Anyone watch Takeover: R Evolution?
I honestly think NXT has put on the four best PPV's of the past 12 months.
I know a few people have been annoyed with the way WWE's Main Roster is being handled, but the NXT Product is worth the price of the Network on it's own.

The opener was a solid debut which made me an instant Kevin Owens fan, and the main event was hands-down the match of the year for just about every reason imaginable. I thought the rest wasn't anything special.

What I appreciate about it is that every segment has a purpose. You might not like individual talents, but everything feels relevant to building a story or feud in some way.

Loved the event. I'm convinced Sin Cara botched all of his moves so he could get sent down to NXT lol.
Main event was probably one of the best matches I've seen in a long time. Neville and Zayn are pure talent and I would say it'd be great to see them on the main roster. But the main roster sucks these days with the way creative is. And Kevin Owens. FUCK. YES. I'm a huge mark for NXT right now. It's so much better and reliable for my wrestling entertainment needs, than actual Raw and Smackdown.
This PG era shit is lame and is damaging to the company. Bring it back to tv-14, and I promise ratings will go back up and things will get better. Let them shoot on the mic some more. And stop trying to give the title to John Cena. Let Seth cash in and stop letting part timers get the big payoffs. Hell, even if they are a part timer, they should at least appear on 2 Raws and defend the title every month.

See. I may get a bit of flack for this but I no longer take issue with the 'PG Era', I really don't think that's the problem.
I started thinking this way a few years back, when I visited Steve and his wife Karen and their daughter Julia. RAW was the one thing all three would sit down and watch, and Julia really enjoyed it. It made me sad when Steve pointed out they don't let her watch certain PPV's, even in the PG Era, because of levels of violence. And you know what, I think that's a fair attitude to take, and makes perfect sense.
If they did abandon the PG sensibilities it would take the entire product away from families such as Steve's, meaning not just children but parents end up walking away from the show. And it's not like more risque stuff isn't available, plenty of independent shows fulfil the needs of those that lament the end of the 'Attitude Era', not enough people go out of their way to support them. it's not like in this age of high speed internet it would be hard to find that.
It is however pretty difficult to find a wrestling show suitable for families outside of WWE. I get the feeling there are independents, like the one Bryan works with, that focus on families, but most seem to aim to get the smart marks to their shows (I may be wrong, I have done Zero research on this)
You pointed out the main problem, and that's the Creative in the WWE, it's not the PG Era that shackles them, it's the fact Vince is becoming increasingly out of touch with reality. NXT is more PG era than Attitude Era (Some fans excluded) and they're doing just fine, but that's because it seems HHH is nailing it in regards to how to book that kind of show.
And Creative in WWE is out of control anyway, they've moved to having entire crews of script writers. Back in the attitude era it was mainly the wrestlers themselves who scripted their spiels, DX, The Rock, Stone Cold, Edge and Christian, kurt Angle etc etc, those guys were trusted without a word for word script. Yet it seems very few in WWE are trusted to that extent any more. Christ, I've seen scripts where HHH and Chris Jericho, two of the most experienced guys in the business and two of the best on the mic, have their entire exchange mapped out. The only potentially logical reason I can see for it is the move to a 3 Hour RAW and wanting it to be more of an entertainment how, hence asking guys to fill 20 minutes with verbal jousting. 20 minutes is a LONG time for anyone to be entertaining, especially just stood in a ring with a microphone.
I just miss when it was a wrestling show, with spontaneous and brief promo's, and there was enough actual talent to fill the time allotted.

Another killer for it in my opinion is the mid match commercial breaks. And the constant replays. At tlc, once a match finished, you saw the reply 6 times before the next match took place. Stop shoving it in my face. I just fucking saw it.
I understand your side of the pg era dilemma. I enjoyed the Monday night wars and the attitude era. I just think the pg part of it puts constraints on what can be said and done.
And also naming PPVs after matches is dumb. Armageddon, unforgiven, fully loaded, all great events. Now replaced with names of matches. Tlc matches and hell in a cell matches were great because there wasn't one of them every other match on the card. My favorite three will always be, cactus jack and hhh at no way out 2000, the Armageddon 6 man hell in a cell, and Brock bs undertaker.
The money in the bank match was a great idea but they ruined it for me by taking it away from wrestle mania and giving it it's own pay per view.
I have my gripes. Creative needs to step back and regroup. Vince needs to let Paul run things. He does a great job. And John cena should step back from the world title for a while. Let someone else run with it. And not Brock.
