We are excited to announce the some changes to the way our various championship divisions are handled, this is being done to differentiate the titles and the experience of competing for each title going forward. For the sake of completion, here is a complete overview of our four featured championships.
World Heavyweight Championship - The premiere championship in UGWC. Pretty much everything is fair game when it comes to this title in terms of what you can expect as a roleplayer. This title is typically defended every Pay-Per-View, although it is not always the main event.
How do I get a title shot? - In a typical UGWC year, there are ample opportunities for anybody to potentially earn a World Title opportunity. These include but are not limited to:
- Winning the Global Challenge - This tournament, held at Infinity in February, typically (but not always) awards the winner a World Title match at a future event. In 2019, the winner will be one of two challengers to the World Title at Lord of Trios in March.
- Winning the Massive Melee - This over the top rope battle royal, held at its namesake event in June, awards the winner a World Title match at the WrestleStock festival in July.
- Winning the Outlast Tournament - This tournament, held on one night in September, encompasses the entire roster and the winner becomes the World Champion. The defending champion has an automatic bye to the main event.
- Winning Battleground - This match, held at its namesake event in October, gives the winner the right to pick any match of their choosing for themselves at Horizons in December, including facing the World Champion in the main event.
- Cashing in purse winnings - May be done at any time subject to approval from the creative team, should be requested via PM prior to the cycle beginning. This is how title shot cash-ins should be handled in general.
- Winning a #1 contender match - These will occur as needed.
Cross-Hemisphere Championship - This is a prestigious and historic championship with a lineage that precedes UGWC itself. As of 2019, all title matches and contendership matches in this division will feature a roleplay word limit of 3,000 words. Additional roleplay stipulations are possible.
Chaos Championship - Matches in this division cannot end by disqualification or count-out and the use of weapons is permitted. As of 2019, all title matches and contendership matches in this division will be guaranteed to involve a roleplay stipulation of some kind.
Cooperative Championship - A championship for tag team wrestling, referred to in UGWC as "cooperative" wrestling. As of 2019, all title matches and contendership matches in this division will only be allowed to post one roleplay per team, with the understanding that both members of the team have contributed to the post. Cooperative teams are not required to be made up of characters from two separate handlers.
