travis Roberts for? ‘The Blessed One’ is not even going to expand on how ludicrous the idea that you could ever fool ‘The Highest Standard in GIW‘ is. We’ve had more than one conversation about how misguided your belief that you are somehow, even partly, responsible for the success of ‘The Most Influential Sports Personality of this Millennia’ and Travis Roberts refuses to retread old ground.
Instead let’s focus on the stupidity of thinking you could keep this from ‘The Headliner’? Come on eD, only those with a severe brain deteriorating disease would have struggled to fit together the pieces of this ‘mystery’! You get ‘kidnapped’ in London by Boss Penguin, a creature you have colluded with in the past, and no less than days after we return, somehow the cigar smoking, yardie murdering zoo attraction manages to hob knob the sponsors and Network executives, resulting in him becoming GIW’s Enforcer? And Travis Roberts knows damn well that Penguin don’t know enough about the industry to run a Wrestling Company single flippered, without someones help.
Initially, being the trusting and caring kinda guy Travis Roberts is, ‘The Blessed One’ was concerned you had been coerced against your will. And ‘The Headliner’ is pretty sure you’re about to make that very argument...’
[eD finally musters up the courage to speak again, and he looks at Travis, imploringly...]
eD – ‘You know he’s got...’stuff’ on me! He threatened to send me back to ‘The Street’ if I didn’t help him...You know what the memories of that place do to me...I can’t risk going back...you have to believe me...’
Travis – ‘As much as Travis Roberts would love to believe your denials, too many things point to you willingly working alongside this Nazi Fowl. It’s never been acceptable to just say ‘I was just following orders’, it doesn’t get you off the hook for your deeds. You allowed the booking of your employer against three other men, with only Brandon McSkinny to aid his cause!
But you know what finally brought it home eD? You know the moment Travis Roberts realised what a two faced, untrustworthy individual you had become?
When the press turned up and surrounded Cara’s hospital after she was attacked by the deluded Maguire, when besides Travis Roberts, Brandon McSkinny and Declan Prescott, no-one apart from you knew where she was. That was the moment ‘The Headliner’ realised you had crossed a line, and could not be trusted again. The moment you turned the legitimate peril of one of ‘The Blessed Ones’ closest friends, into a cheap and nasty promotional exercise for Horizons. This was the moment ‘The Headliner’ realised you were in no way an innocent pawn of Boss Penguins master plan, but that you were indeed, a co-conspirator.
If you even had an iota of brain power though, you would have realised ‘The Blessed One’ was onto you...he stopped paying you in October...’
[eD’s face sinks, he realises he has been discovered, and realises nothing he says will change the mind of his former employer and friend. He takes a deep breath and does his best to keep composed, fighting back the emotion that fills him from head to toe. The shame, the regret, the anguish, the pain, he has to overcome them, and his face, though genuinely featureless highlights this struggle flawlessly. He eventually dams the emotions and manages to respond.]
eD – ‘Look, Travis, I expected you to react like this, granted I didn’t know you knew. But I will take responsibility for my actions, hopefully one day you will find it in your heart to forgive me for my mistakes, but after what I say next I think there is very little chance of that...’
Travis – ‘Really, do enlighten ‘The Headliner’? What shocking revelations do you have in store for him?’
eD – ‘Boss P’s not the only one...I’m working for someone else too...’
[The scene fades out. When it fades in again we see eD emerging from ‘The Revolutions’ Dressing room, and he takes out a mobile phone and dials a number]
eD – ‘Yeah...It’s done, I told him...*voice breaking up* I’d rather not talk about this now...”
[eD quickly ends the call and takes a huge breath of air, and quickly makes his way down the corridor, hanging his head so that no-one see’s his face. As he heads off we see Declan Prescott and Cara Prescott emerge victoriously and make their way to the locker room. Declan holds open the door for his wife, who without looking at him walks swiftly into the room. Declan turns towards Travis and speaks, who is looking vaguely at the TV and Alex Kiseragi’s entrance...]
Declan – ‘Hey man, did eD just see you, did he finally pluck up the courage to admit to being Boss Penguins personal fluffer?’
[Travis looks towards Declan as if he didn’t notice he was there, shakes his head and responds]
Travis – ‘What?...Yeah...yeah...that’s it...’
[Travis turns back to the TV to see Randy Boolzian appear underneath the GlobaTron. Declan fixes a concerned look on Travis]
Declan – ‘Isn’t that your match dude?’
[fade to black]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Approx. One Hour after Sentinel]
[The scene reopens in familiar territory, we are once again in the Grand Hall of ‘The Headliner’. Just as when we last laid eyes on this grandiose room it is almost unnaturally tidy, possibly even more so this time. The room is lit by many assorted candelabra scattered throughout the room, and the flickers produced by the flame dance off the marble floors and pillars.
In the far corner, from the same chaise-longue as we saw last week, a plume of smoke ascends, and the view starts to move towards it. As we close in on the seating, we notice the shadow of a figure dancing in the flickering light of the candles, and it becomes obvious we are taking our view from over this person’s shoulder. As it approaches, the figure on the couch stands abruptly, and turns to face the on comer.
But we are greeted not by the expected sight of our usual smoke emitting host, instead we are greeted by the voluptuous curves, of none other than ‘The TWiSTeD Priestess’ Mary-Joanna Roberts. She stands before us with a foot long, silver cigarette holder, with a delicately rolled pre-rolled smoking from the end. She lets out a wry smile, inhales slowly, then exhales and speaks]
Mary-Joanna – ‘It’s you.
MJ was wondering how long it was until you came round here to have some self-involved rant in Mary-Joanna’s general direction. You should no right now, nothing you can say will change anything.’
[The view quickly cuts to over MJ’s shoulder, and we are faced once more by GIW’s Unified Global Champion, Travis Roberts. He has obviously come straight from his defeat to Randy Boolzian in the Triple Threat Main Event of Sentinel, his hair is still a mess, his leather jacket clings to his bare, sweat covered torso, and he less his trademark Aviator sunglasses. But despite his appearance he stills stands tall and with an air of indignation around him.]
Travis – ‘What makes you think ‘The Headliner’ wants to change anything? You want to take on that paranoid little deadweight? You are gonna willingly let him leech off of your, frankly pitiful, existence? Why would ‘The Blessed One’ want to give up his newly acquired freedom? The only reason Travis Roberts tolerated that little pain the rectum was out of some deluded sense of charity. You are welcome to him...’
[The view turns back to Mary-Joanna who stands head tilted towards Travis, she blinks her big eyes, takes another toke on her delicacy, and then chuckles]
Mary-Jo – ‘You still get that look in your eye when you go off on one of your rants. It’s something they don’t capture on TV, and it really is adorable. But as much passion as you put into that little tirade, MJ knows that deep down you are hurt, and betrayed by eD’s defection to ‘The TWiSTeD Heiress’s camp. All that time trying to get a rise out of you by fucking BoolZ like an animal, MJ was so short sighted, Mary-Joanna should have always seen the way to your emotions was through that furry little agent of yours...’
[MJ smiles and narrows her eyes, in what could be construed as a bitchy look, and we then switch our view back to the face of Travis, who stands with a smug smile on his face, a sight we have become more than used to]
Travis – ‘Travis Roberts would love to say it was refreshing to hear your simple, naive outlook on the world once more. But ‘The Headliner’ is surrounded by so much terminal simplicity everywhere he looks in GIW, it’s just beginning to become tiresome.’
Mary-Jo – ‘Ha ha, always with a quick, smart ass comeback aren’t we Travis. Mary-Joanna will indulge you in your lie, and continue as if eDison cASe meant nothing to you. Surely you of all people would want to ensure your scabbard of a wife was unable to set foot inside your hallowed halls ever again? MJ trusts that eD explained to you the cost of your stupid decision to not sign the divorce papers you were sent oh so many months ago?
Surely the fact that you are being forced, by Californian State law, to share our marital home with Mary-Joanna, summons up just a little bit of raw emotion, besides flippancy, in that battered body of yours? The fact that until our case reaches the divorce courts, and between each of the preliminary hearings, you will awaken every day to the sound of ‘The TWiSTeD Priestess’ starting her day, must cause your megalomaniacal tendencies to just eat away at your pride and integrity.
Of course, Mary-Joanna is not a monster, and respects your fragile feelings and emotions. MJ knows too well how you hide those true thoughts and emotions buried deep from the world, and she would not want to add to your crippling burdens any more than needed. That is why Mary-Joanna, in her infinite grace and sympathy, has decided that we can split the house in two until the tiral ends, MJ will obviously take this wing, the one she so tastefully decorated, and you can take the other...did you ever get round to making it habitable? No? Well then this will be the perfect opportunity....it would also substantially raise the value of the property.’
Travis – ‘What makes you think Travis Roberts needs to stay here? ‘The Headliner’ can take care of his own accommodation, and ‘The Blessed One’ has plenty of friends he can call upon in the short term. ‘The Highest Standard in GIW’ only came to pick up some clothes, and his stash.’
Mary-Jo – ‘And where are you gonna go? Hmm? You have just ostracised your most loyal friend, and from what MJ has heard, now is not the time to go looking for room at the Prescott Inn? Could Travis Roberts really live in a hotel? You know they look down on smoking in their rooms now?’
Travis – ‘’The Blessed One’ has plenty of options, ‘The TWiSTeD Guerrilla’ is never out of options’
[Mary-Joanna lets out a giggle, and motions to the TV, she picks up a remote and starts a video playing from the recordable hard drive.]
Mary-Jo – ‘What...like then?’
[The image that springs onto the screen is of Randy Boolzian planting Travis Roberts with the DiscomBoolZalator and picking up the three count earlier in the evening. Travis looks at the screen and lets out a chuckle]
Travis – ‘Pity for you he couldn’t pull that out at Horizons?’
Mary-Jo – ‘That’s something MJ and Travis Roberts can agree on. You have no idea how frustrating it was for ‘The TWiSTeD Heiress’ see that happen, why on earth wasn’t he able to do that when it mattered? If he’d have just managed that, BoolZ and Mary-Joanna could have parted on far better terms. Instead like every man in MJ’s life he was just a gigantic anti-climax.’
[Travis lets out another chuckle, and for the first time lets his hand wander into his top pocket and takes out a pre-rolled, and joins Mary-Joanna in a smoke. He then tilts his head, and smiles at Mary-joanna]
Travis – ‘There it is again, that simplistic naivety. If you’d have only asked ‘The Headliner’ if Randy Boolzian could come away victorious at Horizons, Travis Roberts would have told you what would unfold. For at Horizons, showed once again, that when it comes to the important times, when the life changing decisions need to be made, Randy Boolzian, wil always...always choose the wrong path. That’s what led to his ass getting kicked off the top of that cell, that’s why Travis Roberts stands before you as Unified Global Champion, because when it really[/b] matters ‘The Red Bull Icon’ will always make the wrong decision.’[/color]
Mary-Joanna – ‘Well how was Mary-Joanna meant to know this? It was hardly a naive decision or a simplistic plan. Who better than Randy Boolzian for Mary-Joanna to attach herself to? A young man who has yet to be pinned or made to submit, the very man who won GIW’s most gruelling match at Battlegrounds and the man that pinned your shoulders to the mat on your GIW PPV debut? Who better to help ‘The TWiSteD Heiress’ finally put you in the place you deserve? There was no-one, and judging by tonights display, he may still be your biggest challenge.’
Travis – ‘You think tonight proved anything? Does anyone really think Travis Roberts actually gave a damn about the result of tonight’s match? For TWiSTeD’s sake, management may as well have given ‘The Blessed One’ the night off for all ‘The Highest Standard in GIW’ could care about who out of GIW’s ‘Most likely To Catch an STI From’ and ‘Most Likely to Euthanize the Eldery During an Appearance’ he will be facing at Infinty, because neither man is ready.
Sure Randy will probably insist that this win, coupled with that on our first Pay-Per-View prove he is ready to dethrone ‘The Headliner’, but Travis Roberts would pose a different hypothesis. You see, the only thing the match at Toxic Intent and tonight’s Sentinel can really be said to definitively prove, is that ‘The Blessed One’ takes a little longer to shake off the ring rust in his advancing years. By next week, when Randy Boolzian steps in the circle to face Travis Roberts once more, the rust will well and truly be gone.
But next week, let’s not pretend next week will mean any more than this week. Whether I force Randy to tap out through the ‘TWiSTeD Tourniquet’ , or he plants me on the floor once more, it won’t make any difference, the only time it will matter is when the title that ‘The Blessed One’ calls his own, is on the line. And when that time comes, ‘The Headliner’ predicts, Randy boolzian will once again, fail to rise to attention, as it were...’
Mary-Jo – ‘As passionate and confident as ever, but MJ got an insight into ‘The Red Bull Icon’ in her time with her, even if we were living a lie, he couldn’t help but show Mary-Joanna some of his true side. Just trust me Travis, don’t underestimate the strength of his hatred for you, it burns within him, and he is unlikely to rest until he has taken whatever measure of revenge on you he feels fit. He truly is a disturbed young man.’
Travis – ‘And it is that hatred that will cause him to fall at the final hurdle once more, it will force young Boolzian into making rash decisions, stupid, unfathomable decisions...you stand before ‘The Headliner’ as a case in point, you are the perfect example of the kind of retarded thinking that illogical rage will cause.
But ‘The Blessed One’ will say this, call Randy Boolzian a disturbed young man if you will, but for the first time since ‘The Headliner’ made BoolZ’s acquaintance, Travis Roberts finds himself envying Randy somewhat. You see, that Infection spreading junkie may have a life that Travis Roberts looks upon in disgust, but at least he has cut you out from his life.’
[MJ sarcastically smiles at Travis then licks her lips before she responds]
Mary-Joanna – ‘You say the sweetest things. But Randy hasn’t seen the last of me...’
Travis – ‘Well...for tonight at least, ‘The Headliner’ has, and shall take his leave. Don’t worry about seeing Travis Roberts out...’
[With that Travis brushes past Mary-Joana before she has a chance to respond, and the scene fades out]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monday 12th January, 01:00am
[The scene opens and we see ‘The TwiSTeD Guerilla’ standing outside door, he knocks, and after a while a few chains drag back and an eye is seen peering through. After a moment the doors shuts once more, and we hear the chains being removed, then the door swings open, and standing before Travis is Marek Daisuke, one half of GIW Tag team Champions ‘War and Peace’]
Travis – ‘Mark...isn’t it?’
Marek – ‘Mah..REH...KEH!’
[Travis continues as if Marek had said nothing]
Travis – ‘Yeah...’the Blessed One’ just thought he’d saunter over, and go through some tactics with Zekey boy before our upcoming match next Sentinel’
[Marek, peers out of the door, and looks left and right continually, rarely looking at Travis]
Marek – ‘Zeke...Out’
Travis – ‘Where...HE...GO!?!?’
[Mark stops looking around, and stares Travis in the eyes]
Marek – ‘He looking for Xavier and Jane, and Marek not retarded, no need to shout’
Travis – ‘Oh yeah, all that shit with Mikey Dragon right? He kidnapped Xavier huh? Even ‘The TWiSteD Guerrilla’ has to admit some of this shit Travis Roberts saw on those recording released on the net were just horrible to look at? Isn’t Jane your sister, why the hell aren’t you out looking?
Marek – ‘Watching House’
Travis – ‘’The Headliner’ would concur that Hugh Laurie is indeed unmissable, but surely your sister takes precedence?’
[Marek’s eyes narrow and he stands up a little straighter to Travis, obviously not finding being mocked by the Unified Global Champion all that funny]
Travis – ‘Man you are a drag when Zeke ain’t around. ‘The Blessed One’ was only trying to lighten the mood, given the circumstances don’t you think a little comedy should be injected into proceedings?’
[Marek’s deadpan stare gives Travis his answer]
Travis – ‘Anyway, ‘The Blessed One’ was hoping to maybe smoke a few and talk tactics into the morning with your buddy, but seeing as he has more pressing matters to attend to, could you possibly pass him on a message’
[Marek nods, whilst also taking the time to recheck the hall Travis stands within]
Travis – ‘Just let Zeke know not to let the honour of teaming with the Unified Global Champion cloud his judgement, Travis Roberts can only imagine how exciting this day is for him, it’s not often he gets to tag with someone legally allowed in the country, let alone someone of ‘The Blessed One’s pedigree. Randy Boolzian will probably be too fixed on ‘The Highest Standard in GIW’ to really give Zeke a look in, but just in case, Zeke might wanna keep on his A-Game cause Boolzian can be a sneaky bastard at times.
As for Mikey Dragon, if he actually makes it to the ring this week, he may finally get a taste for what GIW is all about. You see, ‘The Head Trip’ has never really stuck around long enough to find out that GIW is just as surreal a place as he imagines the inside of his mind to be. People who release footage of their kidnap victims, whilst they still have them hostage, are generally seeking some kind of attention, and ‘The Headliner’ is more than certain Mikey will get all that he craves from some of the more mentally deficient of society, but those with even half a logical impulse can see through his theatrics and his side show scares.
You see, no respect to your former Mentor, but only a fool would get themselves caught by Mikey Dragon. If someone with the instability of Mikey ever enters your life, you make steps to ensure you are able to rid yourselves of their nuisance. There is a reason the rich and famous never get kidnapped by the loons that stalk and idolise, it’s because they pay enough to ensure it never happens. Mikey seems to be all about introducing us to the real world, well that is the actuality of the world Mikey Dragon despises so much. There are too many checks to the mentally unstable like he, with his deluded belief that what he has to preach is anyway groundbreaking or original. When Dr Timothy Leary went on his first voyage of discovery, or trip, he would have been dismayed to discover the terminology he helped create, a ‘head Trip’ Mickey is not. Merely the mouthpiece for the many masses who need an excuse for their own pathetic and miserable lives.
Anyway, if he truly wanted to torture Xavier, and reallywanted to cause him irreparable damage, he would have skipped The Ahmed Johnson Clips, and The Bossman travesties, and just stuck a highlight reel of Alex Kiseragi’s GIW Promo’s, ensuring his gripping Title Winning speech was on there, on a constant loop. That is how to torture somebody.’
Marek – ‘Mickey Dragon...Raenius...they are Dangerous.’
Travis – ‘Maybe to those that choose to indulge them in their emo fantasies, but to regular, free thinking individuals such as ‘The Headliner’ they’re no more threatening than a wrist slitting teenager at a metal concert. You see, Raenius and Mikey speak as if they know so much of GIW, but yet they continue to live inwardly, in a world that no longer exists or bears relevance to our reality. But unhindered they continue to act as if it is the rest of us that see things in the wrong light, as if we are the ones missing a piece of the puzzle. Whilst they continue to finish a feud that no doubt ran its course in another time, they suggest we are wandering blindly through the world. At Sentinel, with the help of your boy Zeke, Travis Roberts will welcome Mikey Dragon to the world of GIW personally.
You get all that?’
[Marek stops looking round the corridor and looks at Travis blankly]
Marek – ‘Huh?’
Travis – ‘Great...well ‘the Headliner’ has better things to do than stand around having a one sided conversation , just give Zeke the message’
[With that Travis turns and the scene once again fades out]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Monday 12th January, 01:30am]
[The scene once again opens, and Travis is in the front seat of his car, parked in front of War and peace’s high rise, speaking on the phone]
Travis – ‘Hey Craig, It’s Travis Roberts, could you call ‘The Blessed One’ when you get this message, ‘The TWiSTeD high Commander’ needs a favour, the mansion is being renovated and ‘The Headliner’ needs a place to crash whilst the workman do their thing. Get back to me’
[Travis sighs and hangs up the phone, he then turns his Sat-Nav on and as it’s display lights up his finger hovers over the symbol for ‘Home’, and then the scene draws to a close for one final time]
[The scene opens outside the locker room allocated for The Unified Global Champion, on the Plaque outside it reads; ’The Revolution’.

You’re not going to be happy, but you’re really not my only employer anymore...’

eD – ‘I really should have told you sooner, because you deserve to know, after everything we’ve been through...’
