Travis Pierce stands at the podium, looking out at the crowd.
Pierce: I'm not the person who is supposed to be here. I'll tell you that right now. My name is Travis Pierce, and I am a UGWC Entertainment Professional, about to induct Jesse Williams, a man that represents, that embodied the Outsider Wrestling Federation, into our Hall of Fame. Now, I never had any love for OWF. Bastards threw me off a platform into a bucket of blood. That was gross. You know what that makes me? It makes me the wrong person to talk about how great a OWF superstar was.
Pierce: But I am the person who two years ago was the Creative Director of the UGWC Consortium and introduced a concept known as the WrestleStock Open Tournament. WrestleStock is a festival that was designed and is intended to be a celebration of this industry, but it was missing something, it needed a meaningful competition that brought all corners of this industry together, and that's what the WrestleStock Cup was going to be. We had names from the WWA, from the EPW, free agents, Entertainment Professionals from UGWC, and we had Jesse Williams.
Pierce: Jesse Williams was a four-time winner of the Quest for the Best Tournament. He was a seven-time World Champion, in fact, I don't know if they called it this or not, but he was a Grand Slam Champion. World. Network. PDA. Tag Team. He did it all. None of that is why we are honoring him here today.
Pierce: We honor Jesse Williams because he was the first winner of the WrestleStock Cup, the trophy that is designed to be the embodiment of this industry and the people that make it happen.
Pierce: Jesse Williams could have won the WrestleStock Cup, and he could have gone back to OWF and that could have been the end of it. He didn't. He stayed and he forged another legacy for himself here. He won the Cross-Hemisphere Title. He battled with the likes of Donovan Hastings and Jet Somers and Killian King. Because of that run, relationships would be formed that still have an impact today. UGWC Entertainment Professionals completed in OWF. OWF entered an entire team into the Outlast tournament. People like Lucy Wylde and JC had a place to go when OWF shut its doors. Lucy Wylde is the Cross-Hemisphere Champion today because Jesse Williams won the WrestleStock Cup in 2015. In just a little bit, Magdalena Lockheart, Sarah Lacklan, and Trent Steel are going to try to live up to that legacy.
Pierce: Jesse Williams opened doors, and now UGWC opens the doors of its Hall of Fame to him. Now, he has not been seen since his defeat at the hands of JC at newyear//zero, and he is not here today, but please join me in honoring Jesse Williams, UGWC Hall of Famer.
Travis leads the crowd in a round of applause.
