Lord Hastings sits in a chair in his study, reclined and lost in thought. Behind him, Calypso Desmona is looking at a book and running her finger along the words as she jots some notes down on a piece of paper.
Hastings: So it is official now. Our destiny calls us to a Fatal Four Way.
Calypso: Yes.
Hastings: We wouldn't have it any other way.
Calypso: No, we wouldn't.
Hastings: Soon, we will have secured a moment of immortality, taken the next step towards history, as-
Calypso: The first GIW Women's Champion!
Hastings: What?
Hastings turns his head to his shoulder, but does not completely look back at her.
Hastings: What are you talking about?
Calypso: I'm one of the four in the Women's Championship Battle Royal at No Holds Barred. What were you talking about?
Hastings: The...wait, you're going to have a match now?
Calypso: Of course! I told you when we came here, I got us both contracts, full contracts. I want gold just as much as you do. Don't worry, you can escort me to the ring when I am the Women's Champion.
Hastings' eyes bug out for a moment, and he sits staring straight ahead again.
Hastings: (under his breath) Don't hold your breath.
Calypso: I'm a full competitor, and let me remind you, I do it all. Perhaps you and I can tag later tonight.
She moans softly and gazes towards him.
Hastings: Okay, for starters the shows are on Saturdays and we already have matches scheduled anyway.
Calypso rolls her eyes and goes back to the book.
Hastings: Indeed...a tag team match. I must admit, I was thinking this myself after the last Sentinel. Rock Hard is nothing but a sore loser. He lost to a better and smarter man, and he should be man enough to accept that and move forward with his life. Instead, he thrusts himself directly back into my business. I have better things to do with my time, more rungs to climb up this ladder. Yet now I must tarry longer with Rock Hard and Levi Witham, and then there is the wild card, Mitch Betts.
Calypso: That reminds me, I need to thank him properly.
Hastings: What?
He sits upright in his chair.
Calypso: He came to my aid on Sentinel, after all.
Hastings quickly stands and looks at her sharply.
Calypso: What?
Hastings: I know how you like to thank people.
She gives him an annoyed look.
Calypso: That's only for you. I meant I'll send him a fruit basket or something. I hear they make lovely gifts.
Hastings relaxes and sits back down. After a few moments he looks back over his shoulder at her.
Hastings: So you're not going to accompany me at No Holds Barred?
Calypso: I'm preparing a charm for you that you can wear in my stead.
Hastings rolls his eyes.
Hastings: Wonderful.
Hastings runs his fingers through his hair and reclines. He sighs briefly before speaking again.
Hastings: And this week I team with this Mitch Betts against Hard and Witham. This should be interesting. What is it they say? The enemy of my enemy is my friend? Ah, but they also say that you should keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Hard. Witham. Betts. They all have lessons to learn, lesson that can only be learned from the Lord of Pain. At No Holds Barrred, they will. It is simply...inevitability.
The scene fades out, as Hastings closes his eyes and Calypso continues to jot her notes.
