Chapter 1:
Departure
Departure
It was a Friday when the gods woke up. The earth rumbled, the oceans awoke with terrible wrath in their hearts, and the people of Japan started paying for this sudden chaos that was in no way their fault or responsibility.
It was a Friday when three Japanese wrestlers(And a half-mad Luchador) watched with rapt attention, and it was a Saturday as Komosube(nicknamed the Japanese Powerhouse and former GiW Global Champion) wordlessly and hurriedly packed. Garbed in simple, basic black attire, he stood beside Aragato(Nicknamed Mr. Deathmatch and formerly a GiW Tag Champion), the smaller, red-haired man wearing his hakamas, face painted like always, eyes wide and gray, and grimacing with painted black teeth. Komosube, however, somewhat resembled a bulldog, albeit with small eyes which bore a combination of hostility and boredom.
As they stood in the airport, a small Japanese girl, Chinatsu Chen(Nicknamed the Oriental Firecracker-although she hated that nickname-, formerly the other GiW Tag Champion) stood wearing simple yet stylish clothing, and hugging a masked man wearing jeans and an 'Ed CaSe' shirt. The tall man in the skeletal mask eventually let go of the embrace, speaking. He was ignoring the airport security constantly circling and mad-dogging him.
"Hey, did you bring your galoshes I knitted? It might be cold, so it's important to protect your ears over there."
Chinatsu gave a soft chuckle, but her thoughts kept drifting, to her home, wanting to make sure her family was alright...and god, all those people. She didn't even notice the bags under her eyes when she looked in the mirror recently, being focused entirely on the disaster that was still unfolding, in her homeland. She didn't notice, but her mentor spoke again, this time his voice gentler, and his red eyes(those had to be contacts) softening just a little.
"Hey. It's gonna be alright, alright? You guys are gonna do great things over there...but you keep in touch, alright? E-mail, phone, message in a yak, whatever. Don't make me worry about you guys."
-----------------
She was focused on me now, nodding solemnly. She gave a naturally pink-lipped smile, it's effect being akin to a gentle beam of sunlight, soft like the wings of a butterfly, yet bright enough to melt even wicked Ymir. As she spoke, her whole persona seemed to harden and steel itself. She seemed to do that more since under my tutelage, and I wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not, yet.
"I will, Ghost...thank you...thank you for everything."
I noticed lone tears making their way down her cheeks, a powerful mixture of woe and gladness. I understood...well, perhaps not on this scale, the misery of not knowing what was going on with your family, and a million other things that were no doubt going through her pretty little head that I wouldn't even try to gauge. A soft feminine voice called out through the PA system.
"All boarding flight fifteen, y'all. All boarding flight fifteen."
I clenched my fists, frustrated at the author being too lazy to look up actual flights to Japan that happened on this day, but there was nothing to do about it right now, not while he was still writing. Chinatsu leaned up on her tippy toes, giving me a soft kiss on my cheek, before she walked over to the two looking over at me. Well, Komosube was. Aragato even now, was sort of looking through me. But I didn't mind, only giving a soft wave to the both of them. Komosube tilted his head ever so slightly; a bow of respect toward me. The rare show of respect reminded me again of the seriousness of this situation, and with that, they left, boarded the plane, and I watched it take off, fading into the soft blue sky.
"Well, that was touching. What now?"
