if the changes to the gameplay are as good as I've heard I'm certainly intrigued by it, but without actually playing it I don't know if it's the usual hyperbole, I'll prob buy it and if it sucks trade it straight back in.
Hanson: "May Roberts' soul go to a better place, free of chunky Asians, who do flips."
If its a step back to HCTP it'll be good but most likely even with all the new features that they tout every year it'll be fun for a day then boring after that.

Its kind of funny, the Brock Lesnar era was about the only time period of WWE that I didn't even sort of keep up on, other times I would at least rent the Smackdown game for that year and see who was on the roster or read the recaps online, but Lesnar's short run was entirely during the time I wasn't watching or following at all
I wished he'd stayed in WWE, not because I'm a fan (which I am/was) but so that he didnt stink up the MMA world with his turtle mimicking, running away and generally being terrified of punches. Now all the young MMA fans that watch because of the most roided up hype train in the world think that muscles make the fighter.

Can't believe you guys aren't excited about the penis tattoo.
No offense JK, but I'm actually glad they're not making the games for PS2 anymore. Hoping this leads to them actually taking advantage of current technology and introducing 8 man matches sometime in the not-too-distant future. But for this year, the penis tattoo will satisfy me.

So just found out this game is going to be shit (shocking, I know). You've got the new gameplay (which plays suspiciously like the old gameplay, judging from the vids THQ have posted) and a gimmick in Create-An-Arena. Everything else is either the same as last year or even more limited. And I have to preorder if I want The Rock, otherwise wait 3 months to get him.
Fuck the penis tattoo.

I think it's going to be kickass. I watched a few videos from IGN.com and they even say that they went back to the old gameplay because of complaints. Oh well. Also, they mentioned that they limited the number of Road To Wrestlemania's but extended how long they are. Instead of 3 months, it's now 18 months. That's awesome in my opinion. Here are a couple videos that sold me on it. BUT.. I've bought every Smackdown game since the beginning so it wouldn't be a surprise to anyone that I will buy this one.

So they have new camera angles and the ropes bounce? Yep, that warrants a whole new game. I mean, we were able to break up any move on the fucking Gamecube games and the fact THQ would boast this as some sort of futuristic feature tells me pretty much all I need to know about how much “bigger” and “better” things are going to be this year. If you can explain to me how this gameplay is a huge improvement on last year, feel free:
As for RTWM... it simply means now instead of having to play as a crappy guy like Cena or HHH for 3 months worth of generic storylines, we’ll have to do it for 6. Being able to play as less guys than year's past does not equal revolutionary to me.
I’ll probably buy it when it’s cheap enough. But right now I really don’t see any reason to upgrade from SVR11.
