This is to be a sounding board for those of us who were in GIW. Thoughts, ideas, feedback, whatever.
I am not admin, and any of this may or may not have to have any bearing on official decisions. This is mostly to keep everyone buzzing, and to hear from the family about their opinions and whatnot.
This is mostly just for fun.
This is not an us vs them thread.
Also, I have some ideas in the working for spicing up the OOC atmosphere around here, which is lacking, in my opinion. I hope it will ease the integration of our new brothers and sisters. You shall see.
I'll kick this discussion off:
Firstly: I'm largely against the 'use anyone' rule. I think you should at the very least let that person know. What's to stop me from running all over JK in my next promo? Integrity? Sure, I have it, but not everyone does.

Fuck integrity. Not entirely, it's probably the major force behind it. The other being...
Fear is what keeps people from running over other peoples characters when they lack the integrity. When I started a character by the name of Chris Austin was here. We teamed then I was put in a match for his hardcore title so we kinda almost fueded. I had just introduced the Maddy point of the BoolZ character. He had just written a roleplay where he nailed the Chinatsu Chen character. I was worried he'd pull somthing with Maddy. So I worked up an idea to literally cut his balls off in a post. He didn't so I didn't.
Recently Timza thought it a good idea to have Vlad assualt Grace and Conni. So I Roxy'ed Kingsley's wife.
Another, and it goes with integrity is maturity. It's a game. It's for fun. Where's the fun in burying your opponent? I've used others characters in my posts, it's always fun, and the majority of the time I 'sell' for them. I had a great time writting the Crimson Ghost playing an invisible Gameboy. I loved writting for Marek coming this close to kicking BoolZ's teeth in. I had plans for Jet and BoolZ to get into a sort of debate on the morals of Professional Wrestling, just couldn't ever really get a firm grasp for Somers and it wasn't going to be a significant point in my post to reach out. I understood Marek and Ghost, not so much Jet so I didn't include him. Conversly I've enjoyed when BoolZ showed up in an AKis, Prescott, or Hiro post.
It's responsibility, and it leads to my favorite stip of Hell in a Cell where you roleplay as your opponent.
Thats a bit off topic though. Back on topic another aspect why I really like the use anyone allowence is it tests the writer. Not when using someone elses character, but in how you incorperate their use of your character. With Austin fucking Chinatsu, Hiro gave Chinatsu a twin who was only ever seen again because BoolZ wanted to sleep with Chinatsu but not fuck her... in fact that's pretty much the same circumstances with Grace's twin Grace Hardly. Austin... twin.... BoolZ nails the twin.
Anyway he's not here anymore, but if I had written the dialog between Jet and BoolZ debating morality surely BoolZ would have learned somthing. That'd be the point, but how would that effect Ichabod's writing of Jet Somers? Whole fueds can be made off of it or supplemented. Mary-Joanna was Travis' idea. He wanted to bring her back, thought it would play better in my posts, so he gave me his character for a time. I think it worked. I also trace the entire rivalry between Kiseragi and BoolZ to his post where they met and BoolZ was a dick to him. We both ran with it and Alex Kiseragi and BoolZ developed a very organic hatred for one another all because of BoolZ making the Rainbow Dragon bring him a Red Bull.
As I think it'll continue to work as long as everyone is responsible and aware that anything they do to another handlers character can be much worse to their own.

I believe that when the wicked prosper then even the lowly prosper.
I personally open my character to be owned by anyone. I'd rather get beat up by a World Champion in his promo than no show and get beat up on live television.

The "Use Anyone Rule" has always meant within reason, it has never been "Do Whatever the Fuck You want to Anybody." In fact...
Yeah we let them do that.
One of the more controversial rules in UGWC is we do not disallow the use of other peoples characters in your promo’s. At the end of the day we put a high value on realism in UGWC, and all characters are meant to exist in the same universe. we feel it would be strange if everyone’s promo’s just included them and their closest associates, and wouldn’t create the atmosphere of a fully thriving, living, reality.
Having said this, you need to use some common sense in these situations. Firstly always stay true to the character you are representing. For instance my character speaks in third person almost all the time, so for him to appear in your promo saying ‘we think this...we did this...we am that’, would completely misrepresent the character, and be counterproductive to the universe we are trying to create. We certainly don’t allow you to make the other character look stupid in your posts, by all means try to gain an upper hand, but if your intent is to make your opponent look like a slobbering mongoloid who is powerless to resist your skills, don’t be surprised if your character finds himself semenating in his costume on the way down the ramp at the next show.
Now generally if you want anything major to happen in your post with another character it is always worth contacting their handler first. There are a number of reasons, the main one being you could contradict what they have planned for their post, if they plan for their character to be hunting Big Foot in the Rocky Mountains all week before the show, and you have them being confronted in the UGWC arena on Thursday it will just ruin any illusion of a credible reality.
As with most things this comes down to common sense, people are generally very protective of their characters and what they get up to, so bear that in mind if you decide to use someone else’s character. If you have a problem with how your character is portrayed by another member please contact me over PM and we will go from there.
If somebody abuses this freedom there is a foundation in place for us to do something about it, as this rule has been there all along. Otherwise, I agree with Boolz and all his points. The framework to create a fully inclusive world has been, in my opinion, one of the most unique and fun aspects of GIW, and one we fully want to continue.

All fair points.
And as I said, I am largely against it, but not fully against it. Here in UGWC, I believe I would fully trust almost anyone to treat Jet with respect to my wishes toward his character should they use them.
But, as the rule says, at the very least, some contact, or statement of intent simply makes sense. That's all I mean.
now, outside these walls, I am not so quick to trust. I've played in one other brand where this rule was allowed, and it devolved into chaos. You shouldn't have to stretch the imagination to see how one promo posted set off a chain of events that within a few days caused the rule to have to be repealed. Not every place has the level of trust and responsibility that this place has.
So when I say I am against it, know that I mean in ewrestling as a whole, but not 100% of the time. I am not against it here, as I've seen it be used mostly to good effect.
That being said.
Come Boolz, let us examine one of your examples.
(please don't take the following as any sort of disrespect, none is intended and I do respect you. most of this is conjecture and debate for the sake of debate)
Let us examine the Timza incidents.
Vlad continuously attacked Conni, Grace, Boolz' locker room and vehicle; week in and week out he did this, and most of us discouraged him from it, due to the staleness, repetitiveness, and largely uncreative and unmotivated angle it gave to the character.
However, in his defense, backstage attacks and destruction of personal property are old hat in professional wrestling. It's commonplace to see enemies do the kinds of things Vlad was doing (perhaps not quite as often, heh). He didn't have the bother of staying true to your characters, Conni and Grace, simply because he didn't have them react in any way that was untrue to them. They were set upon in ambush, there's not much interpretation there. The attacks all took place at the arena, where we can safely assume Conni and Grace would be present.
I'd say, despite it become a bore, Tim played by standards.
Now, come Tatyana's infidelity, the story began to change a bit. This required us the readers to suspend our disbelief enough to buy that this formerly loyal wife would, for whatever reason, deem to cheat on her husband. Is it plausible? It's professional wrestling, sure it's possible. However, it did require you to assume a character's motivations, choices, and reactions would fall contrary to previously established norms. Was it entertaining? Hell yes. Did it stop Vlad? Hell yes it did. But the one problem I had with it is it contradicted what we knew about Tatyana Kingsley, relegated the character to a much less respected position, and, I have no doubt, led to less posting from Tim.
One dynamic Tim and JK had going for them is that their family life was fairly stable, a sharp contrast to their bitter rivalry. It was interesting to read how their families actually hung out, and the posts about the future of their children were always entertaining. With the disloyal Tatyana now an accepted character, that dynamic, I feel, is lost.
Now, could Tim have done the twin thing, or come up with some other thing to remedy this? Perhaps, but that smacks of another ewrestling institution I despise even worse, and that's Godmodding.
Keep in mind that I do not disrespect Boolz or you, his handler, for these choices. These are merely observations. Tim's idea well seems to be running dry lately, and so, meh, whatever. He rolled with it, so more power to both of you.

Yeah I see it. Hell even agree. I'm not going to argue right or wrong with the direction the fued ended up. In fact I imagine I deserve a fair amount of blame.
I will say that I can see that as an example of how things can get out of hand. Just imagine if I did have Conni maul little Ben. But just as Timza had his attacks take place at the arena, BoolZ had his attacks take place during Sentinel. It became 'use someone elses characters' (funny because Grace is Moss Edwards character) in a roleplay and beat them up. Giving BoolZ being BoolZ whom I'd built as quite studdly, sex is a weapon, and slightly off center it made sense that's how he'd fight back. Hell I guess I did end up argueing.
Moving on about how Timza could have handled it without the twin or godmodding. I agree Timza might not have had a load of ideas in what direction to take the character. Dealing with Tatyana's unfaithfulness could have been a major facet in his future posts. Do Tim and Taty split, stay for the child, is Tim ok with it, does Tim seek a revenge fuck, or does he like to watch? Is this really something so unfathomable for Tatyana to do or is it a pattern just not explored previously, does she have a problem, is she sorry but sick? None of those might be his style, but he had options and none of them involved continueing to torment RBI's locker room doors.

And I have to say, seeing BoolZ run with Mj was a joy to see, it revealed sides of the character I had never seen.
I think the big plus, in a place like UGWC, is that we may KNOW our characters, but we don't always know how others perceive them, and sometimes that actually helps the character grow in added directions. I know Travis is a more fleshed out character due to it.
It can get messy, but that's what Myself, Steve, R!, Matt are soon to be revealed new admin are here to ensure doesn't happen.

I'd bet the farm on at least one being from LWF. I'ma guess Medos.
I'm also going way out on a limb and guess Declan Prescott just because with two rosters we're gonna get over crowded and probably need a few bannings.
And I think we should a 'Moss Edwards' through away answer to anything question related.
Wait found on. 'arelas' has that fancy blue font in his name.
