The term 'Legend' is flouted about far too much these days, Randy Savage though was indeed a true Legend of the industry. He epitomised the 'Larger Than Life' style of what was then known as the WWF in the 80's-early Nineties, more so even than Hogan or the Warrior. Macho Man had the look, the mic skills, the charisma and the in ring ability that made him pretty much the perfect package in terms of what a 'modern' wrestler should be.
And has any other professional been able to generate the heat he did as both a Heel AND a Face? Whatever he was asked to play he ensured the fans bought into it 100%, they'd genuinely love him or hate him, depending on what he wanted from them.
Randy Savage was one of the people who 'got' the sport, and when you look around the industry now, at the WWE, at TNA, at Ring of Honor, it really strikes you what a truly unique and amazing individual he was to this industry. The industry has missed him for nearly a decade as no-one filled his boots.
Rest In Peace Macho Man.
