Back In Black starts to play.
Vinegar: Huh? I haven't heard this hear before.
Chris Peterson walks out onto the ramp accompanied by Donovan Hastings and Calypso Desmona. Calypso and Chris wear their Cooperative title belts around their waists.
Vinegar: Oh, new theme huh?
Jay: I like it.
The three of them make their way down to the ring and climb up the steps. Chris holds the ropes open for Donovan to climb through and follows him through, followed by Calypso. Someone passes Chris a mic from the outside and the music fades out.
Lieberjosch: Looks like the new champs have something on their mind.
Peterson: So, I'm sure you've all been asking yourselves the same question for two weeks now. Why did he do it? Why would Chris Peterson turn on the Dragon? Why would he willingly throw in his lot with Lord Donovan Hastings.
Chris gestures to Donovan respectfully.
Peterson: Why would he side with the man who's turned his Grandfather into an endentured servant? Here's my answer...why wouldn't I? I'll explain.
Vinegar: I hope so.
Peterson: When I joined this company I was made to train at the Dragon's Cave Academy. I had no choice in the matter. Then sure, Alex Kiseragi seemed like a great guy. He told me he'd train me and help me help my Grandfather. But did he? No, he spent his time worrying about himself. He never did a thing for me but tell me one word, no. No Chris you can't do that. No Chris you're not ready. No this, no that. No, no, no.
So I tried to do it my own way and The Lord of Pain showed me his superior skill first hand and I became his student and I learned so many things, and not just in the ring. I learned that I don't have to be some characterless face in the crowd. I could be someone. Even more important than that I learned that my Grandfather was happy. I was fighting to help someone who liked where he was. He liked being needed.
Then the final straw. I learned that the Lord was not just skilled and intelligent, but generous too. The Dragon has been the richest member of the roster almost this entire year but did he ever use any of it to help me? No. But the Lord, in his selflessness, granted me the chance to become a Champion, and become one I did.
Chris gestures to his belt.
Peterson: Don't be fooled by what he wants you to believe. Alex Kiseragi is a selfish scumbag who never-
“Teahouse” The fans cheer.
Jay: DRAGOOOOON!
Vinegar: This is going to get interesting.
Alex Kiseragi walks out onto the ramp carrying a microphone.
Kiseragi: Ok, I think you've been talking long enough. Let me get this straight, after everything I did for all. All the support I gave you. You smacked me between the eyes and sided with a man who put me on the shelf for six months because he bought you a title shot?
In the ring Chris shrugs and nods.
Kiseragi: You know what that makes you Chris? A god damned whore.
Jay: Oh snap.
Kiseragi: It's true, I could have bought you a title shot. Any title you wanted. Do you wanna know why I didn't? Because you have to learn that in this business, you can't rely on handouts. You have to earn everything you get with blood, sweat and tears. I guess you didn't figure that out. You just ran away to take the easy road. I'm ashamed of you.
Chris mocks being upset in the ring and Donovan and Calypso laugh.
Kiseragi: That doesn't change the fact though that you betrayed me on a personal level. You betrayed my trust and the trust of my friends and I'm honour bound to take some level of revenge for that. That's why you're going to face me Chris, next week, in a Cage match.
Vinegar: A Cage match?
Peterson: I accept.
Vinegar: Next week Alex Kiseragi and Chris Peterson in a Cage match!
Teahouse plays and Alex walks off the stage.
