Camera’s enter the packed out GiW arena. They pan around an excited cheering crowd, then fix on the ramp as pyros start to go off one after another.
Vinegar: Hello sports fans and welcome to another week of GiW action. This is Sentinel! We’re one week on from EI8HT where on top of a whole night of great match-ups we saw the first three entrants to the Battleground match and a new Women’s champion…
Hanson: Don’t forget a new number 1 contender for the Global Heavyweight title in the form of The Blessed One Travis Roberts.
Vinegar: How could I possibly forget that partner? Another great screw job from the Revolution.
Hanson: How was it a screw job? If anything Declan Prescott helped Lord Deathman when he hit The Headliner with that chair.
Vinegar: That was fa…oh I’m not even going to bother trying to explain. We’ve got a great line up for you again tonight as we see who is going to meet Jack Severino, Chris Austin, Alex Kiseragi and the Hardcore Champion Randy Boolzian at Battleground as Brandon Brown goes up against Aaron Kizz and Levi Witham in a triple threat match and Lord Deathman goes head to head with Andy Savana.
Hanson: Plus, you saw him make his first appearance at EI8HT, tonight GiW newcomer Mickey Dragon goes up against not one, not two, not even three, but four other superstars in a five way hardcore match-up.
Vinegar: And of course our main event sees number one contender Travis Roberts team up with Jack Severino and Donovan Hastings to do battle with Alex Kiseragi, Randy Boolzian and Global Heavyweight champion, Komosube. How about that Daniel?
Hanson: I can’t wait to see Travis Roberts show that fat idiot what he’s going to do to him when he gets his title shot.
Vinegar: Maybe not the words I’d use but I guarantee it’s going to be a slobber knocker. We start off tonight’s show though with mixed tag team action.
Backyard Babies hit’s the speakers and the lights go out being replaced by purple and green spotlighting. The lights settle on a hooded figure at the top of the ramp and follow him down towards the ring.
Dennis: Ladies and Gentlemen this is your opening contest and is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, making his GiW debut, from Chester, England, weighing in at 245lbs. EXODUUUUUUSSSSS!!!
The man climbs in the ring and up the turnbuckle. Stood there he removes his hood then jumps off again.
Vinegar: What do you think of this guy?
Hanson: He’s English, how good can he be? He’ll probably leave in the middle of the match for his tea and crumpets.
Vinegar: I’m not sure you can apply that stereotype to every Englishman you see.
Hanson: We’ll see…
Dennis: Introducing the partner….
Super Rad starts to play.
Dennis: From the Hjjyk, weighing in at 223lbs. CAPTAAAAIN SAAAAAVIOURRRRRR!!!
The spotlight settles on the top of the Globaltron and we see Captain Saviour fly down to the ring on his wires.
Hanson: If Captain Saviour is a superhero who can fly, then why does he always use wires to come down to the ring?
Vinegar: I don’t think we’re supposed to ask.
Warriors Code takes over the speakers.
Dennis: And their partner, accompanied to the ring by the Crimson Ghost, from Kyoto Japan. CHINATSUUUUUUUUUUUU CHEEEEEEEEEN!!!
Chinatsu Chen makes her way down the ramp, the Crimson Ghost just a few steps behind. She climbs in the ring as he finds a good spot at ringside. She bows to each of her partners as they’re shaking hands.
Frayed Ends of Sanity starts to play.
Dennis: And the opponents. Introducing first, from Detroit Michigan, weighing in at 240lbs, the Harbinger of Hardcore, DYLAAAAAN JAAAAAMES!!!
Dylan James makes his way down the ramp, rolling his shoulders and climbs into the ring. He fixes his opponents with a stare before climbing up the turnbuckle, making an X symbol to the crowd with his arms.
Feint by Linkin Park plays over the speakers.
Dennis: And the tag team partner. From Miami Beach, Florida, weighing in at 220lbs, CHRISSSSS AUSTIIIIIIN!!!
Chris Austin makes he way down the ramp, seemingly eyeing up Chinatsu Chen while she’s stood in the ring but looking like he’s trying hard not to. He climbs up the steps and through the ropes to stand beside Dylan James.
Envy by KHZ fills the arena and Jack Severino appears at the top of the ramp holding the Women‘s title belt..
Dennis: And finally, accompanied to the ring by Jack Severino. From Auckland, New Zealand, she is your Women’s Champion! GABRIELLLLLLLE!!!
Gabrielle emerges from behind Severino draped in a New Zealand flag. Jack turns and holds his arms as if he’s presenting her to the crowd. He steps behind her, placing the title belt around her waist. The two make their way down to the ring, arm in arm. Outside, they remove the belt and the flag, Jack Severino finding a place to stand opposite the Crimson Ghost as Gabrielle climbs through the bottom ropes into the ring.
Vinegar: They’re not even waiting for the bell as everything’s kicking off. Gabrielle jumping on Chinatsu Chen and raining down those forearm shots.
Hanson: No, get her Chen!
Vinegar: The others are climbing out to their corners as the women are kicking things off. Gabrielle driving her back to the ropes, Irish whip.
Hanson: Dropkick on the rebound.
Vinegar: Getting her up by her hair now. Hair pull snap mare and a vicious kick to the spine.
Hanson: Go on Chen! Get up.
Vinegar: The idea of impartiality still hasn’t sunk in yet for you has it.
Hanson: Imparti-what?
Vinegar: Didn’t think so. She’s got her on the mat locked in a head scissor with her legs.
Hanson: Chen’s pulling herself along the mat and reaches the ropes. Break the hold!
Gabrielle keeps the hold for the 4 count until the referee forces her to break it.
Vinegar: Chen getting back to her feet. Gabrielle pushing past Hazel East…
Hanson: Spinning wheel kick, straight into a front flip leg drop. That was pure poetry. Don’t you think?
Vinegar: Great chain wrestling from Chen and she’s in control now. She goes over to the corner and makes the tag to Exodus, lets see what this guy can do. He’s got Gabrielle up, Irish whip.
Hanson: Gabrielle hooks herself on the ropes and drops out of the ring. Diamond Jack doesn’t look to happy with the idea of some man hitting his Princess.
Vinegar: Chris Austin leans down to get the tag and takes over. Austin and Exodus lock up in the middle of the ring. Austin with the headlock.
Hanson: Counter by Exodus, hammerlock hold. Countered by Austin though, hammerlock of his own. Back belly suplex.
Vinegar: Stomps from Austin, backing Exodus into the corner. Looks like he’s lining something up as he walks back to the opposite turnbuckle. Running low dropkick, he just snapped that off.
Hanson: Told you this Brit couldn’t wrestle.
Vinegar: Little early to say. Austin’s got him up and taking him over to the corner. Tag to Dylan James.
Hanson: Double suplex. James taking control now. Whip off the ropes, big boot from the Harbinger.
Vinegar: Pulls him away from the ropes and goes for the figure four, Exodus fighting him off though and gets up to his knees.
Hanson: James comes back with a stiff kick to the ribs. Great strategy.
Vinegar: Yeah, strategy. Look at him now, holding Exodus’s hand out just out of reach of Saviour and Chen in the corner.
Hanson: That’s funny stuff.
Vinegar: He’s got him up again and hit’s a German Suplex, bridging pin.
1!
2!
Vinegar: Saviour in to break up the pin though. Hazel East sending him back to his corner.
Hanson: James has got him back in their corner and all three of them are wailing on him. Good teamwork and the tag to Austin.
Vinegar: Irish whip, Exodus on the rebound. He ducks the clothesline. Double clothesline from Exodus!
Hanson: Look at Chen! The Oriental Firecracker wants to get in there and mix it up with Chris Austin.
Vinegar: She’s going to get her chance too, Exodus with the diving tag and Chen goes up to the top rope. Missile dropkick on Austin as he tries to get to his feet.
Hanson: Look at her go!
Vinegar: Goes for the cover.
1!
2!
Hanson: What did he kick out for? Wouldn’t you want to be pinned down by her?
Vinegar: Some people can think outside their trousers partner. Granted though Chris Austin may not be the best example of doing so.
Hanson: She’s got him back on his feet. Right hands as she backs him to the ropes. Whip and jumping calf kick on the rebound.
Vinegar: Tag to Saviour who jumps over the ropes. Chen jumps up on his shoulders. Moonsault straight off her partner. Standing moonsault from Saviour. Lateral press.
1!
2!
Vinegar: Kick out by Austin. Saviour brings him back to his feet and into the corner. Looks like he’s going for the monkey flip.
Hanson: Great agility from Austin though and he lands on his feet. Saviour turns back. Hurracanrana by Austin.
Vinegar: Now he’s got him locked up in the Unbreakable. Saviour might tap out right here.
Hanson: Exodus in to break the hold though. Austin bringing Saviour back to the corner and goes to tag James.
Vinegar: Looks like Gabrielle’s feeling left out though, she’s telling Austin to tag her in.
Hanson: I would if I was him. Would you argue with someone who looked like that?
Vinegar: If my mind worked like Chris Austin’s, I guess not. Tag in to Gabrielle. Austin whips Saviour off the ropes. Dive at his feet on the rebound and Gabrielle with the dropkick.
Hanson: He’s going to feel that one in the morning.
Vinegar: I think you’re right, that shot would shake even a superhero up. Gabrielle following up with the stomps. She’s headed to the top rope. Saviour’s up though and hit’s the ropes. Gabrielle slips, spread eagle over the turnbuckle.
Hanson: It doesn’t matter what you’ve got down there, that’s gonna hurt. Diamond Jack doesn’t look too happy about it.
Vinegar: He sure doesn’t. He’s up on the apron as Hazel East tries to talk him down.
Hanson: I don’t think Saviour’s planning to wait though.
Vinegar: He’s certainly not. He just jumped straight over the referee’s head and hit Severino with a cross body block, straight from the apron to the floor.
Hanson: Well you’re not going to hear me say this often but credit where it’s due, Saviour’s got guts.
Vinegar: He sure does. He’s back up into the ring as each of the Diamond Couple recover. He makes the tag to Exodus.
Hanson: He’s not going to beat up Gabrielle is he?
Vinegar: That’s the business we’re in partner. Gabrielle back to her feet and Exodus with the snap mare and into the sleeper hold.
Hanson: Chris Austin in to break it up. Hazel East forcing him back out of the ring. She should be spending more time this Brit doesn’t try attack her with a hob nob or something.
Vinegar: I don’t think there’s much risk of that. Exodus off the ropes…
Hanson: Jack Severino with the blow to the back though.
Vinegar: Gabrielle’s up, small package pin!
1!
Vinegar: Saviour and Chen trying to make the save.
2!
Hanson: Austin and James though with the synchronised springboard dropkicks, takes them both out.
3!
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Vinegar: That’s the match folks.
Dennis: Here are your winners, Gabrielle! Chris Austin! And Dylan James!
There’s a mixed response from the crowd as the winners roll out of the ring, holding their arms up in victory. Exodus is sat up, clearly angry at the pin.
Hanson: That must burn Nick, pinned by a woman on your debut.
Vinegar: I’d think so. Who knows if we’ll see him around here again.
With the winners gone, one by one Exodus, Saviour, Chen and the Crimson Ghost make their way up the ramp, visibly dejected.
