Roxy Malone is standing by in a hallway backstage.
Malone: I'm here with the #1 Contender to the Women's Championship, Calypso Desmona.
The camera pans slightly to show Calypso standing next to Roxy.
Malone: Calypso, in about a week and a half, at Distant Whispers, you'll be facing the Women's Champion, Gabrielle, in a First Blood Match for the championship. This has the potential to be the most brutal match of your career. What do you think about it?
Calypso: I think it's the biggest mistake Gabrielle has ever made. She may have won the match we had last week on Sentinel, but all it did was allow her to pick her own poison. I'm not riding coattails when I call myself the Mistress of Pain. It's a name that I've earned, time and again. At Distant Whispers, Gabrielle is going to learn exactly why. She thought being beaten with a chair was bad? That's nothing compared to what I have in store for her in a First Blood Match. I do have a disappointment, though.
Malone: And what might that be?
Calypso: That it's only a first blood match. It suggests I have to stop. Trust me, Roxy, when I say that there is a lot of pent up anger and frustration that is ready to explode from me, and I would hate to be the person that has to pull me away from her once she is already bleeding.
Malone: This week on Sentinel, you have a mixed 6-person tag match, in which you'll be teaming with Donovan as well as Travis Roberts, against Gabrielle, Diamond Jack, and the Crimson Ghost. Do you have any concerns going into this match?
Calypso: Well...
Calypso puts her head down for a moment.
Calypso: To be perfectly honest with you-
Voice: COMING THROUGH!
A hand grabs the camera lens, and the camera jerks to the side and it appears that someone is pulling the cameraman down the hallway. It stops, showing Donovan standing patiently. Jason Reeves walks up and stands next to him. The lens appears smudged.
Reeves: Jason Reeves here, with the Lord Donovan Hastings. Thanks for your time, my lord.
Hastings: Of course.
Reeves: On Sentinel, we saw your crusade against injustice suffer a terrible derailment when the Crimson Ghost attacked you. What do you have to say to him?
Hastings: He crossed a line. Everyone knows what I was going on Sentinel. The evil crusade of Owen Peterson must be stopped. Now, just because I am the Lord of Pain, that doesn't mean I am a violent person. I'm a nice guy.
Reeves: I can't believe anyone would think otherwise.
Hastings: Thank you. See, I was looking for a peaceful solution to all of this. That's why I had my sit-down strike, in the middle of the ring. I just want to see justice delivered. However, it's clear to me now that isn't going to happen. This Crimson Ghost, it's clear to me that he is himself a vehicle of injustice, and that is something that must be dealt with. I did make a pledge that I would refuse to participate in a match until reparations had been made for what had been done to me, but I will make an exception to deal with this fool.
Reeves: So you intend to face the Crimson Ghost at Distant Whispers?
Hastings: That is my intention, yes. However, with all this talk as of late of gimmick matches, we're going to add one more to the stack. I am going to face the Crimson Ghost in a "Peterson Sucks" Match.
Reeves: A what?
Hastings: You heard me. Now, the rules for this match are simple. Owen Peterson is not the assigned referee. This is exclusively the type of match I will be competing in going forward. "Peterson Sucks" Matches. And since all of my matches will be gimmick matches using this new gimmick, and since I will of course inevitably be winning them all, you can consider this my campaign towards the Hardcore Championship. It begins on Sentinel. This Mixed 6-Person tag match? It's a "Peterson Sucks" Match.
Reeves: Speaking of that mixed tag, you'll be teaming with Calypso-
Hastings: You will refer to her by her proper title of the Mistress of Pain, or if you prefer, Mistress Desmona.
Reeves: Okay. You'll be teaming with Mistress Desmona and Travis Roberts, against Gabrielle, Diamond Jack, and the Crimson Ghost.
Hastings: And our focus, of course, will be on the Crimson Ghost. His evil actions must be dealt with in a manner that can only be described as swift and terrible, and I trust in Travis Roberts to help me deliver that. Gabrielle and Severino, they are nothing more than an afterthought, insignificant.
Calypso: Excuse me?
Calypso is standing behind Donovan, her arms crossed. Both Donovan and Reeves look at her.
Calypso: What were you just saying?
Reeves: Hey! This is an exclusive interview!
Calypso stares daggers at him. He takes a step back.
Calypso: You know kind of match I have at Distant Whispers.
Reeves: First Blood.
Calypso: Want to practice?
His eyes widen, and he slinks away. Donovan watches him, and then turns to face Calypso.
Hastings: Did you have to go and do that? The Lord was talking to one of the little people.
Calypso: He's part of the staff, I'm sure you'll see him again.
Hastings: Wait, he works here? I thought he was the pizza guy.
Calypso: Then why were you talking to him? Nevermind, you talk to walls. Tell me again what you said about Gabrielle and Jack.
Hastings: They're insignificant. I thought that was obvious.
Calypso: Obvious? I'm facing Gabrielle for the Women's Title in a week. Is that insignificant?
Hastings: Of course not. That's you answering destiny's call. The two of them together, that's what is insignificant. Have you seen them? They bicker and fight. They're not on the same page at all. Not like us. It's a shame though that you lost that match last week. You could have made your match with her at Distant Whispers a "Peterson Sucks" Match. That would've been cool. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go find the actual pizza guy.
Donovan walks up. Calypso watches him go, and Roxy Malone walks back into the picture.
Malone: Sorry about that before. Calypso, I have to ask...are you and Donovan on the same page?
Calypso: The better question would be are we in the same book.
Calypso turns and walks away, in the opposite direction that Donovan went.
Malone: I'm here with the #1 Contender to the Women's Championship, Calypso Desmona.
