And again, P you completely miss the point that's lost somewhere out past your own shortsightedness marred by a simply dumbfounding refusal to look past any but the most basic principles.
1-Life before
2- event
3- ?
4- Profit
1- Rocky collects for a loan shark
2- Apollo picks Rocky at random
3- Rocky courts Adrian, beats up beef, and chases chickens
4- profit
1- Luke's a moisture farmer
2- Luke gets a pair of droids, and the Empire kill his Aunt and Uncle
3- Luke goes with Obi-Wan to rescue the Princess and learn the Force
4- Profit
1- Both leads are no bodies
2- Both leads were chosen by outside influence
3- Both leads train for a showdown
4- profit
It doesn't make Rocky and Star Wars the same movie.
Same as neither was Gladiator
And the sky is blue. What, we're not playing 'state random facts'? I never said they were the same movie.
1- Roman General
2- Emperor's son seizes throne
3- Fights from slave to gladiator
4- profit
How about
1- Stella's old
2- Stella takes a vacation
3- Stella gets her groove back
4- profit
I mean come on. Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark, and Stella were all people. They all went somewhere. Then they all found something in them they didn't know was there.
Of course Stella, Maximus, Luke, and Rocky didn't put on a costume so obviously their movies are vastly different.

Eh? Obviously there are similarities there, small as they are. But again, Iron Man and Begins have much more in common in terms of plot, setting and content than the small similarities between all those random titles you just listed off. I could say I ran into a guy down the street that looks exactly like me, except his willy wasn’t as massive. I could then run into another guy who looks totally different, but is similar because he is also white. Doesn’t make the first guy’s resemblance any less. That was a metaphor, BTW.
I don't want to insult DP's taste in movies without knowing what movies he is into. So, DP, if the newer Batman films and the Avenger series are so terrible, what kind of movies do you fancy?
Hitting you with another lolwut? When did I say Batman Begins was bad? It’s one of my favourite movies ever.
BoolZ has a good point in saying that most movies follow the same basic formula so you're going to find similarities in them. Ranging from kid movies to R-rated flicks. If you break it down and grasp far enough, all movies will seem common.
Indeed he has. Sadly that argument is not relevant, as he has been unable to show how one must ‘grasp far enough’ in the specific case of Iron Man and Begins. Feel free to give it a go yourself.
I also feel that it is necessary to point out here that I NEVER said Iron Man was bad simply because it had so much in common with Begins. I said it was bad because it was a shitty, racist version that brought nothing of its own to the table, other than a ‘the Middle East sucks and America rules’ sentiment. I find it amusing that point has gone uncontested, even by people who claim to enjoy the movie. I could turn around right now (if I had no idea what I was talking about )and say 'oh yeah, Iron Man and Begins are totally different after all' and the main points to my original post would all still stand. Ah, semantics.
Finally, at Roberts, it might make you feel better to know that I am laughing my ass off at you, dude. ;D
